I've found that the plastic leveling boards bow over time. I now use a glass sheet and use leveling feet. The best thing I did.

Your bloom needs to resemble skim milk. Also smooth out the ends of your white to stop blobs. This was the first thing I ever tried and on my 3rd attempt got it. So anyone can do blooms it's just practice. My suggestion is use a small mold that holds maybe an ounce especially when practicing
