Learn how to scissor a dogs tail using straight scissors.

********Mel's top 3 tips for scissoring tails*********
1. Brush all knots and tangles before you begin trimming the tail. This will ensure your scissor work is even. Brushing with the direction of the coat on the tail. This is usually brushing down.
2. Always hold the tip of the tail when brushing and scissoring as this will ensure the comb will NOT get caught and you will NOT cut the tip of the tail when scissoring.
3. When shaping the hair on the tail try and following the shape of the tail. Mileys tail curves over her back, so we scissored her tail with the curve.

1. which curved scissors would you recommend for a beginner at home groomer ?
2. have you ever used the Kenchii love scissors? would you recommend them or the ones you use in this video for a beginner home groomer?
3. which clipper would you say would be a good place to start? I have looked up the one that you use , but I think Id like to start with a lower priced one to start with . is there any makes / models you would say are good ? I have seen lots from andis and Wahl but there are so many models.

I have been looking at oz grooming website a lot (trying to decide on different clippers and scissors ). thank you , I know exactly what to get now :)
I was leaning towards the km 10 as I was watching a heap of videos that loved them, but thought is it too much for a home groomer that is only grooming her own dog. do you think one of the ones you suggested would be just as good as say the km10? that they would cut through the hair of my cavoodle just as easily ? thank you so so much .
