You know, that green lizard in outskirts during the start may have been following you around so much bevause you accidentally tamed em. Im not sure if you noticed. Its something monk is good at doing since they havre positive starting reputation with all creatures!
Thank Cat God for these guides. I got this game expecting to enjoy it, thinking it was a metroidvania of sorts... boy was I wrong. The game has so little tutorialization and so much thrown at you at once that it gets confusing fast. I would be clueless without something like this.
I love how the MC is just a silly lil slugcat looking for their family but then 5 pebs accidentally sends them to find enlightenment. Like, does the slugcat even understand its own ascension?
I have a question. Does the void sea essentially kill you off for good but shows you what you want to see before you cease to exist, giving you peace? (So in reality you didn’t really meet survivor as monk and as survivor you didn’t really meet your slugcat family? The void just made it seem like you did to give you peace before you like disintegrate?)
@@longplaytv4402 right?! It’s so grim lol but something about it makes the game kinda cool but I dig the new downpour ending too 😎 I like my sluggies alive
It's up to interpretation. I took it to have more of a transcendent meaning, as in reunification with the lost ones and then some. But the thought occurs to me that the little one may have been simply abducted by cosmic horrors and placed into their collection shelf. It sorta goes against the narrative of the game IMO but it's one way to think about it lol.
i accidentaly got Stolen enlightenment while trying to drop a pearl for them, and i felt so terrible i restarted my entire savefile, despite knowing the pain it would bring to future me.
After lots of suffering I’ve finally made it to Five Pebbles! I keep getting eaten by DLLs though, at 2:09:11 I keep going right instead of upward. There’s a gravity timed portion that should be easier than it is.
Hey buddy, great long play. I wish I could finish watching it but I don't wanna spoil myself more than I had already done. 25:40 You do which looks like a double jump on the wall. Am I missing something or I see things where there aren't?
Yep, those paths through the pipes have platforms in between. The solid black lines are platforms you can jump through up and down to make it up. Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video!
I usually stop there and haven't had any problems, at least in the version prior to the new DLC when this was recorded. I'll have to try on the update and see if it still works.
@@Twst3628 Wait, have they fixed this problem yet? like, when I slept upstairs, the door would get buggy and you could only get out of there through the teleport, and that place was impossible to enter with monk
Nice walkthrough, you’re helping a lot Also I’m having trouble going up at 58:33, some kind of current makes my slugcat stuck to the left wall and it makes that I can’t get more up, is it a problem with my screen’s size? (it is closer to the edge of the Rainworld screen than it is in the video) Edit: I changed the screen size in the game’s settings and now it works! (but now I’m being focused on by a vulture)
Totally agree! I feel like I've played enough to memorize most of the map, but I still get lost in some parts. Kind of open world in a way, but definitely more difficult depending on which ways you go.
That's the karma level you're at. If it flashes red, that means your level isn't high enough. Just eat and rest and you'll see the karma scale go up. Once the symbols match, or yours is higher on the scale, you can pass through.
Five Pebbles is a hell i dead 97 times here lol, im only rushed this game for play relax with hunter. If it weren't for the larva Spider-Man, wouldn't have gotten this far.
Shaded Citadel can be pretty brutal just to navigate. One thing I do is use the map frequently so you can actually see the paths and the climbable poles without needing light. That makes it a bit easier. Also, the lizards are blind, but can hear really well in this area. So crawl around when you see they are near and throw things in other areas to distract them 👍
You don't have to for game completion, but that is the way to get the lore. There's some pretty cool dialogue bringing the pearls over, but totally optional if you just want to get the endings.
This is for me later, up left take the tube save go back down hard right go in the tube swim right ignore tube go down in the next tube left save left left go in tube get air left up swim right up go in tube right don’t fall go in tube up up tube don’t save then save left your here
Do you mean walking by those characters at the end? They won't attack if your Karma is high enough which you increase your max when visiting Five Pebbles or the echoes. Once you get into the depths, there is a room that sets your Karma up to max again if you've died (3:49:00). If you try to go straight down from the start, they won't let you pass.
I adore these long play throughs they help me relax and pass time when I can't sleep at night
Same rn
I use them to finish the game
In the DLC, monk's intentional route is outskirts -> drainage system -> garbage wastes
Monk has higher lung capacity than survivor (DLC enabled)
I might need to do new versions of the original slugcats after Downpour. Some differences would be cool to see!
I’m at the industrial site…
@@SideOrderly no problem. Keep moving forward. You can visit drainage later if you want...

I love how the MC is just a silly lil slugcat looking for their family but then 5 pebs accidentally sends them to find enlightenment. Like, does the slugcat even understand its own ascension?
I mean, we see different slugcats during the end of the ascension scene, so there’s a chance monk could’ve found their family/survivor there.
Probably not
the monk looks like a little banana and i love it
that ending has got to be one of the most emotional experiences I’ve had in a game, just wow.
