Very good video…..no BS and very precise. I just did my 2.4liter on my Saturn vue and this video was one of the best. Thank you ! (I ended up watching it 4-5times).

Thanks for the video. I’m in the middle of a eco tech 2.4 timing chain and balance chain replacement now. There is a lot of shade tree videos out there but yours was detailed and precise.

Hello,. I am changing a 2010 Chevy Equinox 2.4l Ecotec timing chain set and cylinder head. I was told that the VVT sprockets from the 2010 Chevy Ecotec LAF model engine have different set up points than the 2011 or newer Ecotec engines. Most videos online show the VVT sprockets being lined up so the marks are at 10 and 2 with the #1 cylinder at tdc on the compression stroke. On those videos the VVT Sprockets are both the same part

I am doing a 2.2 ecotech, and when I removed the cam sprockets, both shafts rotated a little bit. How do I fix this? Your video was perfect! It allowed me to get the balancing on correctly. Thanks!

I know this is off topic but was wondering if you could answer a Honda car question. I've got an HRV with around 70k miles on it. The dealership keeps asking me to do a 'fuel induction cleaning service'. Is that something that is just fluff for the service department to make money or really a good idea to have done? I've read mixed reviews on this topic. This might even be a good episode topic? You surely would have the knowledge with your Honda experience. Thanks for any insight 👍

I bought both kits for 2005 Sunfire. off of Amazon. They were in Cloyes boxes but they were made in CHINA!!!! I thought they were made in Arkansas. Have you seen some Cloyes made in China? .How you get the cam sprockets and balancer/crank pulley lined up? To get the bolt off of the crank, it moved a lot to the left. When you look straight on at the timing chains etc, does the crank pulley only turns to the right/clockwise? I know I can do this but I'm not sure if it's in the right spot before I take it apart. Thanks

hey quick question, I screwed up my crank shaft key tightening my crank pulley down improperly :( am i gona have to pretty much get a whole engine or is there a Fix?

  • @JCGible

How would you go about changing the hydraulic lifters? I wish I didn't have to remove the main chain.

  • @nextdoorpowerwashing8340

So I did my wife’s 2012 terrain 2.4L.. how do I know if I have it at TDC on the exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke?

  • @johnbrooks2122

For some reason my balancing shaft bolt on the gear keeps coming off I've had to take my car apart two or 3 times

  • @noneyabiz8225

I have lined the marks up and when hand cranking it around (several revolutions) the timing marks do not realign back up..is it suppose to be that way?
