I remember doing a trip to Oakamoor on a LCGB Charter [started at Frodsham] Saturday March 10th 1984. We came down from Stoke through Endon by DMU. Great memories. I've still got the ticket!

I still hope the churnet valley railway has further potential in hopefully upgrading the stretch of track... from kingsley-&-froghall station all the way back to as far as the site of them sand sidings out there at (west) oakamoor out there, as a potential phase 1 in hopefully seeing the CVR reach not only oakamoor itself, but also onto as alton towers (and back).
Even if it still takes years, Surely the churnet valley railway shall once again be able to run south of kingsley-&-froghall station, further down the valley to that site of the sand sidings west of oakamoor.... perhaps one day, a potential 'oakamoor west' ? station, could be considered.

Complete with a rude exhaust system!

@@churnetvalley is the exhaust system ineffective? eg. Lack of silencers?

@@Housephonestimes4 Dunno. IIRC it was always that way during its time on the CVR. I travelled on it once, up the incline to Bradnop, and everything shook and rattled.

On one of the most scenic sections - track now lifted by the supposed preservation society . . . .
