[Superzoom] Guess the aircraft type by looking at the landing gear - at Incheon Airport

Because of the shock during landing, it has to be constructed very sturdy, and because of that, it is surprisingly heavy, accounting for 4 to 5% of the weight of the airplane.
Unlike cars, power is not transmitted directly to the wheels of aircraft landing gear.
In other words, the wheel just rolls.
However, when an aircraft brakes, it cannot be stopped quickly with speed brakes or engine reverse propulsion alone, so physical brakes are attached to the wheels of the landing gear for braking purposes.
While small aircraft have a 1:1:1 ratio between the nose gear and the main gear, the Jumboing 747 has 4 wheels in the center of the fuselage, 2 each on the wings, and 16 wheels in a 4*4 arrangement, and the A380 has 16 wheels under each wing. There are 4 wheels and two 6 wheels under the fuselage, so there are 20 wheels in the 8+12 main gear.
