Favorite is A Princess Of Mars, Then Gods Of Mars and 3rd Warlords Of Mars. I think I view them as one complete story, as act 1, 2 and 3. I remember being so hyped to start Gods of Mars and was excited for John to return. The anticipation of a reunion with Dejah kept me reading each page without wanting to stop and for her to get trapped at the end the way she did. I’ll never forget that feeling. 😆
As a young teen, I read, not only all of the John Carter books, but all of the Burrough's TARZAN stories. He had a very special way of Writing that put you right smak into the middle of his stories.
Haven't read the books, but that's the point I've reached with the comics, him becoming Warlord of Mars & getting Dejah Thoris back, while his son bangs that other Red Martian lady that first wanted John Carter 😅👍🏻
I read and loved these books and others by ERB back in the 1970’s and have re-read them several times. In regard to the originally trilogy, from best-to-least I’d rank the Gods, Princess then Warlord. That said, his Mars series is remarkable in that ERB maintained a high level of quality and inventiveness throughout.

Thank you, Ron!
GOOD!
Awesome book, I always loved it.
Can you review the non cannon books?
I wasn’t aware of them! Who wrote them/ what are they called? That’s interesting.
