How to rehub a boat propeller.

Using a hydraulic press to install a rubber hub bushing into a stainless steel boat prop.
The insertion tool used in this video is called a hub insertion funnel.
There really is not a lot of info about them on the web. Most prop shops just custom-make their own. Any good machinist can make them. Its basically just a steel funnel with the small end the size of the hole in the prop and the large end slightly bigger than the new hub. Im not sure if he still does but anyone interested can check with Mike at Propeller Equipment Supply CO Inc.(PESCO) in Charleston, SC, He used to make and sell them.
Tools needed to rehub a prop: At least a 20 ton shop press will work and the proper size hub insertion funnel.
This is only needed for pressed in brass spline rubber cushioned hubs.
Hub kits like XHS and Flo Torq 2 should not need any special tools to replace them. If they are stuck in the prop it is likely from corrosion.
