This is the only techtuber who is comparing this card against its actual competition instead of treating it like any other GPU. This is a device for a specific use case - thanks ETA
And the A2000 wins in every metric. Plus it uses all 16 lanes so you can upgrade older machines without worrying about bottlenecks.
@@MyNameIsBucket except price metric.
@@MyNameIsBucket Except it is way more expensive
@@MyNameIsBucketExcept the A2000 is almost 3 to 4 times more expensive for the 12gb model

Please make a budget mini pc build with this graphics card. This card looks like a game changer for the mini pc builders out there
I just like seeing cards that don't require external power. They're the only thing you can use in a lot of prebuilt PCs.
depending on the psu you can convert sata to 6 pin
@@josephdias5859
Take a look in an HP prebuilt. They have zero extra connections on the power supplies.
Even the power for the 1 Sata connection is routed though the motherboard.
I.e. The power supply connects to the motherboard, the motherboard supplies power to the Sata drive via a proprietary cable.
@@josephdias5859 Safe too! (not)
@@josephdias5859 Well it's not really necessary considering the PCIe slot will supply enough power...also even though it would be safe since SATA cables can readily supply 75w, it's probably better not to do it...
@@catraaa5261 just a pci express slot for power doesn't leave you with a lot options though especially good ones a chinese rx 6600m desktop variant only uses 85 watts at full load so its not too much on a sata power cable less than some hard drives only needing 10 watts from the pci express. Also undervolting will make pretty much 6 pin gpu work off sata power without causing any issues the big problem would be using a 8 pin to two pci express power cables because that will overload the psu 12 volt rail
Is this the beginning of a new era? ETA PRIME did a comparison chat at 4:36 for the first time in all of his videos I've watched! Keep this up dude. This is a welcome development.
the new era became when he didn't care about us just the money
a better one would be a game comparison graph for each card
I just got this card and is so power efficient is crazy. It works out of the box in a 180w PSU.
La tienes en qué máquina? Una Optiplex?
@@superchopo63perhaps gamemax violin itx case that come with 180w flex psu
No power requirement other than what pcie provides seals the deal for me.
I got a low profile A380 and dropped in in a Lenovo SFF with 6th gen I5. Haven't run anything too extreme but works well for Rimworld and video streaming.
Have you benchmarked it? I was considering a380 for my 9th gen lenovo thinkcentre tiny but every review of the card concluded that it loses way too much performance without rebar/sam to be worth it.
Does it work for yuzu?
@@manuelfabris7541 Yeah I think so. Just search '3050 6Gb yuzu' and then you'll see it runs fine. Switch is low specced and has an Nvidia GPU.
I am a bit surprized at this, because a 6th gen system shouldn't support resizable bar. Even the A380 relies on that, if I recall correctly. But I could be wrong!
Does a 6th gen i5 support Resizable BAR? Are you sure about this? I mean Rimworld is not exactly a demanding game, but perhaps you getting a fraction of the performance there and you don't even realize it.
Looking forward to your build with this card!
What a good and detailed review! Great video.
Well I'll be damned, ETA finally included a comparison chart. Has hell frozen over or something? 😂
He probably had to pay for it himself ie not sponsered.
Just a couple of years left, and i can finally build a SFF PC for Media and Retro-Gaming up to PS3/Xbox! Cant wait!
I think we can count our blessings here on this one. We are used to Nvidia ignoring the bottom end. So what did we get? We got a replacement for the LP GTX1650. We got a card with PCIE 4.0 x8 so we don't have to deal with the x4 issues of the RX6400. We have encoding, so we can stream and do all the fun software encoding we need to on the card (unlike the RX6400 & 6500). We have performance that is better than the GTX 1650 for about the same release price as the 1650 LP. And we are about $50-70 cheaper than most cheap used A2000s AND the card is new under warranty, AND has all the original accessories including the LP bracket. Sure the A2000 is better, but even used it's more expensive AND for now the 3050 is mostly available. I am glad to see this and it needed to happen. Now check your optiplex or HP office PC for the correct x16 slot and put this card in there ^_^
EXACTLY. It has a warranty. Though the A2000 could be had for $250 on Amazon, it now goes for about $525. This has sufficient performance for 1080P, and it has a lot of modern features the 1650 doesn't.
It is interesting to see Nvidia make a lunge for the low-end market where AMD and Intel are supposed to play. I would like to see a 70-watt low-profile RX7500 (let's not have two somewhat close SKUs like we do with the 6400/6500. I would also like to see an Intel A380 replacement with about double the power.
The other wildcard in this segment is the RTX 2000 Ada Generation. It is supposed to retail for about $650. The unknown piece is what will it do to A2000 prices. Will they go down or up?
Unless its a SFF Optiplex 3020 with the x16 slot right next to the power supply so it won't fit :( LP just isn't small enough here, it has to be single slot, too.
@@davidbedard3201 Crossing my fingers for AMD's answer to this. But it needs to come soon because I'm almost pulling the trigger on this one. I'm so happy that Nvidia made a replacement for the 1650 which they're discontinuing plus with this you'll get many more years of driver support.
Nice, I was wondering about RTX 4000 Ada SFF reviewed here next 😊
That thing just costs too much
or the more reasonable (but still high priced) RTX 2000 Ada
That low profile 4060 is still better unfortunately
I've been subbed for years and I personally think it would be worth seeing a more standardized benchmarking suite with the same exact settings. You review enough hardware that I think it would be a meaningful addition to each video. Have lists that compare all LP's in 1080p low, medium, and high settings for each game. Same with Igpu's/apu's and sbc's in 720p/1080p or similar.
I think you have looked over a very important use case. I want one from the home server to encode and decode video for Jellyfin and AI compute of an NVR system. Plus ther are more and more locally hosted LLMs for many purposes that would benefit from having Cuda compute power behind it.
I'm looking to upgrade my low profile PC and this video has been very useful 😀
Too late for me, they can sell a lot of this cards a year ago without problems.
We beg for a decent low profile card a long time ago, they lost the chance.
Im happy with my A2000, MSI version can run quieter for the fans (i had a 750ti Low Profile from MSI and you cant hear the fans even with GPU usage maxed out)
ETA Prime I was on Amazon today and noticed a second Gigabyte 4060 LP GPU but it was $386 and the one you have been showing was $329. The $329 had a GPU clock speed of 1830 and the $386 one had a GPU clock speed of 2475. Just wondering had you seen it and would love a comparison of the two. I do see errors on listings on some things but I also would love to the MinisForum BD790i with the 4060 LP in a 5L case... Great video as always.
Comparison graphs! Finally!!
Great video as always. I have a spare Optiplex SFF with i5 6th Gen. I was planning to put a 1650 in here on the 1st pcie slot which is an x4 open slot. Will the 3050 LP makes a big diff?
By far the best channel. Many if not all dont see the rtx 3050 6gb is the successor to the aging gtx 1650. All are just comparing it to the regular 3050. It’s would be nice if you can include more comparisons between the cards. Great job! Thank you
It smokes the competition, which wasn’t hard to do against a newbie with no skills & an even more cut down Gpu from Amd….
What's really crazy is how close to this price I still see gtx1650 and 1050ti low profile cards. There is definitely a market for low profile cards.
Waiting for the internet to start doing some more videos on the RTX 4000 Ada SFF. I’ve only seen two videos on it come out within the last year. Though I know the price is outrageous for the card but I have my fingers crossed it will show up here on the channel! Much love!
I was just getting ready to watch a video of the 4000 ADA SFF vs. the 4060 LP. Search for the RTX 4000ADA SFF vs. Gigabyte 4060 LP OC-SFF Showdown. Not sure if this is one you have watched.
@@heirtothethrone000i did see that one! im very impressed with the card! i just wish it wasnt sooo expensive its my dream to have a tiny set up in like the Jonplus BO 100 with this card!
Just pulled the trigger on getting one, going from a RX 570 to this will be good, i can swap everything back to my other case i think with this card, Eve and WoW are my only games i do, lol. so I think ill be good.
Great card to use in a second streaming pc as a way to take the extra load off a main gaming system. Has the Rtx broadcast capability which is frankly great. Has a good nvenc encoder and doesn’t need a pcie power connector. I’d never use it to game on, but as a secondary gpu in a dedicated streaming rig you can’t really argue with how perfect this is.
I LOVE the sff stuff! this is something I like to think about.
I like how the 14700K was asleep through most of the test.
Already got an RTX A2000 which is pretty much the same card. Good video though.
would be cool if you could do some emulation testing up to switch with it so we can concider a small factor Batocera console for a big TV screen
emulation depends first on the cpu, gpu is last
@@betag24cn yea, but still important. I've changed from 570 to 6600 and definitely noticed quite an improvement both ryujin and yuzu
@@cocobos but is not as deep as running those gpus in normal games, but if you install a 4 cores cpu you will see a change for the worse, but a 6 or 8 cores will do just fine
keep in mind this gpu is considerably weaker than the 6600 you mention there, so it will not be a viable option for you, some reviews put it 60% behind the rx6600, but that would be important for normal games, for emulation both should be enough for 1080 emulating anything
tbh i personally no longer emulate anything, too much hassle, to find the rom and make the emulator work, no time for that, i barely have time to play normal games now
i hope you can emulate a classic or two
@@betag24cn But it's considerable faster than a 1650 so PS2 in 4K should run fine anyway. And a lot of other systems also. For most Emulation 4 fast cores with Hyperthreading are enough if they are highly clocked enough. Xbox classic runs fine on a 960 and i3 10105F anyway. So if I would use a 3040 even 1440p should run great and maybe even 4K is possible.
love the cpu headroom ! lol! i know we wanna max gpu to 100% but 7% cpu usage damn hahah
I like the graphics chart comparison. Nice touch.
So this card looks like similar in performance to a GTX 1660 Super, or am I mistaken?
Wow that is a nice little card. Thanks, You Rock. :)
I would love to see a video on the A2000 ADA with it compared to the original a2000 and more lp gpu’s. Would be interesting to see
you can put this in an Intel NUC (specifically the "extreme models" you can usually tell if you can put a gpu in it if there's empty slots in the back) and spend no more than $500
You could possibly run the fans off a motherboard fan header with an adaptor to give the GPU as little more power head room with the 70 watt TDP. I did this with a RTX A2000
That's such an interesting idea. How much extra power did that give you?
I'm not seeing the A2000 for around $230 used anymore, they're around $300 for the 6GB variants and much more for the 12GB variants. :/
This 3050 is a much better value these day it seems.
Compared to the rx6400 though? Worth the upgrade?
In one of your other clips you talk about the RTX A2000 and that in stock it is like a RTX 3050 but it gets much more powerful if you overclock it. Does it work in the same way with this GPU? (I have the RTX A2000 for one of my SFF builds) I really like those small GPUs! If it is possible to OC the RTX 3050 like the RTX A2000 you don´t have to rely on used GPUs and can buy a new GPU. Especially because graphics cards are more expensive in Germany than in the USA.
I would love to see RX6400 vs RTX3050 side by side Gaming test and emulation
the 3050 even being stripped out many aspects will still be more powerful than the 6400, as it matches the 6500xt
3050 is more powerful than 6500xt
Guys guys, I just want to see the test, I'm sure RTX 3050 is more powerful than RX 6400, I want to see the battle of low profile cards😅
Thank you for finally giving context after benchmarks, even if it's not super controlled and scientific it helps put perspective to the performance
Interesting low power/profile GPU. I'm curious if my Ryzen 5 5600/X470-i media pc would benefit using PCI-E 3. Can't wait to see your moderately priced pc will be. Thanks ETA Prime.
I started with the RTX 3050 in my first PC build a couple of years ago. I still have a soft spot for that card.
It's actually a decent card. My kid used it for a couple of years and does well for gaming and vr. I just finally replaced it with my 3060 since I have finally transitioned to a770. That 3050 is going to replace my little sister's 1650s.
I'm doing something similar! Gradually upgrading my own PC, and then using my old parts to put together a beginner gaming PC for my nieces.@@azntactical4884
One very important thing to note is that this is the 3050 6GB version. It has a smaller bus and fewer Cuda cores and SMs than the full-sized 3050 8GB. This is pretty much a 3040 or 3030.
Nvidia T400 still best price/perf for sff single slot emulation build with dell,hp etc
Are low profile brackets for the same model of graphics card usable across multiple brands? I'm thinking of dumping a GTX 750 into an old fourth generation computer, but all the low-pro brackets available for the GTX 750 are for Gigabyte, not EVGA.
ETA prime I would like to know the Lenova Legion go is great to run retro games neo, Geo everything
Awesome review, would love an OC version with 8gbs of ram. Glad to see low profile cards still being made, plenty of sff desktops can be capable gaming machines with cards like this. Lenovo, Dell and HP come to mind.
8GB would be really great, we don’t have many options for SFF LP GPUs so I’m glad to see a new option hit the market
IMO the additional power connector on the "4060" isn't a bad thing at all, means we finally have a fast option for LP cards that are not restricted to slot power.
On i7-3770, 300W PSU, 16GB DDR3-1600, 1290x1200 monitor & GTX 1650 LP GDDR5 OC (PCIe v3 x16 slot). Want to give my system one last boost & GPU is only upgrade option. Would one of these make more sense than RTX A2000 6GB? Can still get good £ back for the 1650 & used A2000 similar price to new 3050 LP
Single slot is my fave though
Can you make an emulation rig with this low-profile rtx 3050? Similar to your 1660S/3060 for emulation video. Curious to see if it’ll emulate at 4K.
I was gifted a dell prescion t5500 recently, and i was thinking about updating it. Would one of these cards work with it?
I think a RTX 4060 version of this would make more sense, Ada Lovelace is much more efficient than Amprere (they could even use a smaller cooler on it)
But there is a low profile 4060? Or did you mean pcie power only? I'm confused
@@MrDrewsephThere is a low profile 4060 8gb but it requires external power, it uses around 115w
I'm thinking rtx 4060 lp down clock to fit in 75w case. Wonder how the performance we can get?
I've been looking for a RTX A2000 for $199. for months now. I have not seen it anywhere near that price but I'll keep looking. I need it for SolidWorks CAD so I have to have a workstation GPU.

@@natecasey2009 $250 is about as low as I've seen them go for. Good find.
I don't know where you're seeing A2000 6GB cards for $230? Just looking on Amazon, the cheapest option was $310, pretty much what they sell for on eBay. Finding one for $250, let alone $200 is going to take some luck because those will be bought up in a flash. Considering people pay $170 to $180 for used 1650's on eBay, this at the same price for a new card, is pretty good for a SFF. Unless you're willing to spend $300+ this is the SFF card on the market. I agree that it should have had 8GB and it would be nice if there were a single slot option for those OEM system so people would stop suggesting the 6400. It's too bad they're all dual slot.
I personally bought one through reddit for $230 just a few weeks ago.
Even used on ebay the used price is more like $350 or higher.
@@harveysmith4424And I bought one from a friend with a T1000 for $250 for both... that's not a realistic expectation for people. I got lucky and so did you. The average price of the 6GB model is about $300. Just because it's possible to buy it at that price on an off chance, doesn't mean that is the price.
@@Kanbei7Yeah, the prices are nuts. I imagine people are buying them for some use case, like AI, or some other compute tasks. The A2000 should be ignored at it's current price point and people should just go for the 4060.

Hi, I´m looking on making a steam box using chimera, and I want it to be all amd and small as possible, do you have any recommendations for a amd low profile gpu with 8gb??
Around 200€ in my country. Performance/price ratio not good, rather buy used. But for a low profile/low power system I guess it is a good option.
EDIT1 - Would have been good to compare it to the normal RTX3050 or RX6600 as those are the cheapest recommended cards out there.
EDIT2 - Going with Time Spy score, RTX3050 6GB seems much slower than RTX3050 8GB and even GTX1660(non Super or ti). It is basically a GTX1650 Super with 6GB, DLSS/RTX support and much more efficient.
One channel, Aussies, in particular rubbishes this card completely without even considering that it's target market is not compromised of gaming nerds testing and looking at fps longer than actually playing. 😂
As far as I'm concerned they are snobs looking down at people just wanting to use a computer to game, rather than buying a gaming computer. This card is the gateway drug to convert console users to PC users, when suddenly a desktop computer is playing the latest games, albeit at lower quality, but still way better than ps4. Not needing the extra power connector makes all the difference, most people wouldn't think of opening their office PC and taking out the power supply and disconnecting it from maybe even proprietary devices like the motherboard connector (like OEMs often do). But slotting a card in like this? Easy, quick, voids no warranty, requires no special PSU, works on office PC's.🎉
When it comes to these low profile, lower cost cards, I say go ahead and push the graphics settings as hard as you can to get the best appearance without dipping the frame rate below 30 fps. It's not like it's a full blown, no tradeoff, high end PC where you're trying to maintain over 100 FPS with ultra settings in the newest games. You'd be amazed at how high some of the settings can be all be pushed if you are fine with only getting 50 FPS with the occasional 30 FPS dip.
I was really curious when this released how it actually compared to the 1650 and if it was worth the upgrade, I am actually really surprised how well it performs.
I hope you can review the galax rtx 4060 ti single slot when its release soon
btw for u guys dont need any high tier or super GPU if u only play Apex legend Valorant DOTA 2 LOL or CS2 mainly/daily.. these type of games arent GPU demand its more to CPU...dont be afraid pairing high end CPU with ant low tier GPU u wont get bottleneck if ur main games are more on CPU demand.
Is the a2000 you compare with the 6gb or 12 gb version?
I tossed my ITX case that required a single-slot video card. I lost hope in finding a good card that fit.
I was just watching the 4060 video when I got this recommended and I just saw the date. I thought I had notifications enabled wtf?
Wanting to build a home server soon, I have an AMD 5600 I’m planning to use and I’m now debating between the a2000 and 3050 6gb.
Wish there were affordable AM5 itx boards.....(maybe they do exist but not in my country)
How's the fan noise on this thing? I have a 1650 Super low profile that sounds like a leaf blower that I'd like to replace but not if this is just as noisy.
I don't know until they make a single slot version that can actually fit in an optiplex, it's just not as exciting. When you get those cards that are like 100 bucks and you can put it in a $150 used office PC and you're getting big time performance fr nothing I'm all in ... like the rx6400 when it first came out
Yeah that's my jam too
would it fit the itx computer 1- case by TE?

Hey ETA, great videos as always, but I got 1 question.
Would it be possible for you to make comparison of all those low profile GPUs of yours in 1 video?
Just like that Time Spy score chart at 4:37 - but with games too :D
just for a nice comparison :)
Seconded!
Im looking for a capable VGA with under 100 Wattage. In my area, 3050 LOW, is priced at US$ 191. How is this card compared with Arc A380 (US$ 120)?
will this work with optiplex 3060 sff?
I’m trying to build a HTPC and emulator for my 4k tv. Would this with a ryzen 5700g be good enough? My case (CiT S8) only has a 300W psu and is half height expansions
Should compare it to the AMD 8700G with the 780m to see if it's cheaper and better to get an ITX pc with LP GPU.
The 3050 6GB is a dream come true for me as im a very conservative person when it comes to electric bills and with a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32GB its juts perfect for me (600w power supply)
Hope Palit sends you the RTX 3050 6GB KalmX to test out.

The BEST!
ETA Prime, thanks so much for this video! I look forward to your SFF build.
A2000 prices are all over the place, and I do want a card with a good warranty, so I got pretty excited when I saw this unit. I would like to see how it does in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart in your SFF build. It is the only game my laptop 3060 mobile struggles with at 1080P, which I think is down to the VRAM amount and throughput.
I am looking at pairing the 3050 6GB with a new HP 400 G9 SFF, or going full recycler and pairing it with an HP 800 G5 Core i7-9700, though I am also interested in seeing how the new RTX 2000 Ada Generation 16GB stacks up against the Ampere A2000. I suspect it will be a better value, though the A2000 12GB has faster VRAM.
The cyber punk gameplay says 1440p instead of 1080p 👀 8:11
Hi, can you test emulators with this 3050 low profile? Thanks in advance.
Don't trust ngreedia bs marketing
You'll only need this card IF:
You specifically need it to draw power solely from pcie slot (only good use of this card)
You need an SFF build with very low power consumption and heat dissipation but can't step up to the low profile 4060
Mostly agreed. The 3050 6GB's case use is different compared to the 4060 LP that draws 115W compared to 70, and requires an 8-pin power connector unavailable in all SFF office PCs.
How about emulation performance for rpcs3 and Xenia???
which program is showing the stats inside game?
I would love to try this but the HP Z2 mini G9 requires a proprietary bracket! Could someone help me 3D print a bracket?
so i got an offer from ebay and i go the zotac low profile 3050 6gb for 127 dollar after tax. Was this worth it for the cost for my budget pc for my nuc 9 extreme?
Is it on the Lenovo m92q?
How well does it encode for obs
Had an rx 6400 that sadly burned two Motherboards 😢. I like these more than stuff that sucks a 1000 Watt and costs an arm and leg with added noise.
Can this gtx3050 low profile work in my lenovo thinkcentre m720s?
Strange to release a card with last gen architecture. Ada Lovelace would fit so much better with lower power.
It's all about money.
Last gen + a cut down version of the regular 3050, less cores and ram
I stand by my feeling that 4060 was supposed to be the 4050 and the 4060ti was supposed to be the 4060 with the 4070 being lower in price. The die sizes make sense in this way too.
I just shout at my pc with (DO AS I COMMAND) in a megatron voice and then I hear a robotic sound and I get 30% performance boost and total obedience from the machine
I wish amd makes a rx 6600 or 7600 low profile
Dlss for $189 sounds enticing.
Love my RTX A2000
