- nothing like finding stuff out the hard way.
Here is the story of how I found the right hub kit combination for my mystery Yamaha F70.

Proptacular bud. Great info even if you cant pronounce Solas correctly. lol. Crazy how difficult it was to find the correct parts for such a popular motor.
Had that issue with my old Tohatsu and a Solas props. I had to send them a photo of my engine and details to get the correct hub kit and Thrust washer. They were good to send me the correct parts.
Thanks Dustin.I have had the same problem wth a older nerd 90 two stroke. I wanted to go with Solas to have the Versatility at a reasonable price.
yes i pronounce it "Solairus" for some reason...... just my midwest twang i guess. im sure someone will be annoyed by it.... sorry bud lol
Dear Dustin great video, can I ask you how heavy your boat is. I also bought a F70 for my Yamarin 473 big ride (duo console) I think the combo incl all fishing gear and 2 persons weigh around 650/700KG what kind of prop can reccomment?
I have the same motor I think I’m going to buy the one already put together 0:47
Turning point do a 14” x 13p
hello Dustin i need your help, i have 17 ft proline 1996 with f70 prop 13 5/8 - 14k when going myself the top speed around 30 but its takes alot time to get on plane,
when going 2-3 people the boat going max 9mph and never on plane((
the prop calculator says that i need 12.8 - 21k but im not sure
please help)
You have to much pitch & probably a overloaded boat. To gain holeshot & load carrying ability you must drop pitch & increase blade surface area either with diameter or a 4th blade. By your 13.625"×14⁰ prop explanation (assuming that's a 3 blade) I would look at finding a 13.75 x 12⁰ 3blade or a 13.5"×11⁰ 4 blade. You'll loose 3-4mph topend but it will gain everywhere else. Better holeshot, 3-400higher rpms, & better overall experience. I would also have a professional look at your outboard height, sometimes 1" can make a tremendous difference & most motors get mounted to low. Good luck! 👍
@@DustinApple just purchased one 13.5 - 12 pitch hopefully that will work
easy, don't buy their shit
Actually their shit is pretty good. They even fixed their website and sent me free prop for this video.
