    First time watching your channel and I really enjoyed the down-to-earth demeanour! Makes it very relatable esp from a Class 2 rider 👍🏼

    Comprehensive Insurance. Biggest reason on why comprehensive and not other policies is a peace of mind. If and when something were to happen, that burden of finance will be at the bottom of my list concerns/priorities. Riding safe and defensively is still the best practice to develop.

      Well said! Indeed, having comprehensive insurance offers peace of mind, but ultimately, it comes down to how safely we ride.

    normal traffic jam, used to ride the same route as you haha. Cars and lorries just hogging the road and driving like 70 and keep changing lane LOL

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому

      True that, really rabzz!! The traffic congestion tends to ease up after passing Bukit Timah Fire Station. The presence of bus lanes and the duration of traffic lights largely contribute to the heavy traffic.

    For the topic on insurance i think it depends on how much your bike costs, for yourself you're riding an almost new mt09 my advice is stick with comp. If anything were to happen, insurance covers both your bike & the third party. For myself as i ride a 15yo fz6 which i bought for cheap, i'm using third party. If anything were to happen i'm comfortable scrapping the bike.

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому +1

      That's a good point about insurance. It really does depend on the value of the bike. I will continue to stick with the comprehensive insurance 😄

    Do you need a special license to ride a motorcycle in SG? Like if you were to drive a car you gotta pay for a license to drive right?

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому

      Hi there, you are right. In order to purchase a vehicle, we need to bid for a Certificate of Entitlement (COE). Right now, the COE for motorcycles is nearly $10,000, and for cars, it's over $100,000. After that, there are additional taxes to pay, and it's important to note that ownership only lasts for 10 years. E.g R15 can cost you over $15,000

    nice ride! thoughts on the new traffic rules where they are implementing speed cameras in normal red light cameras junction. am on 2a now and not sure if i wanna take class 2 because of this :P

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you! In Singapore, on regular roads, there’s a traffic light about every 100 meters, and red light speed cameras are everywhere! You’re spot on, it’s hard to fully enjoy class 2 bikes here, but heading north to open up the throttle is always an option! Haha, YOLO, go for it! Get your class 2 license soon! 😎😄

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi there, It's been a year since I got my MT09 Sp from the authorised dealer, and I haven't received any recall notices yet. However, I'm aware of recalls regarding ECU programming and O2 sensor connector problems. Thankfully, my bike seems to be fine. As for the frame part, I've taken precautions by installing frame sliders and crash bars to protect against any potential frame issues.

    • @asphaltadventure448
      @asphaltadventure448  4 місяці тому

      Hey there, you might want to consider waiting and upgrading to the MT09. It makes more financial sense in the long run. However, the transition from Class 2b to Class 2 is quite significant. If you're up for it, though, go ahead and grab the MT03 first. It's a blast to ride!

      @@asphaltadventure448 Thank you very much for your reply and valued opinion. Another consideration would be the CB400X as a consideration, only Japanese brand bikes for now. What's your take on it? Currently riding the "baby-iest" of the MT lines.. . Thank you very much again.

      @@b-reel I passed 2A in July 2024, and upgraded from a 2nd-hand and problematic CB190X to a new 2023 CB400X, while the COE is relatively "low" in recent years. Because I feel like it's enough for me and kinda my "endgame" bike for the time being 😂
      I'd love to ride a Tracer 9GT or CFMoto 800MT or even a used GSA1250 as my true endgame bike, but that's for another life 😂

      Oh yeah hahaha! I always rely on that stretch to get to work. By the way, what bike do you ride bro? The XSR900 is undeniably a fantastic bike with sleek looks.
