What is the BEST World Plant in PvZ2? (ranked by the community)

- I made a poll asking people to vote for the best world plants in Plants vs. Zombies 2, here are the results! Please watch the small intro to know how the scoring worked. Thanks to everyone that participated in making this possible :)
My Discord channel in Floral Federation: / discord
Take in mind that leveling was NOT part of the poll and wasn't taken into consideration.
EDIT: Please stop with the "this plant is now available in all worlds", I know, I've gotten a ton of comments already.
Will you do this for premium and seed packet plants too
When you made the pool didn't you say that?? (Hi :) )
Yeahh.... Level 5 stallia + blover.
Gold Leaf got nerfed to cost 80 (it used to cost 50) and its recharge was increased from 30 seconds to a whopping 50 seconds.
@@muddashucka9743 yeah and anyways it's in one of the last levels of the world anyways, being used only in lost city anyways making it kinda niche
I appreciated the music change after every plants to suit the plant's world theme! No one mentioned it so I did
Thanks!
Yeah I liked it as well. I closed my eyes and listened to the bgm to guess what plant would come up next.

Really like how Peashooter was rated the most middle-tier plant it could've been. Really goes to show why he's the first plant you use.
Trolls kinda voted him..
I’m assuming they voted for tile turnip too that plant is not A tier
Peashooter sucks.
@@Lauren_5550 its an easy plant

very surprised on the low placement of Stallia. Same goes for Shadow Shroom considering how OP Shadow Shroom's Plant Food is
fr
Stallia I kinda get it, unless level 5+
the true madness fan
nah shadow shroom pf is overrated
Combine it with Iceberg Lettuce, Power Lily and Infi-nut with Tile Turnip and you can pretty much effortlessly cheese any level
Now that Hot Potato, Gold Leaf, Thyme Warp and Perfume Shroom can be used in all worlds now, I think Thyme Warp would make it to the top 5, while Gold Leaf would be higher than it used to be.
they must of saw viddy and dain's pvz2 tier list
Naahh gold leaf has high cooldown better to add more damage to your arsenal rather than waiting for producing 50 sun only with high cooldown..
But i would say thyme warp will be in top 10
Wait Thyme Warp can now be used on other worlds?
Perfume Shroom would definitely be number 1

The only way to beat the rng is by planting loads and loads of Kernel Pults.

The problem with these kind of polls is that the lower ones are just the forgotten ones, there is no way Tangle Kelp or Tall Nut can be worse than Spring Bean for example, these kind of polls work best for top 10s, but a full ranking usually doesn't end up too well.
Idk how lightning reed made it so high up. If anyone thinks lighting reed is as good as dusk lobber or winter melon they should try to use reed as the only attacker on a harder world like jm or bwb. Its not a bad plant but it is not better than primal peashooter
@@3leggedfish41 lightning reed is high up because you can beat like 80-90% of levels just by spamming it
@@MiniBinguss and it's plant food is decent too
Yeah EMPPeach is like an S tier for only Far Future it should get a little credit
Spring beans ability + blowver is insane. THATS WHY PEOPLE VOTED FOR IT
Forgot to mention, Primal Potato Mine is also unnecessarily quick to deploy. I think it takes like 1-2 lanes away from the zombie for it to finish deploying which is very good
Yea really good in arena - 1 lane deployment time, not only does it arm in 5 seconds zombies need to spend 3 seconds to eat it. So it's almost like no arming time.
At level 5 you can plop it on top of a zombie and it won’t destroy it fast enough
@@childman6414 Yes exactly. Obviously doesn't work in arena but otherwise yea.
@@GD-FabledIn Arena zombies need like just a few frames to eat a non-defensive plant tho
@@TunaBear64 You really can't wait for zombies to walk one tile? Plus you can plant them in last stand setup to instantly arm. Oh and thanks for replying after four months.
For perfume shroom being ranked literally the lowest it was actually an integral part of my round 50 in Jurassic swamps. Since so many dinosaurs in the later rounds can be almost impossible to deal with using perfume shroom and power lily to recharge it and get a second one to just give myself a little bit of breathing room and focus resources on other lanes was actually huge
Especially the dumb teradactlye and mace one
the existant of premium plant name meteor flower....made perfume shroom completely useless bc the meteor flower chases every single dinosaurs exist on the screen instead of just 1 lane
beside there're better tactic instead of using the shroom
fun fact in the newest update gold leaf and thyme warp got a massive buff allowing you to use them in other worlds!
Citron being above great plants like stallia, twin sunflower, peapod, and melon pult is absolutely insane to me...
excuse me... above melon-pult?
Yeah Citron isn't that great. It needs a lot of support to be even good which it isn't
Citron is really held back by the fact that it does no splash
alright guys lets all rag on citron
citron only takes out one zombie (assuming it's weaker than a buckethead in hp) every like 10s or smth. sooo slow
I always use citron with laser bean. Not a bad combo
What makes Primal Sunflower used more often than other sun producing plants is that she only costs 75 sun, produces 75 sun, has a fast recharge, and doesn't need time to grow. Twin Sunflower produces twice as much sun but her main drawback is her 125 sun cost and mediocre recharge. Sunflower is your first sun producing plant that gets outclassed later on because you need to build more son to deploy your forces faster. Sun-shroom is cheap and can produce larger suns as it grows, but its weakness is that it takes a long time for them to grow to full size and once it gets destroyed, you have to start all over. Moonflower may be able to produce twice as much like the Twin Sunflower, it has a weak Plant Food effect and it also has a mediocre recharge. In addition, its gimmick requires to be near shadow plants to produce the max value.
not sure if I'm missing something, but twin sunflower doesn't produce twice as much as primal, it produces a meagre 25 more sun
@@DrunkedOwly I forgot to mention that Twin Sunflower produces 50x2 sun. (100 sun)
i need more son to deploy forces faster?!
i think i need more children
@@TheTraps518 Funny joke.
Something worth mentioning is that Primal Sunflower is strong also because of the sun boost upgrade which lets you start off with 25 extra sun. Otherwise, you'd have only 50 sun and you have to wait patiently for roughly ten seconds to get to 100 sun and then be able to place primal sunflower. If not for that upgrade, I think that sunshroom would have taken the cake just because your early game would be much smoother. Twin sunflower is weak mostly because its easier to use other sun producers and also, in 50 sun meta, what would have been very costly in PVZ1 is now rather cheap and accessible. You can use normal sunflowers and still play a bunch of melon pults and primal potato mines to get rid off zombies instead of risking an early-game defeat with twin sunflower.
If you purchase bonus upgrades for money, you could immediately back your moonflower with a shadow shroom for boosted sun production in the early game. (it's not a bad idea in fact)
Edit (TLDR): People take the upgrades for granted but if you think about it, an additional 25 or 50 sun is all you need to have a better and smoother early-game.
Honestly the only surprise to me was that Primal Wall-Nut wasn't in the top ten. It's almost unfair how much durability he has for how fast and cheap he is.

I just returned to PvZ2 yesterday after not playing it for maybe 5 years and I must say it feels good to be back!
It's about time.
7:05 I am surprised that it has been so low, corn is one of the plants that I chose the most together with my friends, and more in PvZ2 because by giving it a nutrient its special paralyzes to all the zombies with butter, his weakness is the jester and other zombies that reflect objects, but it's easy to fix if you combine some kind of nut with the lazer bean or the Fume-Shroom
it's baffling to me why they chose to introduce garlic in the one world where literally every special counters it
@@TheMistermastermario i used him in pvz 2 and he literally died in 30 seconds garlic got nerfed so hard.
That's why it makes great friends with the Pea-nut. Introduced in Dark Ages, and countered by literally the two special zombies there.
Not to mention it's durability got nerfed a ton compared to PvZ1
Used to have around 20 uses to a measly 3
@@TunaBear64pretty sure the health is the same, difference is that there is a delay before it takes effect which makes it really bad
I think the purpose is to let players know that he works well with Phat Beets. Yeah I agree that Garlic can't do his best in NMT but in endless modes, "Phat Beets + Garlics" is one of my favourite duos!
Primal potato mine is quite literally the "aight i dont know what else for arena mode, guess i'll just use it as a backup."
or you literally grab it and tile turnip (with power lily probably)
and just obliterate arena mode.
and trust me, the pvz2 devs are aware of this crap. On one of the days of the festivus calendar, it was primal potato mine with a literal offer in the shop that gave: primal potato mine seeds, tile turnip seeds, bombard-mint and enchant-mint seed packets.
and its also just powerful by itself too, you LITERALLY cant go wrong with choosing this plant
But rn, ppm is quite outclasse by explode o vine
Somehow ppm powercrept both potato mine and cherry. Its insane how good of a plant it is for just 50 sun
Every arena I put him in I won with like over 500 000 points
I beat almost every “plan your defense” level just filling the board with primal potato mine lol

Tall nut is a great counter towards flying zombies! He's a great extra option sometimes! Too bad Blover makes him obsolete most of the time... sigh...
Which outclassed by Infi-Nut plant food
@@-ArdhaniChandra Not necessarily. A whole line of Tall Nuts had more defense than an Infi-Nut's plant food. Plus, Plant food is a little unpredictable sometimes, whereas Tall Nuts will work 100% of the time!
@@Nickk7878-v8t 1 plant food vs an entire line of the most expensive defensive barrier plant in the game?
@@exactlyhowareyou513 That still strongly depends on availability of that one plant food. Tall Nuts need to be buffed though. For example, fisherman zombie should not be capable of pulling Tall Nuts into water; instead, he should deal 3 zombie bites worth of damage per hook (for consistency, Infinut's shield should also receive that damage); fisherman zombie should hook some milliseconds slower. Correct me if I am wrong: Tall Nut already tanks two gargantuar shots, right? If not, do that too. Tall Nut is expensive and recharges slow. It deserves to be a stronger tank.
*Edit:* Blover still makes Tall Nut obsolete in other worlds though. Blover needs a recharge time nerf (or a sun cost nerf), optionally a bigger dead time and should not kill zombies which are just bounced back. Blover however should be able to blow away any thrown octopi though.
Yes, but tall nut is also pretty bad given how many zombies can instakill in PvZ 2

*Suggestion for ranking premium plants:* Rank premium plants released from game launch to neon mixtape tour and premium plants after that separately.
If I recall correctly, Popcap started adding plants which are direct upgrades (or very overpowered versions) of the existing plants, starting from Jurassic Marsh. The list would be skewed if you rank them all together; that's why.
Grapeshot, cold snapdragon and other obvious ones, but escape root is surely unique although niche and relies on rng
almost all premium plants are op

Edit: didn’t see the almost
Grapeshot, bombegranate, cold snapdragon, rhubarbarian, heath seeker, and teleportato mine: I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.
@@justacat2318 Escape root is higher skill-cap plant. If you can manage sun production and seed recharge well, it has zero arming time and damages atleast in 1x1 area, making it ATLEAST equal to squash. But it has 50% chance to hit 3x3 as well (not to mention, one of 3x3 AOE plant it spawns is grapeshot); also, this plant is versatile in general. This definitely an upgrade to squash but it is designed well to make it not feel so!
Thyme warp can now be used in any world and let me just say it saves you incredibly amount of time or just sticky situations
Thyme warp heals zombies though
I'm still a great fan of Lightning Reed. The way (s)he strikes every zombie and spreads the electricity out is relaxing and will be extremely useful in the stages containing a great number of zombies.
Outside the premium plant it's

Surprised to see magnet shroom so low, I personally really like it as a semi defensive support plant that prevents strong zombies from ever being a threat
Sure but against zombies like Fossilheads, Blockheads and brickhead variants, not really
It's only good against hordes of Knights, Bucketheads, Centurions, Punk, Carnie Imp and Crackerhead Zombies.
Honestly, I wish it had way more uses like taking out fishing hooks from Fisherman Zombies or boombox radio from Boombox Zombie.
It's a C tier plant imo

For me, I prefer Sun Shrooms more than Primal Sunflower, due to the fact that it's cost is 50 more suns and in the early game, that actually hurt a lot. However, I do see why most people prefer Primal Sunflower more and I do agree why it should be the best sun producer.

Ever since I started playing PVZ 2, Snapdragon has been my all time favorite.
If you put down a lane of them you can basically deal with any zombie, except fire resistant zombies.
Which is why I would pick Ice Snapdragon for best plant, since he’s Snapdragon but can also deal fire resistant zombies.
But that makes the entirity of the frostbite caves harder given that they’re resistant to cryo attacks and don’t get affected by the slow, which in combination with Cold snapdragons shorter range, gives it a harder time

perfume shroom may be the worst ever but it was actually super important in my strategy for high rounding in Jurassic marsh tarpits. I ran it with power lily to refresh the CD with plant food, and would've ran imitater if i had it. The dinosaurs get so plentiful and so busted in later waves that being able to lock down 2 lanes and have them on my side (which lasts for a pretty significant amount of time actually) was deadass a game changer
That being said, phat beet is one of the only plants not affected by the boombox zombie. That, and it does 3x3 area damage. It should rate a bit higher, especially if you divert zombies around it with garlic. It’s a lot like gloom shroom from the original PvZ.

Pea pod is awesome for long levels with not much planting room. I remember he was specifically the reason of how I got past a hard level near to the end of frostbite caves. If you have enough time then this guy can shred. I agree with magnifying grass honestly, any level that requires you to produce X amount of sun, he is an instant pick. Yeah but it doesn't really help that much in it's own world.
Perfume Shroom is not a good counter. Having played Jurassic Marsh again recently, I can tell you right now that the Dinos are spawned far too frequently and across too many lanes for Perfume Shroom to possibly keep up. @@77elite9 Laser bean and lightning reed have similar struggles but honestly early game with lightning reed is easier because its cheaper. It's crowd control is much better also, especially on harder levels. And it fares better against stronger zombies when spammed because it can attack in adjacent lanes and also much faster (So as stronger zombies approach lightning reeds hone in on it, sort of like a homing thistle.). Lasar bean is a great option too it just can't handle tough bwb beach levels which begin the lanes with swarms.
With lightning reed it costs 250 to cover all lanes, 1000 with lasar beans (albeit, this would only provide defence against reg zombies) However, it is still 4x cheaper and completely necesary, laser bean simply can not put up with those early game imp/reg zombie rushes in bwb etc.

dude bonk choy is so underrated, that guy helped me literally complete modern day. just use a primal wallnut with him and its all fine, along with some explosives.
same i pair him with snap dragon they were my first combo.
Bonk Choy superior than Pokra🔥🔥🔥
How I would have done this poll is have the person be given every plant and give them a score 1-5, 1 being awful and 5 being really good, and then see which plants had the highest and lowest scores. Asking for the top 3 doesn’t work when most times, some plants won’t be in the top 3.
I'm really surprised to see Snapdragon so high and Fume Shroom so low. I always believed Fummy to be A tier with great range, great damage, great cost, great recharge, and having synergy with chilling plants unlike Snappy.
So true bestie
But Snapdragon is still decent for me. Can hard counter Hunter Zombies and is a good choice for Icebound Battleground
I'm surprised that Magnet and Hot Potato aren't considered the worst plants in the game.
Trollers probably
Im not gonna sugarcoat it (plant food magnet + m1 + neon mixtape tour + m1 + the 5000 punk zombies ruining the symmetry + m1)
Honestly felt a little bit sad when I learned that Perfume-shroom didn't get even 1 vote
It’s just not that good at what it’s supposed to do
For the cost of a jalepeno, which clears a lane usually, a perfume shroom only works if there are dinosaurs in its lane and even then doesn't do very much.
@@Gloom_Shroom_Gaming yes I know her usefulness and application is one of the worst but I'm more saddened by the fact that not even 1 person voted for her
@@urbainleverrier1 no, there were votes (4 in fact). What flag zombie meant was that nobody voted for her in one of the three questions.
I mean... you gotta give my boy peashooter credit for protecting you on the first day. ;)
Laserbean is very powerful (especially at high levels) and can inflict damage thru thick crowds of zombies!!! It should be top 5 plant
If you power up Spring Bean and immediately use Blover while all the Zombies are up in the air you can clear the entire board. That may be why people were adding Spring Bean to the higher part of the list. It's a devastating combination attack to the Zombies no matter what Zombies/Gargantuars are on the board.
That was removed...
sorry mate that combo was removed
@@memegame3834 I believe it, It's been a few years since I used it.
@@itzamia your not alone on that one
Kinda sad that Fume-shroom is in a lower tier, but i guess that's fair enough (people rather choose the range than cheaper sun cost, i guess).
FINALLY People realize how stupid Dusk Lobber is. I’ve seen tier lists with her in like D tier. Made me face palm so hard
Edit: also as for the whole Primal Sunflower vs Sunshroom debate, first, Moonflower is better than both cuz Dusk Lobber exists, second, I’d say Sunshroom since it’s easier to get more down in the beginning and by the time you really need sun, they’re all grown up.
I mean , intensive carrot and tall-nut are really useful for far future endless, since they can double as a protection if you dont think you need blover, and the intensive carrots will save your winter melons from mecha-gargantuars. Garlic opens up to a vast arraw of strategies including the spikerock walk, it really is a good option when you need to group up zombies.
And sunshroom would be better than primal sunflower for me because its faster and easier to plant especially in levels that start quickly, while primal sunflower will require a lot of stallers for almost the same result.
I'm very happy that primal potato mine; one of my favourite plants, got into first place. like oh my god the arming time is so fast and you can take out a gargantuan in like, 2 of them
funny how Jurassic marsh plants got first and last place.
I hope you will make gemium, seedium and premium plants next
he already did seediums
@@Hizelly76 Could you send the link of that here please.
@@cygnus_a0 he unlisted the video for some reason
I have no idea how iceberg lettuce is ranked higher than stallia tbh, their effect is basically the same but stallia affects a great area AND works the same in FBC, i guess because iceberg is unlocked a lot earlier?
Iceberg lettuce plantfood is LEAGUES better with good synergy
Stall and freeze are different
With the recent update, golden leaf, thyme warp, and a few other world locked plants can now be used in all worlds. Given that fact, they would probably have ranked a lot higher.
Thyme warp is so busted
Except for perfume shroom
@@MinhKhang_876 Perfume Shroom can be used in Modern Day because it teleports zombies from other worlds there might be a level where dinosaurs are there.
@@RealMichael1354 the gimmick still sucks
With there being. Less zombies in modern day it is slightly better@@MinhKhang_876
Peashooter is unironically one of the most spammable plants in the game and can be particularly useful for levels where it’s harder to get sun or you have to spend less sun.
who would have imagined that the best and the worst plant comes from the same world
Thanks for the spoiler.
@@GD-Fabled ur welcome
I personally loved Cabbage Pult, probably something I would main due to it being a fairly better peashooter, shooting over obstacles, though Parasols are the only real counter to them.
But the problem is that in alot of times, peashooter do better at killing zombies since peashooter's projectile is faster than cabbage pult and since grave is rarely a problem, most people perfer peashooter. Still a decent plant tho.
People also like it more since it the face of pvz
Wow stunion and sun bean are shockingly low imo, both great plants
Nah Sun Bean is in the tier it deserves to be in
@@imwellings i'd say a tier or two up, people really underestimate how much you can get from it, especially since it's effect stacks you can get like 500 sun off of one zombie lol
That sounds really good except you’re overlooking several factors which contribute to Sun Bean’s effectiveness being worse. Notably that 500 sun is its maximum potential in 1 specific world, Sun Bean usage in early game is absolute garbage and that pvz2’s pacing is very quick and fast which doesn’t allow Sun Bean to work well near mid to late game.
I like how the first 2 plants in this video were literally plants of the 2 hardest worlds lol
Almost gave me flashbacks to that one ranking video that put the little mushroom on top
ShyGuyMask
I don't really know what you meant by best. Like, best looking? Best balanced? Best to me personally? Best represents the franchise? Best for any situation and is broken? In the end, I went with the latter and chose Magnifying Grass as #1, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone else based their decision from one of the other examples.
best plants to use overall ofc
Obviously best as in strongest in-game
@@kermitsudoku6446 Well, so many people picked Peashooter and Cabbage Pult and I think that they picked it for some other reason.
@@Nickk7878-v8t i think cuz the other ones were worse and they technically aren‘t even that bad. they are decent. just overshadowed by all the other plants above
@@Nickk7878-v8t thats just cuz trolls exist lmao
They did grave buster dirty with his new design . My eyes hurt after looking at him
Wow. Surprised primal peashooter. A plant I voted for. Got pretty high in. Same with iceberg lettuce. Don't know how I didn't see kernel pult. EDIT: I voted for all the plants I mentioned.
Reasons why Snapdragon is at least top 10 story mode plants:
- warms around
- AoE
- decent recharge time
- decent cost
- entire row is OP
- basically unlocked at the start of the game
I was shocked, i thought Bonk choy was gonna be much lower but 21???!?!?! thats better than i expected
9:22 this aged like milk 💀
I'm surprised Chad God is ranked this low. He's literally my Number 1 defensive plant
Chad guard is goated.
Chard Guard should be ranked way higher. That plant can send back Gargantuan zombies, that's broken as fuck!
Chard guard is meh
@@KhajaSodhuyou ain't using it right then
It's more like an insta than a wall though, which makes it stronger ironically
Since I have the enlighten mint, I use sun shrooms way more just because placing down one lane basically turns them into 25 sun primal sunflowers instantly.
Someone should do a challenge were you are only allowed to use the top 10 plants in this video
The reason they're top 10 is because they're really good (or absolutely busted) so I think it should be bottom 10 instead
I love how so many people who voted lightning reed voted as their first option. Y'all are truly based pvz2 players and I give you all my kudos
I don't
Combo with magnifying glass and primary sun flower, you can just clear the whole game with that combo.
Not quite, I personally love magnifying grass when I don't know how to use, but I usually support it with ppm and is useless in spend more than x sun and last stand.
Spring bean higher than Stunion is outrageous 💀💀
Now we need a ranking off all the paid/premium plants.
2:28 Actually Phat Beet is the most reasonable plant in Neon Mixtape Tour as he looks most suitable in a music world. Also, for those who don't know, he is immune to Boombox Zombies since he wears a headphone!
