I think one of my favorite tiny detail things in this game was how the gave Lex that metal elbow since he was doing that as one of his finishers around that time. Playing up the whole metal plate in his arm from the motorcycle accident.

I loved this game because finally learning how to chain combos together was such a satisfying feeling. It felt like when you figured out how to do a Brutality or an Ultra combo in Killer Instinct.
Also, for the life of me,I cannot understand why they wouldn’t release an updated version of this game/In Your House today. The characters in WWE now are PERFECT for a game like this.
Just imagine them borrowing from ‘In Your House’ and each wrestler having their own themed arena.
They could borrow Mortal Kombat’s Tower mode and have you face Roman at the very end and his theme would literally be the Island of Relevancy.

Happened to go to Galloping Ghost in Chicago back in March when Scott Hall passed. WrestleMania was there and every single person, myself included, was playing as Razor. Fell in love with this game that day and while I'm still not very good with it, I adore this game and would've loved a proper follow-up!

Aaahh, yes, my lil bro & I were some of the ones who owned the SNES version, back in the mid '90s, & we loved it, but it sucks to know that there were much better versions available, out there, at the time. Only thing we hated, back then, was that Yokozuna & Bam Bam weren't on our version. We played WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, all the way until WCW vs NWO World Tour came out, & we quickly picked up that one!

ALWAYS appreciate a good play guide like you did here for an Arcade Game, WB. Emulation makes them all so easily playable nowadays, but its not like they have tutorial modes or anything after all. Having to bring up an FAQ on your computer or phone or whatever isn't exactly ideal either. Thanks for going above and beyond here!

    • @arpegio88

I always wondered exactly why Diesel wasn't in this particular game also but it's important to remember that this game started production around mid-late 1993 at which point Diesel was still Shawn's bodyguard and had not yet had a proper one-on-one bell to bell match in the Federation. The game only featured top stars of that era at the time; Diesel was still on the come up.

I had read a strategy guide for what I think was the arcade game. It had pictures and the inputs needed for every character's fatality. I'm guessing the guide was in Electronic Gaming Monthly, but I could be wrong. I had tried these inputs multiple times trying to get a fatality on either the Genesis or 32x version. But none worked. Got so fed up that I called the Acclaim Gamer Tips Hotline about this issue. The girl on the phone, after leaving me on hold for awhile, came back and told me that the home version does not contain any fatalities, only the arcade version did.

I’ve only briefly played this one, on the Mega Drive, back in the day. What I remember about the game, more than playing it though. Was the short video I had back in the day, at the end of my In Your House 4 VHS. Where Bret Hart speaks about how he helped make the game and the wrestlers, such as The Undertaker talking about hints and tips for the game, while they were in full character.

Back in the day, I was 7 years old and I loved wrestling. I have a soft spot for the Snes version despite the fact that it isnt very good. I do remember being disappointed that Yokozuna and Bam-Bam weren't in the game. My guys I would rotate between were Bret Hart (who I would consider my main), Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker with Razor as an honorable mention. For awhile, I did own a Sega Saturn a friend of mine either gave to me or sold it really cheap to me (like $20 or something like that). And of the nine games WrestleMania the arcade game was one of them and I did enjoy the Saturn version when I would bust it out. Recently I ended up selling my Saturn with the games, but I had one of the best versions and the worst lol

The arcade version was definitely the best! I played it recently on a MAME emulator on my 65” TV it looked amazing! One game I do remember fondly along side this one was WWF In Your House on ps1. I always believed if that game would’ve been released on the arcade cabinet like WWF Wrestlemania it would’ve been amazing aswell. I remember all the “rumors” that went around about this game, Adam Bomb secret character, blood code ect…One being 100% true was that the undertaker was the only one that had a “fatality” which is only able to be done on the arcade version of the game. WWF In Your House also copied that with “super pins” and all the wrestlers had their own unique “super pin” but the game itself falls miles short compared to Wrestlemania. It would’ve been great to see Vader,Warrior, Owen, Bulldog, Ahmed,Goldust and Triple H on WRESTLEMANIA along with its original roster of WWF superstars

Played a ton of this game on PS1. It's a simplified fighting game more than a wrestling game. The combos and fast paced action is a ton of fun.

I was blown away by how little effort was put in to In Your House. I had only played Wrestlemania (both in arcade and on PS1) and I never knew of IYH until I started collecting PS1 games again around 2010. I was really pumped for it. But I was surprised by the just dingy look of the graphics, although I did love the stages, and "Tri" was a selectable character and it also featured plenty of Destrucity, so theres that.

Mortal Kombat wrestling was pretty fun, I remember killing many hours playing it but that thumbnail of Bret trying to Russian leg sweep an arcade machine is hilarious.

I'm familiar with the Megadrive/Genesis version but having literally just downloaded the Arcade original while watching this , wow , it's so much better.
Does anybody remember Bret playing this game with Blade in Wrestling with Shadows on the PS1 & amusingly getting his ass kicked.

Yes. Bret had a pretty big TV in his house in a time when a 32 inch TV was considered large.

Arcade 1up NEEDS an old school WWF (now WWE) cabinet with the old arcade games AND original characters. Wrestlefest Saturday Night's Main Event & Wrestlemania. Take my money.

It is Indeed the toughest WWF Game ever released, coz I still remember to this day on my genesis, back in 1996. I spent a whole month just to master Taker, Bam Bam & Razor.
To this day, I still own the orignal of Sega Version & Genesis too.
