I am sorry. As I am Japanese, I think there is a limit to what I can tell you about my actual experience regarding that question. Some of the restaurants I have been in did not have English menus, and I believe some of the staff speak only Japanese. However, if you are having trouble, I am sure most stores will make every effort to ensure you have a good experience. I hope you have a good trip and I look forward to hearing from you😊

I have been to japan once before and we were denied entry to a restaurant because we were foreigners, thats why i asked :) There is no need for english menus or english-speaking staff on my behalf, I can just use my limited japanese and google translate! I tried the Kobe Beef in Asakusa and didn’t realised that the price is so above what I thought to be because my bad I did not convert my AUD to Yen and ended up paying for 52,768 Yen for only 1 set without any extras 😅most expensive meal I have ever paid!
