Why Can't I Leave Family Sharing?

If you have screen time turned on you can not leave but your organizer or guardian can remove you from it

I hate when my mom gets me an iPhone for like Christmas and she adds me to a family and she blocks everything and I have to ask permission to download free games I hate that so much and I wish parents would be less controlling especially towards teenagers😡😡😡

I’m 55 years old and I saw that my iPhone 14 says, “Sharing…” After my name this is what appears (Me). The same thing appears in locations in my iPhone also.

Bro I can download apps with out permission but I’m in family sharing and I don’t want my mom to know I downloaded it 😢

If you’re trying to leave Family Sharing but can’t, you’ll need to follow the proper steps to remove yourself from the family group. If you download apps while in Family Sharing, it’s visible to the family organizer. For privacy, you might want to discuss your concerns with the family organizer or manage your app downloads more discreetly.

I am the original organizer of the family for Apple. I had to delete a duplicate Apple ID account o made by mistake for my daughter. I was able to delete that account and now I’m alone on my family account as the organizer. My husband created a new one and I’m trying to join his however… it will not let me. It’s not grayed out for the stop family sharing it says I can’t join because there are members in my family.. even though it’s just me.

I left the family share, but for some reason it still tells me that I am and need to ask permission when I need to download or update apps. I was told that I need a payment when I searched for help, method but I already have two linked to my account so I don't know what to do.

I got removed which took all my restrictons away and turned off screen time. But I can"t download any apps without asking permission. But the thing is, I'm over 13 and don't have screen time on and aren't hooked up to a family or any family members phone. I don't know what to do.

At 15, you should be able to leave Family Sharing, but sometimes restrictions set by the family organizer or other settings can cause issues. Have you tried checking the Family Sharing settings?

Scary! And I see no one has answered you.. eek! I have asked a question on another video of his and I’m curious about something with family sharing. Try going to your local Apple Store and see if they can help you or call Apple support
