@@amak1131 Artillery isn't that easy to aim, especially WWII Artillery batteries. Today you have modern GPS that can aim the battery for you, but with that you have to do it manually. Even for properly traind crews it still wasn't easy and you more then likely were going to miss the first 3-4 shots

This is quite the job and could be dangerous if they didn't know what they were doing and even sometimes the best experienced may have to run. I remember when I was living in British Columbia up in Revelstoke it seemed like between Revelstoke and the next town Sicamous they had to do this periodically because it was a bad area for avalanches and it would hold up the traffic for maybe half an hour to an hour it all depended on the situation sometimes even 3 hours
