Nice creativity, but that amount of fish in this pond will die shortly or be miserable. People don't realize but Koi fish likes deep water for security and temperature regulation. Also, it seems heavily overstocked for the amount of swim space. Instead of Koi, I'd suggest smaller schooling fish.
The central piece is a nice gimmick but if the water just passes over the media instead of through it, no real filtration is being made here, also, it takes much space that the fish would be happier with.
The location of this pond is also bad, it is over concrete, with a layer of brick and concrete, it will get HOT, specially if this video is from Vietnam, where I think it is, and there it gets very hot, that amount of water will probably cook the fish, but perhaps that is the goal?
The brickwork was nicely done, but the raw brick gives a unfinished look. Also, some epoxi sealant on the inside would not hurt since concrete and bricks are very porous, that water will need constant replenishment due to evaporation.
Nice gimmick, but I'd pass on it.

@masterspin7796 calcium hydroxide isn't toxic. It can make balancing the pH difficult initially, but reduces over time as the concrete cures. Calcium hydroxide is added to water all the time in treatment plants to reduce hard water corrosivness to plumbing and to help remove other heavy minerals. Lots of drinking water tanks and cisterns are made of concrete. It's definitely a better option than plastic or urethane based sealers in steel tanks used for drinking water.

Then they fully drain it and let sit dry for a week, up to a month before they refill and set up for actual plants and animals to live in. Bamboo, palm and banana are all very porus and suck up water, helping to act as a natural filter to absorb the toxins.

So... A super shallow koi pond, with what's got to be one of the ugliest fountains in the middle. And I'm pretty sure that cement releases chemicals when it is wet.

My old cat wouldn't have let them last long, she had all the carp out my pond every time she got bored in summer. She used to just pull them out and watch them flap around on the lawn, didn't even eat them, I was forever putting fish back in the water until eventually there were no survivors left.

@darthwiizius Some people put black colored nylon nets over the pond if it's too shallow. I also have a cat that wants everyone dead...but I don't have a pond.

I took the pond out in the end because it was quite deep and I was worried about neighbours' kids coming into the garden to retrieve a ball, frisbee, or whatever else they launch into my garden on any given day in the summer. It's not like it had any fish in it....

I don’t get it… why going through all this effort to create the compartments to then have two totally submerged and the others filled up with filters that the water only skims over? If the two submerged ones would have at least been used for putting water plants in and the water had been syphoned through the filters on it’s way to the pump… and to add insult to injury, let’s willy nilly throw a few pebbles in.
I love the craft, but this is all form and no functionality.

@@33DRAGON02 there’s a little thing called ASMR or autonomous sensory meridian response for those of you in the back. Which means some sounds produce a calming effect for people even helps some people fall asleep faster. Some people can’t fall asleep without some sort of ASMR sound in the background I happen to be one of those people. It can be something as simple as pages of a magazine turning or crinkling plastic bags OR…… sounds made by people doing something simple like constructing a fish pond kinda like the ASMR sounds being made in this video that were being ruined by the second track with music. So turning it down defeats trying to hear the natural sounds being made by the process.
There are hundreds of people on UA-cam that make videos strictly produce ASMR sounds and some of them have MILLIONS of views and thousands of subscribers. These people are making good money strictly by doing something as simple turning pages in a book for 45 minutes. Now do you have any other smart ass replies ?
