One of the absolute best episodes. So cool to hear the background to videos that were meaningful and discover pieces that I had missed. Can’t wait to see what Colin comes out with next.
Holy shit, this episode was amazing! So sick to hear Colin talk about the artistry behind his videos. No surprise someone with that attention to detail has created so many iconic moments in skating. More filmers and editors PLEASE!!!
There’s something seriously wrong with the skate industry if Colin is short of work. The big shoes brands should be giving this guy blank cheques to create more magic
You know how it is man. Big skate companies are being absorbed by bigger businesses and then less and less so being ran by skateboarders and artists that actually understand it. I agree that’s a huge problem. You don’t want something to lose it’s soul as it goes more mainstream.
I'd agree that lack of good music is the main reason skate videos don't stick anymore. Every generation still listens to their favorite music over and over, regardless of content overload.
Nah it’s definitely because of the overload, we never have to wait for the big es video or the next zero full length. All just short clips out on the feed and gone from our memory in an instant
It's a factor, but oversaturation of content is for sure the main reason - too many clips, too many parts, too much to keep track off and not enough capacity for the very best of the cream to rise to the top.
Awesome episode. This show got me back into skating, digging up the old tapes of the homies. Realizing now, some 20+ years later, those dudes were doing sick stuff. Keep the dream alive folks.
Woww that was so good!! So are all of his films! I paused and watched them all during this. I was into film and lived near 411 office in the 90s makes me envy his career! Can't wait for Part 2! What a talented and humble dude who truly gave and gives back to skateboarding through his love for it!
This was an awesome episode. Could you imagine if Mike Mo had 3-5 more video parts? He was already such a game changer in the short career he had. His effect on skating can't be understated.
Loving this the way he looks at skating and picks up on the pushing and setting up before tricks is an art it's self makes the tricks so much better! 👌👌👌
agree, I feel skate videos were great until like 1997, I loved being able to hear licensed good music and skate videos used to be something id sit with my friends and eat popcorn to. Nowadays the internet and social media kinda killed the skate video
This is so rad! I have always thought that Skate More was a super-underrated video so it's awesome to see it get some shine. Colin is a rad guest too. Great episode, thanks y'all. 🔥
Another great episode...a lot of times I find that the non pro skaters (filmers, designers, agents, etc.etc.) are more interesting and better storytellers. This is a prime example.
This show always does it. Like church. If you spent time in skateboarding you can always relate to somethin in this show. For some reason the whole last month I feel. Its been that 2001 to 2006 era. Which is when I was in my teens. That time is always going to be special but also getting older you start to look back on what started that. With that coming from progressing on a skate board you start to see holy shit I was hyped on that trick in 2006 when it had been done in 2000. You start to appreciate it more. With that said it also depends what the trick is bein done on but thats part of progression. I just think the overload of footage is bad in general. For the progression for contests for the money in companys. Like how do you even put a video or a part out now. That was the change. After its been done. The video hypes us. Thats how we learn. Eventually 1 to 3 people would be on the next level and then they got hooked up. Everyone is jist mad good. Save your footage. I miss shop and like crew videos. Or a filmer video. Transworld all that. Wtf happened
Be super cool to have Ross Capicchioni on the Nine Club. This is another great episode. I love when filmeer come on the show. The story behind the shots and more mean a lot to hear about.
Is he the one who got shot and left for dead in Detroit ? If he is, it's a great short doc. The way he tells his story is captivating. Big ups to him for fighting and surviving 🙏💪
not a lot of people really point out that fact; its so hard to look at the next generation without judgment for some reason, but we all look back on the older generations with high regard, super weird, of course we all appreciate peoples skill but funny how we hold our main influences to such high regard. thats what makes skate careers last tho, make an impact and they'll support you for life.
As an amateur ceramicist, I feel I'm finally getting the content I'm paying for. And I really have to send the guys the courthouse stage diorama I made at some point.
Man these videographers episodes are by far the most interesting
And photographers-I would LOVE to see Atiba on here. My favorite episode has been Blabac
Really a great Episode, love all the skateboard history this show is documenting. Thanks for all the hard work the whole team puts into each episode.
Dude for real people that shit on the 9 club can suck it they give us skaters or people who use to skate insights to stuff we would never really know
One of the absolute best episodes. So cool to hear the background to videos that were meaningful and discover pieces that I had missed. Can’t wait to see what Colin comes out with next.
Colin: "Dude, how do you guys let me talk so much?!"
Me: "CARRY ON, MAN!"
Fantastic episode. Thanks, guys!

Please, no yelling at clouds. Back when we were all caveman, music and society were way better... lol
Shrimp blunt

Yes and lack of originality. Everyone just copys Logan Lara and Strobeck’s formula/ too much shitty garage hardcore and too much corny B-roll
Awesome episode. This show got me back into skating, digging up the old tapes of the homies. Realizing now, some 20+ years later, those dudes were doing sick stuff. Keep the dream alive folks.
This was bloody rad as ,love the 3 hourlys ones .He needs a 411 special show'....
This! haha 411 episode!
I love the filmer/photographer episodes.
Woww that was so good!! So are all of his films! I paused and watched them all during this. I was into film and lived near 411 office in the 90s makes me envy his career! Can't wait for Part 2! What a talented and humble dude who truly gave and gives back to skateboarding through his love for it!
Thanks

Excellent episode! That Miles video is one of the coolest things ever. Stoked the 1st was on a board the whole time! Amazing!

411 ep 28 is my absolute fav. A-team tour.
I miss the old videos from the 80's and early 90's. The music was great and we always looked forward to the next video. Times were great.
agree, I feel skate videos were great until like 1997, I loved being able to hear licensed good music and skate videos used to be something id sit with my friends and eat popcorn to. Nowadays the internet and social media kinda killed the skate video

My first ever pro deck was a Colin Kennedy Blueprint setup. So good to see him on the podcast.
Wrong colin kennedy mate :)
@@Mathertron hahaha, I just started watching and I was like “that’s not him!”

P.Smolik interview , long over due....
KELLY KNOWS 411!! 🐐
Thank you bruthas
Chris Roberts has a small head.
Colin Kennedy has a large head.
2:05:17 Sorry Kelly, but 30-50 clips (count of the obvious cuts) is not 'only a couple of shots'.
Off topic.. Carl Shipman, Mike Daher or Ryan Fabry. Would dig seeing those dudes interviewed. Keep up the great work!
*_"The best street grab."_* -Kelly Hart

As an amateur ceramicist, I feel I'm finally getting the content I'm paying for.
And I really have to send the guys the courthouse stage diorama I made at some point.
The Filmers/Photogs are the best episodes…
