Florence uses a lot of religious metaphors in her music. "Bedroom Hymns" is especially eyebrow raising 😅 I think the best description I've seen of her genre was "baroque pop".
All of us, no matter what we appear to be on the outside, are human and we’re all susceptible to the powers of the heart, it’s true. Maybe the part about going to church is because the feelings she is having make her feel like she needs to go to confession? The live version just took it to another level. I loved the long pause before she started singing, it was really effective in building the expectation.
Yes!!! More Florence! So many good songs! She also did a good sort of bare-bones cover of Hospital Beds too:) I’d recommend Strangeness and Charm, Breath of Life, and Bedroom Hymns.
I always equate the 'drumming noise' as the pulse racing, haha. She uses a lot of like church themes but not in exactly religious contexts - Bedroom Hymns is a great example of just turning religious references into euphemisms lol. I've heard this genre referred to as Baroque Pop, Chamber Pop, Indie Rock, etc. It's kind of an amalgamation really
Maybe it's because of the fact that she is usually the one that invokes those feelings in others that now, that she has met someone who finally for once does it to her that she doesn't know how to handle it. So, she is overwhelmed and panicks and she runs to where she thinks it may help her handle it better but only finds that it overwhelms her further. That's kind of how I always took it. I would love seeing you react to no light, no light or cosmic love ny her. They're both phenomenal songs.
I know 7:07 who cares? My father was a drummer. Not a one handed bandit from Def Leppard, but a competent guy, and he always told me, all music is the same to a drummer, he meant rock, jazz, scat, big band, he didn't know rap. In the end he told me, the drums are to accent the other instruments, and that's how he played. Drums weren't overpowering in this song, but they were definitely present. I think they did good, cause before it started, you said, "Is it about drumming?" Kinda the drums were there the whole time carrying us.
This one of a (pretty big) group of her songs I like very much :). About general style of her songs (what I think about them): she has always very strong and great voice, but end parts of some songs can be overwhelming sometimes (not this one only in general) :). For sure one of artists I like :). I currently have also on my mind Big God and What a water gave me which I love but of course there are more :). For sure she is great live too. Ps. I would never call Florence voice as fragile :) Ps2.Funny thing is that I listened a lot to her songs just before Ifavorite
No it's not about infatuation, this gal, she took the shot, and she's got all these blood clots in her and now her head is pounding an almighty sound. Nothing to do with love, it's bad docs.
F+TM have made some wonderful songs. Queen of peace is on another level, and I still get goosebumps when listening to it. Thank you for this. My small request: Either Halo Suite, Blade Runner Suite, or Soothsayer ua-cam.com/video/hMd5_DcLNdE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/vJUmx_bSolI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/a1VGJHDNog4/v-deo.html 😊
I'm Gen X, only saying that because someone told me she was Trans, and I said, SO? What's your point. This song made a good compilation video of Camina Drummer's growth in the series "The Expanse" it builds to a crescendo, like Drummer's arc. And apparently since no Camina here, it surpassed that to the point I'm interested in Florence and the MACHINE.
I don't know what you're saying "jamming like it was a rock song" I don't understand. YOu were jamming to a song, does it have to be catagorized for your Millenial brain, I have no idea if it's pop or rock or a mossy tree. I like the music, I don't need to catagorize it, why? I'm not a music teacher dopn't know my ass from a hole in the, there's a drumming sound inside my head.

My favorite live performance of hers!! It sounds like it belongs in the final scene of an epic movie!
More Florence and the machine man.. Specially live performances 🤘🤘🔥🔥

she has a hell of voice and very catchy drum filled songs...No Light No Light is a great example
Great choice!!! She’s exceptional!!!

Love this band!!!! She is such a phenomenal singer! Her vocal range is I think, 4 octaves or 5. I love her so much!!
The live version was so powerful!
@@deliathorja442 She’s incredible and she never gets enough credit! I know their whole catalog by heart. I’m not just a metal girl 😘🤟

3:27 it's got 'energy'.

Listen to “Shake It Out”. It shows her vocal range.
They did a Camina Drummer version of this, how I got into florence.

She got Amy Lee/RIP Delores O'Reardon voice
There's no Bear McCreary drums, but it's pretty decent drumming. I mean how could you not?
Probably Opera, it's Prince Albert Hall.
Almost Amy Lee type vocals.

Best drums are simple. I won't say the same about religions.
