I kill my bottles but from day one I have always kept a 3cl (1oz) sample of every bottle I have opened and have over 1500. I never have that "I will never taste it again feeling" and have 100's of pre war/Fine and Rare Macallan, 1960's Bowmore and Springbank, Port Ellen, Brora, Samaroli's and aged single cask Karuizawa etc to hopefully enjoy when I retire - the hard decision is when to start opening them!
