Very clever & nicely done. I too am good at doing these re-pops & have done mostly Coca-Cola machines & coolers but have a few gas pumps that I started with gas pumps and built out as copies of mostly Texaco & Mobil. I became fascinated with these treasures in the 1980s. I met a guy about 35 years ago that was traveling the country buying old pumps and restoring them like new ones. He said it took about 5-6 pumps to get one good one to finish. He was an auto body guy so painting them was his specialty. I liked it so much that I paid him $1250.00 in 1992 for my first real pump done by him. I eventually sold it to a lady who paid me 2800. for that pump as a gift. Today I'm in my 70s and still buy Gas & oil collectibles as well as Coke collectibles restoring them and trading them as a hobby. My wife says our house looks like a museum between the Jukeboxes, slot machines, and gas & oil memorabilia. My grandkids will have a good time selling this stuff one day but who cares it was fun along the way!
Excellent. I remember when I lived in Arkansas, flying for the Air Force in the 70's, I used to see these pumps for sale at flea markets & farms. Never knew it was going to be a "Everybody wants retro." You gave me a good idea to build one myself. Awesome job!!
Thanks for comment. Talk about one man's junk is another man's treasure-was in Arizona late 70's- beverage distributor had 15 or 20 of the old nickel coke machines and was taking them to the dump, who knew???
Thanks would love to see your project when done-My build was relatively easy since I didn't have to worry about keeping it a working fridge. I think you could still light the signs in the door depending on how the fridge is constructed. Best of luck with your project.
Fabulous job. I'm just doing a bit of research before I start building one for myself and you have given me some great ideas, and some solutions to parts of the process I hadn't figured out just yet. I'm in the UK so probably wont find a refrigerator like you've used, but there'll be a suitable alternative I'm sure. Thanks for sharing your build! 👍
I am reminded of the old joke about the reason the British drink warm beer is because their refrigerators have lucas electrics. If you're old enough to remember MG's, Triumphs, and Spitfire sports cars you get it. In any case thanks for the comments, cheers and best of luck with your project.
Fantastic, i've been looking at doing something like this myself, thinking round some ideas where the fridge would still work, gotta have somewhere to keep the beer lol
Fantastic job! Your incredible. Can you tell me, if you know, how much difference in apperiance there was between the style of pumps in the 1950's. I know there were different brands of gas but I was wondering about the pumps. thanks

This is brilliant! I've been looking to build my own vintage gas pump and would never have thought to use an old fridge.

Great job. Thank you for the tips, this was easy, not perfect but that I think actually makes it more unique and mancave appropriate. Cheers!
Splendid, gonna copy your design with the idea to put a garden hose inside
Fantastic repurpose and clever use of different materials.
Well done! Great ideas.
Thanks-appreciated.

Came out great! Thanks for the video.
Proof positive that with some mechanical knowhow and a creative imagination almost anything is possible.
I hope the rec center where I work doesn't miss their old fridge!
Well done!! I have been doing the same thing with curio cabinets for my scale models.

Stop using the Lord's name in vane
What a joke and waste of valuable time. There are enough original vintage gas pumps around at very reasonable prices.
Awesome!!!!
