Something people don’t talk about for insurance is that the average claim has increased from around $4,000 to over $7,500 for just the vehicle repairs. Consumers have become extremely litigious, and any car accident can result in an attorney which means you’re looking at around a $10k pay out minimum just to avoid going to court. From my experience, it’s roughly 50/50 if there’s an attorney involved now. It’s especially bad in states like GA and FL where laws are heavily biased against insurers, resulting in heavy payouts which means your premiums go up equally massively. In GA you can get in a minor fender bender, go to a clinic that works with your attorney for 6 months, and come out with a medical bill that’s exactly what the other persons policy’s limits are. In GA, insurers are required by law to show the injured party’s attorney what their limits are. If you hop over to Alabama, this doesn’t happen and any demand from an attorney is essentially a guess which disincentivizes attorneys from racking up bogus medical bills for massive pay outs. There’s a reason State Farm is pulling out of states like Florida. I honestly expect after cali it’ll be GA.

Plus they have been making these vehicles nowadays with too much plastics; too much recalls
Also, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the cylinder deactivation of the naturally aspirated engines they are doing like on the ridge line and the new v8 f150s. Does this added bs and complexity to save emissions make it more worth it to go with a turbo.
This comment is coming from the grandson of a UAW union organizer. About five years ago a number came out that every Ford automobile had approximately $4500 packed into the price because of union benefits, number two, my grandfather always stressed to buy American and I never purchased anything but. I’m 55 years old and in the market for a new vehicle and will not be purchasing ANY American vehicle. Having said that, I do realize that Honda and Toyota are both having issues.
I rented a compact SUV in Las Vegas the other week. When I went to pick it up, they gave me a Grand Cherokee. In fact, that's all they had was Grand Cherokees. $237 for 8 days..pretty good deal. It was nice to drive too.
By overpricing the ICE vehicles they can both cover the costs for building EV’s, and make the EV prices look palatable in comparison. I believe that’s driving the high prices more than inflation. When the EV standards are removed soon, the dealers will have to clearance sale what’s on the lot, even if it’s a loss. Then the factories can crank up production of affordable ICE vehicles to put on the lots. They will need to have a Walmart state of mind for a while. And many companies quite regularly have unprofitable years, the upper management may not get their big raises for a couple of years.
It's helpful to remind us to hit like. I personally forget so I'm glad when you remind me and I always go back and do it. Trying to help a brother out because I appreciate the information and effort you put into your videos 😉
Here in Canada I read an article that stated the new 2025 jeep wranglers are coming with a 4500 discount. Problem is they are tremendously overpriced and a 4500 dollar discount is definitely not enough.
It isn't a small interest payment for the dealer. Some dealers will have over 10 Million in inventory, and a 0.5% payment on that per month would be somewhere around 50 grand. Per month just for having the inventory.
What if I want my vehicle built a certain way with the packages? How would I get all this money off when I’m myself building the vehicle the way I want and not just picking one sitting in a lot
Base model trucks should be $20-25k for mid size trucks. In 2019 that’s what a base model MSRP was for a Tacoma. I’ll keep my paid off 1999 Lexus and my 2019 Bolt and drive them until prices some down or until they both fall apart.
Never understood how many people can test drive them off the lot but the minute you sign and drive the value gets decimated. Huge liability. The price of the vehicle will come with crippling insurance rates and if you're financing you have to pay full coverage for the duration of the note. Insane and people out here are getting laid off, losing their jobs, defaulting on credit cards, defualting on mortgages at high rates. Marking down these vehicles is only skimming the froth off the coffee when the profit is already covertly pumped into the price tag.
Those MSRP prices have been inflated 10k-15k so $10,000 off with the depreciation of a year old vehicle is still not worth it,I would want 20k-25k off that sticker.
I came thiiiiiiiiis close to buying ram 3500 diesel. Stumbled upon videos of cummins failures. That and the price over 70k otd for tradesmen level rubber floor work truck was a no go for me.
Negotiations begin at the MSRP price, not at the addendum mark up price. You explain to the dealer salesperson that your beginning the Negotiations at the MSRP. ADDENDUM MARK UP are a dealer scam, in order to increase profits. Any addendum mark up are pure profit for the dealership in addition to the destination and documents fee.
I'm not saying to start the negotiation process at the exact dollar amount of MSRP, of course you would start by giving a lower price under MSRP. What I'm saying is that the novice car buyer would begin the negotiation process at the Mark up price above MSRP. You use the MSRP price as a point where to begin and low ball the price with dealership salespersons.
Consumers are slowly wising up, keep it up, show these fools who is the boss. Stealer ships have taken more than enough advantage of hard-working folks' money. It's time we take a stand, like Untamed said, walk out, and you have a good chance they will call you back.

Always cool to see first hand perspective on the ground especially from the dealership side of things. Thanks for sharing and I'd agree these companies will have to slash prices dramatically.
Never thought I would smile with hope about car dealer and negligent manufacturer going out of business.

I have a 2011 Jeep grand Cherokee with 156,000 miles. The only thing have changed were water pump, thermostat, spark plugs (only changed because I thought it was a good idea) and the original battery in 2023. Ppl r blown away that the battery lasted so long. Still running fine; I want a pickup truck but with these prices I'm keeping it until it dies. I know Jeep is not the most reliable but I'm still benefiting from this purchase. Probably can get another 50, 000 miles out of it.

They had a base Rubicon (unlimited 4 door) for $50,000 in late 2021 at my local dealer. Is that not the case anymore?
Never understood how many people can test drive them off the lot but the minute you sign and drive the value gets decimated. Huge liability. The price of the vehicle will come with crippling insurance rates and if you're financing you have to pay full coverage for the duration of the note. Insane and people out here are getting laid off, losing their jobs, defaulting on credit cards, defualting on mortgages at high rates. Marking down these vehicles is only skimming the froth off the coffee when the profit is already covertly pumped into the price tag.

Beginning negotiations at MSRP? You need to learn how to negotiate.
Beginning should start at $12,000 below MSRP.
