I love that Lamy made this pen! I owned and used a Livescribe pen (it’s similar to this Lamy) while I was in nursing school and adored it. Having a pen like this can make such a difference in a students' learning. Study’s being done have proven that physical note taking (pen to paper) during lectures and in class can help students retain the material being taught. Having a way to digitize your lecture notes for future reference & study sessions makes this pen a wonderful gift for a student. This pen speaks to my nurse teacher ❤️ I think this Lamy X Neolab Ncode can make a difference to the newest generation of learners that use active learning as a major learning tool... Oh and no Si-Fi movie beats seeing Star Wars (A New Hope) in the theater when you were 8 years old :) Good luck to the winner of this Lamy pen! Love the Goldspot website & UA-cam channel & thanks for all your videos

I like the idea behind these digital pens with the physical writing side to them. I have done lots of digital art with my surface pro, and used it as a note taking device, but having physical paper is a different experience that I yearn for like with fountain pens. This is a great invention!
I don't get into scifi very often, but my personal favorite at least tangentially in a scifi fantasy sense is (Laputa) Castle in the Sky by Studio Ghibli. The storytelling, the castle that is far too advanced for human civilization to properly use, the juxtaposition between what really is good and evil.

Such a cool concept! Although my first love always will be fountain pens, I can't wait to see how this pen develops and evolves. Thank you for doing this video. My favorite scifi movie is 1951's The Day the Earth Stood Still, both for its message and its stylized look. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Great way to share notes within a study group or project team members! The transcribe feature would come in handy for me and my handwriting.
Favorite Si-Fi movie, The Empire Strikes Back.
I always wondered about the imperial officers pens. If in fact those were pens in their uniform coat pockets. Snap! Can you imagine how well informed the Sith Lord would be if these Lamy pens were around?! The entire imperial fleet could be able to share their notes with him regarding the rebellion's whereabouts, and maybe a few complaints about Darth's people skills too. MIND BLOWN, YES?!

This is really interesting. I like the concept of bridging the analog and the digital with the balance toward the analog. There are a lot of options that are much more heavily digital with no hard copy and that has always turned me off. This is much closer to what I'd like to see. I hope this is a big success for them. If it goes really well maybe we'll see a digital version of the Lamy 2000 where they build all the pressure sensors and cameras and memory into the back of the Lamy 2000 form factor and it lets us use fountan pen ink too. As for favorite sci-fi movie I'd have to go with the original Blade Runner (1982). A bit dark, but so good.

My favourite sci-fi movie would be Back To The Future. The DeLorean is such a cool car, and time travel always makes for weird and interesting stories! And it's always fun to see what people's vision for the future was back then, and sometimes being able to compare it to how things really turned out in 2015's case.

That's definitely nice that the electronic transferable notebooks are the same price as the bullet Journaling books we have these days. However, I'm not quite sure if I'd use the pen much with digitizing my Journaling, but this would be very cool for students and grad students! Some day when I go back this would be a great Stationary tool for school lol. As for scifi...I'll go with Doctor Strange!

Thank you for this opportunity to live in both the analogue world and in the digital one at the same time, which is the way of the future! My favorite sci fi movie is Pacific Rim. The one thing I didn't expect is that it's a ballpoint pen. It would have been much more interesting to have it as a fountain pen but this kind of tech looks pretty interesting. I might consider getting one should I have more potential usage in the future but it is a niche product at the moment for me. I wonder if you can use this with different types of paper or you can use this on a form. Like when you have paperwork to fill out and you use this pen to capture what you've written down to have a digital copy as well.

Oftentimes, writing ideas works best for me when writing on paper, but then I am faced with having to transcribe everything to get it on the computer. While the idea behind the pen intriges me highly, I also wonder wether this idea is not in battle with what (fountain) pen lovers like, the feeling and experience of the nib touching/gliding over the paper, changing nib sizes, inks, changing fountain pens, papers, etc. It surely has it benefits and specific use, but I don’t know if it will be able to convince me to decrease the time I write with my fountain pens (notes, meetings, etc.) in benefit of the use of the digital pen. It would certainly decrease cleaning time 😜. So I really need try to be able to provide with more insights 😀. I like alll Sci-iFi movies but the Star Wars movies have or bring something extra for me.

I really enjoy watching the movie "Ready Player One". It's a great movie for video game lovers because of how they combine retro and nostalgic games with modern technology (Virtual Reality). Kind of like how we fountain pen lovers love writing but sometimes wish we had the benefit to digitize our notes like this pen!
Great review! Really considering buying this pen now 😅

Sheesh, just one? It’s between Blade Runner, Contact and the Martian. All three are cerebral, with great design and stories that stay with you long after the runtime.

Favourite sci-fi would be The Martian (although, hard to beat the book version)
