Yeah the CGI wasn’t very good, but that was a result of WB and Whedon changing his design so close to the movie’s release and them cutting more scenes. Originally he was going to try to betray Darkseid by releasing his mother Hegra essence which was trapped inside the boxes and they would work together to overthrow Darkseid.
Ge got kicked put of apokolips by darkseid and is trying to get back home. So he has to prove his worth. So he is gonna defeat every hero on earth and give the planet(earth) to darkseid.
Steppenwolf is not a weird choice for a villain it's a perfect choice. He's the general for darkseid's army and leads an invasion, like he does in the comics. It also serves as an introduction to the new gods.

The reason Steppenwolf lost against Superman easily in Snyder Cut was because of Superman's speed. Steppenwolf can hurt Superman with his strength and skill. The movie had an amazing representation of Steppenwolf, He was tough against the Old Gods and the Green Lanterns and the Amazons and Aquaman's people. He looks imitating to look at with Ciana Hinds voice it gives you chills down your spine.
Considering that D.C. is trying to ride Marvel's coattails and try to build their own Cinematic Universe as Marvel has, it's definitely possible they are going to build up to Darkseid in the same way Marvel is building up to Thanos. If that's the case, then Steppenwolf actually makes a ton of sense as a villain. Movie will come, Steppenwolf gets offed, Darkseid gets teased, and then we get more D.C. Cinematic Universe.

Why steppenwolf? So at the end(close to end?) of Justice League pt. 1 his failure to conquer Earth will piss off Darkseid and he'll be vaporized for it, basically he's a powerful thow-away character just like Doomsday.
Honestly I'd love a new 52 based Steppenwolf, with the power gaps similar to Superman and Darkseid in the animated Justice League finale. Didn't knew he was obscured as shit cause when I was listening to Benny's narration of Earth 2 Storyline it seemed he's a been tough yet underused character. Although he's more on Vegeta's level compared to Darkseid's Frieza, although counting power levels he's still OP.
I think Steppenwolf is a stepping stone to the introduction of Darkseid against the Justice League in Justice League 2 depending on how well Justice League 1 does. Of course you know Superman will definitely have to be there for that movie.
I reckon they made the right choice for main villain for justice league, as he is a character the writers can somewhat get away with being heavy handed with creative license, and depending on how closely they stick to the source material, have a way to link the film to any sequels involving Darksyde

Hey Rob, if Steppenwolf is truly the nobody you suggest in this video, then maybe they're focus on Steppenwolf as the villain is justified. If he's the general of the armies of Apokolips, then him waging war on Earth on behalf of Darkseid would be the logical first step in introducing Darkseid.
Well its kind of a good thing because there isn't a whole lot of story behind him, the movie producers can play with the character with out upsetting the fan base. I would have to say good call.
I honestly love this idea since he is an evil that the Justice League obviously needs to defeat in their debut movie. It would be a disservice for Darkseid to be treated like a throw-away villain, so instead we got Steppenwolf, a moderately cool looking guy who will pose a threat yet will be defeated anyway. I'm happy that they decided to save Darkseid for future stories.

It's a great idea for them to use Steppenwolf as a villain. I was disappointed with the doomsday in BvS. Not because it was a terrible screen adaption (it kinda was though) but because this allows them to feel out a zesty way of introducing these villains and these plots. It's Superwoman in Justice League. Like I could swear that's what I saw in the trailer, and that would make sense also as why not? It would be a smart play, also allowing them to draw out the return of supes.

If that's the case, then Steppenwolf actually makes a ton of sense as a villain. Movie will come, Steppenwolf gets offed, Darkseid gets teased, and then we get more D.C. Cinematic Universe.

Why steppenwolf? So at the end(close to end?) of Justice League pt. 1 his failure to conquer Earth will piss off Darkseid and he'll be vaporized for it, basically he's a powerful thow-away character just like Doomsday.
Do they have any dope ghost rider arcs? I wanna see you cover more darker characters like the punisher, blade, ghost rider, etc...
To put it simply, he's Darkseid's uncle who also happens to be a high ranking general in that bastard's Apokoliptian army
Honestly I'd love a new 52 based Steppenwolf, with the power gaps similar to Superman and Darkseid in the animated Justice League finale. Didn't knew he was obscured as shit cause when I was listening to Benny's narration of Earth 2 Storyline it seemed he's a been tough yet underused character. Although he's more on Vegeta's level compared to Darkseid's Frieza, although counting power levels he's still OP.
I think Steppenwolf is a stepping stone to the introduction of Darkseid against the Justice League in Justice League 2 depending on how well Justice League 1 does. Of course you know Superman will definitely have to be there for that movie.
Steppenwolf is the buffer before they bring in Darkseid. This is how DC is potentially going to catch up with The Avengers.

I reckon they made the right choice for main villain for justice league, as he is a character the writers can somewhat get away with being heavy handed with creative license, and depending on how closely they stick to the source material, have a way to link the film to any sequels involving Darksyde

Hey Rob, if Steppenwolf is truly the nobody you suggest in this video, then maybe they're focus on Steppenwolf as the villain is justified. If he's the general of the armies of Apokolips, then him waging war on Earth on behalf of Darkseid would be the logical first step in introducing Darkseid.

Well its kind of a good thing because there isn't a whole lot of story behind him, the movie producers can play with the character with out upsetting the fan base. I would have to say good call.
The he being done, at least now, he kind of reminds me of Terrax, one of Galactus' old heralds.
I honestly love this idea since he is an evil that the Justice League obviously needs to defeat in their debut movie. It would be a disservice for Darkseid to be treated like a throw-away villain, so instead we got Steppenwolf, a moderately cool looking guy who will pose a threat yet will be defeated anyway. I'm happy that they decided to save Darkseid for future stories.

At least 2017 Stephenwolf was Treated as more of a Threat( Killed 100 millions of Worlds) Amped by a Fused Motherbox to the Point it took a Earth and Space Alliance to push him back.I would Say FlashBack Stephenwolf> Present StephenWolf Because The Present one never Had them Fully Sychronized and Back into One Motherbox which would have gave him a Massive Amp.

Great video Rob. I would not have used Darkseid personally, to powerful and huge of a villain to just drop in the first movie in my opinion. Granted i do believe the list of villains that could be used are more obscure that say your typical Marvel villains. Im actually excited to see Steppenwolf:

I agree. Initially I thought Steppenwolf was a very odd choice because his character isn't very well know by non-comic book readers. I thought Brainiac or Darksied would have made more sense....but lets hope they finally know what they're doing

It's a great idea for them to use Steppenwolf as a villain. I was disappointed with the doomsday in BvS. Not because it was a terrible screen adaption (it kinda was though) but because this allows them to feel out a zesty way of introducing these villains and these plots. It's Superwoman in Justice League. Like I could swear that's what I saw in the trailer, and that would make sense also as why not? It would be a smart play, also allowing them to draw out the return of supes.

Earth 2 is a fucking awesome series. Steppenwolf is a strange villian to open with, unless Darkseid does show up.
