Hi there ! 🙋🏾♀️ New subscriber. I absolutely love this trench. It doesn't look so intimidating to make. I was st a boutique in the DC area and they had a dress in the style of a trench. Really beautiful! What made it extra stunning is the bottom was bloused or softly gathered into the hem. So it was lined. Your black trench reminded me of that. I figure if l made that pattern a little more fitted, I might can pull it off by it being simpler to make. Patterns are. 99 at JoAnn's right now
Hi! I enjoyed your review and agree that this is not a difficult pattern to make. I had this pattern in my stash and finally made it last fall in some with wild mid weight paisley print fabric of unknown fiber. I also made my bias binding in another print. It’s definitely unique! I just pulled it out to finish the belt loops to wear it this Spring. I love that I can make a trench-like coat that I’d never find in the stores.
Thanks for that review - your makes are fabulous! I've had that pattern for a while and decided I needed a few duster coats so tried it and I love it too! You're so right about the fabric choices, my first one was in a really lightweight crepe and is a bit too thin.
Thanks for this review! I have this pattern and have always loved the design lines, but so many patterns so little time! lol Can't wait to try it one day you've inspired me!
I'm new to your channel and I'm loving it! I have this pattern too but haven't made it yet. Now, I'm going to make it now in a polished cotton or a lightweight denim. Thanks for the review and inspiration 🥰💞
Hi Shutoka, I have this pattern and haven't made it yet. Really appreciated the info you provided, especially regarding the fabric choices you used in your makes and the flappy things on your knit version. I was happily surprised to hear you say that it is a quick make. Love your videos! Angela
You look beautiful in all 3! I agree about slowing down ! I recently became more mindful & intentional with my own makes. Thank you for the nudge I needed to start this coat!!!!
Thank you for sharing. I have this pattern in my collection and haven’t made it, but want to. Your video motivated me to make it. Thank you very much!!!
Shutoka, thank you for your info on this pattern! I’m going to make it but haven’t bought fabric for it yet. I wondered what kind of fabric you would recommend? I would want a warmer one, but not a coat. I’d like it to drape like on the pattern. I’m terrible at choosing fabric, and I’ve never made anything like this. I appreciate your help!
You are so welcome! I'd suggest a canvas fabric for this coat joanns usually have it on sale this heavier than cotton but light enough to not be too hot

Looks great!!
I love the color! I’m gonna find that pattern.
Your Hong Kong finish or French seams would be great to do if you are not wanting to do a lining for this coat.
Nice Review! Thanks!
