People love high notes, people think that good singers have to sing high notes. She is a soprano, she easily hits high notes and she can easily sustain high notes. On the other hand, her low notes are mediocre. She is excellent when she sings high notes. She is awful when she sings low notes.
DuskSunDawn SoHyang's lows are actually pretty decent for a soprano with a high tesitura like hers. So calling her lows awful was uncalled for, especially since Sohyang doesn't lower her larynx to hug her lows like some of these other chicks
DuskSunDawn SoHyang doesn’t have horrible low notes. She has supported some F3/F#3s anD has more consistency on the G3, G#3 and A3 notes. Not amazing, but not “awful”.

@@Gisaround You don't need to be the best from that arbitrary time span to be the best. lol Ironically, however, Sohyang has been a hot mess throughout large swaths of that period, so thanks for the laugh. 윤복희 and 이선희 are both better in terms of coordination and efficiency--especially 윤복희. They generally sing with better depth, too. Even if you want to look at more modern singers, vocalists like 옥주현 have better chest development, coordination, and depth throughout the lower, mid, and large parts of the belting range. Not that they don't have their own issues, of course. But Sohyang can hardly phrase at the bottom of the fourth and sings with a constricted, (usually) overly bright and often nasal sound that doesn't have the true embodiment that better singers can manage.
Kim Sohyang and Park Ki Young have the most powerful and healthy voices when it hits high notes without straining too much....and also have good style and techniques even in the highest peak of their voice
