like ur review jakko especially wen u said it doesnt help u boat more fish but it can show how the fish r reacting to the lure so a change up can be done until u c the fish react differently, that was the biggie for me jakko. i run 2 helix 10 megas with 360 linked and for its the shit, after watching this i am thinking the 360 combined with the livescope to show the reactions to the lures for those change ups. cheers.
Another quick question about your setup Jakko. Do you recommend setting the Rob Payne Livescope pole up with the handle/pointer facing away from the boat onto the water towards the target fish? I notice that some boats have the handle pointed back towards the casting deck, interested to know what your preference and thoughts are. I am thinking if the pole handle points towards the target fish like your setup it would possibly help with confidence in more accurate lure casting. Hope this makes sense mate. Cheers Dave
Nice one mate. How do you think it would go on the smaller fish like bass or bream? Can you see smaller lures like grubs or small vibes on the live scope?
yea it picks up small lures really well mate. It's perfect for grubbing trees for yellas as an example. The bass show up great as well, so I'd assume the bream would too (haven't had it in the salt yet)
cheers mate, I've currently just got the electric and front sounder/livescope system running of a standard deep cycle battery. The livescope does chew the charge so I'll be looking at going to lithium down the track
Hey Jakko, thanks for all the information about your setup. I am currently about to install a Garmin Echomap Ultra 125SV and Rob Payne Pole similar to your awesome setup. Do you know if it is possible to install the Livescope pole with cable/wiring setup to allow for complete pole/transducer removal for travel at the end of a fishing session (cable extension for disconnection e.t.c)? Additionally, I already have a relatively new Humminbird Helix 9 GN3 sounder head unit installed at the back on side console of my Hornet for side/down imaging use, do you think it is worth installing the Garmin transducer that comes in box (GT56UHD-TM Transducer) as an additional transducer (x2) to my existing Humminbird transducer. I plan on only using the Livescope transducer on the pole when using the new Garmin Unit and use the Humminbird side/down imaging transducer when searching quickly with outboard motor.
Hey mate, there would be a way to have complete removal for sure but I'm not the right person to ask on that sorry. Im pretty hopeless with the technical stuff... but i reckon something like an anderson plug set up would work fine. in regards to the back sounder i wouldnt worry about getting another transducer unless you wanted side/down etc on the front garmin. But you'll only really ever use the livescope transducer so no need. Just keep the humminbird for the other stuff
Gps maps series is inbetween the 8412 and echo maps. And also only the same series talk to each other. Youd would 2 x 8412 in order for it to work . Only 2 of the same series talk to each other. U cant cross different series
Hi Jakko, very helpful video! I'm from Parkes and I've only just recently taken interest into dam fishing. I have never used a fish finder I've always been blind casting rivers by walking the banks ect.. I would love to one day upgrade my tinny to a bigger boat so I can hit the dams and start fishing for big cod. what sort of boat would you recommend starting off in the dams with? (I just sent you a friend request on Facebook) Thanks Blake.
BRILLIANT VIDEO JACKO. you answered every single question i had in regards to it
Cheers mate, glad she helped
Your time on the water with this technology has given you a good perspective on it mate.
It's definitely an interesting time we are fishing in....:)
Awesome Mate, can’t wait for future videos with you using this technology!!!

Cheers Stephen. That would be the ultimate setup!
Hi Jacko.
Thanks for the info. How would it go in dirty water. Zero visibility would this have any affect.

Awesome video mate, what does your battery setup consist of for all the electronics and your minnkota??

Hey mate, are you using the standard livescope pole mount that comes in the box or one of the 0 degree offset mounts?
hey mate, just the standard livescope pole mount for me
Does the electric motor effect the live scope
Nah it doesn't mate.
hopefully they will ban it like in many of the US states
