I’m praying you get the rain that’s in the forecast today. I am a retired dairy fieldman from ConAgra Foods Menomonie, Wi. AOC said, we don’t need farmers because there are grocery stores. Pray for our country!
I Love a Rainy Night or day, especially with a tin roof. My second fave hangout as a kid was the tractor shed -- tin roof big overhang above door, facing away from weather. And a tin roof. First fav was top of an apple tree, with a book. Smooth bark and a comfy tree crotch. I could watch the world go by. See the neighbors going to and fron fields. Toward fall, I could pick apples for snacks. The apple trees were stronger than the peach trees. We had multiple orchards, a huge market garden just below my fave apple trees. Lots of grass to mow. Some as loose hay, for chicken houses, some to surround d the flower beds and house and out buildings. Dad loved land scapi g. We also had a small evergreen tree farm. Sold foundation plantings and live balled, burlap wrapped Christmas trees. On weekends, we went to home farm, walked and repaired fence lines. Counted resident live stock-- Herford beef cattle, to make sure no one, including massive resident bull, had gone walk about. That was rare. Uncles who lived there full time, did head counts daily. Just being responsible. My next door neighbors for the last 42 years, have the best fences I've ever seen. Also have a very musical herd bull this spring. He has that low bass rumbling going on, but also calls and bellows. Good memories when all the neighbors kept herd bulls. Spring was as much about the birds defending territory as bulls making music to entertain his ladies.
The last couple Summers, Ive begged you guys to share some rain with us. Now? Gads, I wish we could share some of this unreal moisture hitting us. We are flooding, banks giving way so a couple barns are at risk of falling.... just a muddy MESS. So here's me wishing you some good soaking RAINS! 🤠
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Busy time getting things set up for the herd in summer time sun and heat. Those sun shades you have work good. Watch those bad guys doing the stealing. Glad your dad checked that car out. You never know who is doing what. You drilled that small three acres. Might just be too dry for that seed to work. Keep a close eye on it. Might have to reseed it. We had that before and had to redo after we got some moisture. Know you will watch it. Like your mail box. Make sure it stays standing. Ours was always being knocked over or bent over. You and dad do a good job of moving and rounding up herd. Pretty darn good at it. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
It's easy, convenient, and routine to carry a sidearm on my farm. That allows me to confront issues immediately and without hesitation. Beit a 2 or 4 legged varmint.
Hi ya boys , looking extra good today in your clean matching shirts, thanks for feeding us you do a great job with the videos, always enjoy them stay safe stay strapped, love and respect from the old woman in Oklahoma❣🤗👋
One or two of 'em was tryin' to "hog" the camera Cole set up for their photo day!! Must think they might have a second career as a chik-n chain "spokescow"¿? 👀🤣🙃😆🙂🙃🤣
Sure appreciate your videos. I never miss one. Can't figure out if I'm sad I don't get to do any farmwork anymore or happy that I don't have to farm anymore. A little of both I guess.
Don't bad guys drive black vans? I'm trying for a little splash on the weekend. I'm anxious to see your would I list for rain. It's great that you provide shade for the critters. I'm crossing my fingers for weekend rain. Good video, Pax.
Cole, you could use getting a grey baseball cap to match your dad’s; then you’d really get closer to rocking that t-shirt! You’d be much closer to your dad’s elevated level of ranching & farming
I see a new squeeze chute, Brian & the trailer. Looks like it works. I hope you get rain. The biggest and most used word on a farm is IF. We have been blessed with good rain all this year in Alabama. So much rain & so often, it's difficult to get hay cut & bailed. Get a rain soon!
Yesterday it was 85° degrees, today 68° degrees here in Grand View Wisconsin near lake Superior's south shore in Bayfield county Wisconsin. Now it's 58° degrees
Great to see the way Brian and Cole work together like a well organized team.. A calf try’s to get around one and the other one has it covered. Way to go
I hope y’all get a decent bit of moisture to help with the crop but I literally had to pause when you zoomed in on the cows doing the dance haha I love it
That is too cool! Flipping the wind breaks to make shade cover. Can you tell I don't know anything about cattle farming? But, you guys are educating me. Love it!
Brian and Cole. Found you guys a few months ago. Enjoyed very much keeping up with you both and farms activities. Also going back to videos over the years. Keep it up. I'm here for the long run. Your friend, Gale
I long for the rainy nights of the 70's, I only got Wook up once this past spring by a small thunderstorm. Seemed like when I was a kid it was a weekly occurrence. I can't remember a year that by June 7th the lawn has only had to be mowed twice in my area. makes you long for the sounds of the rainstorm in Paul McCartney's Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey song. Thanks for taking us along, likely be fence mending time soon I bet.
Liars and thieves have their place in this world , under about 8' of manure . Works great I heard. Those wind / sun panels are the neatest thing since sliced bread !
It is a great viewing pleasure to watch you guys work as a team on your cattle ! Thanks for sharing your day to day experience…..praying for rain in SD
Hello Cole and Brian! Liked the song, I love a rainy night by Eddie Rabbit, good pick for song of the day. I also liked the explanation of why you put the limited amount of cow/calf pair on the pasture, that's just something that some may not know about. Your heifers got right under the shades/windbreaks once you flipped them, really enjoyed the video, thanks Cole! I hope you all have a great remainder of the week, stay safe!
Love the videos !. Especially when the closed captions adds it's own element. I had no idea you could wrangle capitals. But you guys make it look easy. ❤ Still praying for rain !
I love a rainy night and it makes me high…I finally got to start catching up on your videos. Gosh I’ve missed you guys! It’s been a rough couple of weeks but tomorrow 6/27 is my birthday so I’m going to binge watch this evening and call it my birthday binge bash. Here goes! Storla Station
Continued prayers for rain. We got about a 1/4-1/2 inch yesterday but need steady rain desperately in Maryland also. We are also dealing with horrible air quality because of Quebec wildfire smoke.
I think almost every farmer is praying for Rain live in the Pacific Northwest and there is dairy farms that have irrigation going on week old planted corn
6:20 'rent has gone up twice in the past two years' - that's basic supply and demand, the landlord see's the price of beef go up, he can raise the rent. If you could rent it to a corn farmer and get better rent for that land he would do it, but apparently you are paying the highest price and your income is going up so he can raise the rent.
Perfect song of the day I Would Love a Rainy Night in north central Wisconsin too. Heck, You Can Rock Me Like a Hurricane as long as there isn't THAT much wind. Geez that's a lot of dust you are rolling too UGH!!
we are dry here to in north east ia. Another week of no rain we will be in trouble. 1st crop was about 75,% of last year. We are headed ro huron on 3 weeks. prime time tavern and starla station on my list
Some kinda purty neat!! BRIAN!! Saw ya with those two pinned against the trailer!! That was some pretty sharp wranglin there buddy!! Heck fire, John Wayne couldn'ta done it any better iffin he wrote the script himself!! I'm impressed!! Cole, I liked the camera on the shelter when you tipped it up. I nearly fell out of my chair but it looked darn good. And I do really appreciate the explanations of the reasons for pasture changes, grass heights, topping it, and waiting for rain. That is very interesting to me. Thanks for allowing me along on all of this. I know it makes your jog a lot more complicated to drag, set, fetch, load, unload, charge, reposition, move, and otherwise manage the cameras. I appreciate all your efforts there and especially the editing. I know the video is MADE in the editing Great job man. Thanks again.
I watch several farm shows on youtube. I enjoy Sonne farms thr most. Watching your dad and you take care of tbem cattle is so rewarding. Id give anything to be able to work with my dad one more time. Keep it up Sonne farmers!
Very nice looking replacement heifers. This years calf crop look great! The 2 bulls you videoed going to work are handsome boys. I am looking forward to the calf tour video. Hoping you will show the bulls & talk a little about their pedigree. And, compare offspring from the different bulls, the differences in usual birth weights, frame, size, confirmation & maybe grade at sale of past offspring sired. Could help people getting into the cattle business an idea of what to look for & bloodline(s) they might want to pursue when buying cows / heifers & a bull.
I'll tell you guys a little somethin'. You have to protect what's yours. I know you don't like links in these comments, so google this...'Yuba County great-grandma stabs suspected burglar''. It's right at the top. That was me and it happened a few years ago. That gal broke into the wrong house at 9:00 am while I was home alone, and she had a really bad day, BUT... if she hadn't been between me and my 12ga, she'd of had an even badder day. The newspaper got some of it wrong (big surprise). I got her with a kitchen steak knife, but she wasn't trying to leave, she had me down on the floor in the kitchen and she outweighed me by about a hundred pounds. Anyway, be careful. Thieves are pretty bold these days. Loved the video and I hope you guys get some rain.

I love seeing Brian and Cole joking around….Reminds me of when my dad and I worked out on the farm together….
Cole there is nothing better than a rainy afternoon and evening pure enjoyment 😉

I'll say a prayer for some rain. Canada got some good rain in the past week. Let's hope those storms drop south.
sad the whole family not working on what your family have built, congratulations to Cole for taking care of the family lands. would love to have that.
Neighbours look after each other just like you were watching out for your neighbours ❤
I just love those wind break/sun shade thingies, whoever invented them was really thinking.
It's easy, convenient, and routine to carry a sidearm on my farm. That allows me to confront issues immediately and without hesitation. Beit a 2 or 4 legged varmint.
Even the belly crawlers too. I confronted one of those today but it is no mo!
For animals and hatefuls.

Great way to work those babies by the trailer… two at a time is probably less stressful as you work them. The Buddy system is a great system!
Continued prayers for all farmers, ranchers, and the wildfire fighters. Let it rain!
I LOVE working cattle. I mean I love watching YOU guys work cattle.
Sonne Farms. A well oiled machine in action.
Awesome thanks. Will keep the faith and prayers for rain

I’d like to see you, Brian & Jeff do a rain dance, maybe to I love a rainy night. 😂😢LOL I’m sure Tiffany would record it for you.
Rain dance is 100% successful if performed the day before it rains, .........

Good thing about having all that land and equipment is that you can hide the evidence of the thieves demise after you've caught them 🤨
Don't forget there's a pen of hogs over at Jeff's.

It's nice that those wind/shade structures are just too big to flip them by hand. That would be a long day.
You make columns like I do, crooked as hell. You really take good care of your animals. Another great video, but then again, they are all good.
