With the husbands working long hours, sometimes even in different prefectures, the wives are essentially single mothers. They're exhausted and so are their husbands. If working hours were cut back to no more than ten hours per day, couples would have more time for themselves; they would be able spend quality time with each other and their children. It's hard to be married to a stressed out zombie.
But seriously though, Japanese are ashamed to ask for or accept help like donations or tips. They would rather feel they are exchanging something of value or working for it.

It seems to me that sex less marriage has it roots from avoiding difficult conversation. They only want a tidy surface, while obscuring the spotted interior. The gentleman who was told by his wife of not being a good partner on bed is perfect example of this. Instead of confronting the issue of why he is not performing well on their marital bed, he sought validation in the arms of young women who are being remunerated for rendering services. Maybe his wife's repulsion is not towards him per se, but more of underlying issues such stress, hormonal imbalance or even anxiety. However, most of us don't have the capacity to tackle what is bothering inside us and the courage to make amends while acknowledging that we have limitations as human beings. We all want that connection, yet we don't want to suffer the consequences of it.
@@lcd1063 well put. Tatemae is taken really seriously, where hoone is seen as less important than anything else. Showing a nice face and pretending everything is fine is more important than assuming the human nature and seeking betterment of oneself through living the truth.
Japanese women marry just to marry, its a checklist for them. Every culture is different but that just how it is, the young love in youth in anime is lit escapism for men not joking (plz if your Asian too youll get it) but only the very attractive boys get to experience that form of dating, like less than 10% of my class had guys dating while most girls had crushes of idols (safe and soft masculinity). Women grow up and lit give money to for these women to sleep w their husbands while they get to enjoy their girls night out at bars amd host clubs. It's not that bizarre for American, poly/open and honestly the idea of marriage is definitely being questioned in the modern lenses
I think the culture of repressing ones self is what is hurting relationship in Japan and it is sad that some girls think brothel work is a way to make money right now in this economy. It is easiest but not best.
On a fundamental level, there is nothing wrong with providing sexual services for money. The problem really comes down to how badly these businesses operate.
@@InfernosReaperI'm saying this only by inference, rather than knowing the exact situation in Japan. But if there are so many young women willing to join the sex industry, the brothels most likely have a good enough management system that allows the women to feel relatively safe.
When expectations meet real life, you are bound to be disappointed. Instead of thinking, "I want this marriage to match up to my dreams and fairy tales" you should instead think, "I will accept this person, fault and all, and I will do what I can to make this relationship last".
Marriage success varies greatly from culture to culture. Compare that to India, where arranged marriages are still practiced, but it has a surprisingly high success rate. Cultural attitude towards marriage plays a HUGE part in whether or not a marriage is successful.
I think Ichika Takamoto at around 7:00 hit the nail on the head. Japan needs better sex education. It's also a really culturally prevalent issue that they don't know how/will avoid communicating properly because of potential conflict. They do some serious mental gymnastics to convince themselves that everything is fine. For. example, the guy saying he is helping the girls pay off their debt so he thinks he's doing a good thing despite not telling his wife about it because he doesn't want to confront her about something that he knows would upset her. I think a mix of these two problems, among a myraid of other issues is what causes a lot of these societal issues in Japan.
I agree with you when you say it's a societal issue and the mental gymnastics are crazy like you said. However, sex education is not the solution to this. Everyone can figure out sex on their own like they have 1,000 years ago, it isn't that difficult really. The education I am thinking about is more along the lines of how to solve complex social issues with other people, how to communicate effectively, and learning to understand another person and the importance of assessing their needs.
@@mahakhatib27 I agree with you that effective communication plays a key role in these issues. I didn't mean to highlight sex education as playing a significant role in these particular issues. I do think it's undervalued though and I was just agreeing with the sex education expert in saying that if they had better sex education in Japan, Japanese people could make more educated decisions around participating in these activities. I agree sex isn't hard but there are risks involved. I think more education across the board is always a good thing. I have been a little surprised at the Japanese schooling system, it doesn't appear to be as strong as I thought it was.
Do you think that America that has a "better sex education" is in a better place than Japan? I can see why some people would say yes and why some other people would say no. I think personally that each culture should find on its own what seems to work for them
@@stefanswiss3760 i don’t know, I’m not American. It’s also hard to compare it with different cultures since there are so many other variables that are different. You are right that they do need to figure it out on their own though. I can only give my perspective as an Australian living in Japan.
No, women just need to open their legs more. It's a difficult conversation to have with a woman, considering how defensive they get about it, so I don't blame the men for not speaking to their wives about it. The problem ultimately just comes down to women being extremely anti-sex, just like they are here.
It's simple, for anything like this, the women get attention that they didn't get before and the men get the same, attention, sex and respect they aren't getting at home. I think it was the Beverly Hills Madame that said "A man doesn't come to me when he is getting what he wants and needs at home."
a man will be a whore even if he was being treated like a king at home. The fact that Japanese women are so accepting is also alarming. As long as it goes both ways then it should not be a problem right?
A man marries and expects sex majority of the time, that's a key tenet of marriage: reliable and consistent sex. When a woman withholds it for whatever reason, justified or not, the man is going to look outside the marriage to get it, just like a woman for financial support or attention.
As an outsider, Japan seems a strange place. How does a relatively small island nation produce so much pornography and yet has so little sex in a marriage?
@@ViewByRay money for the porn producers... but the customers must be horny to consume all that smut... so if they are that horny, why aren't they having sex with their wives?
Those women who said they're okay with their husband going to brothels are possibly: 1. Getting married only to have kids as society dictate, it's a milestone they need to achieve to be considered success life as an adult 2. They no longer like their husband but also don't want to get divorce to save their own face 3. They got married simply to be housewife because then they will no longer need to worry about earning income. Well, at least this is what I can assume from watching Japanese & Korean dramas No women in their right mind can stand seeing their husband with another be it sexual workers or other type of extramarital affairs.
You're probably right. Living and working supporting yourself and being alone are difficult. I think many women want relationships exclusively because they want support, companionship, and perhaps the lifestyle of raising children. Even if they are attracted and love their husband they may find sex to be demanding on their body and emotions. Even if they enjoy sex with their husband the demands on their body and emotion can progress to eventually feeling like it is more burdensome than it is enjoyable. This is why couples need to talk about how to make things more enjoyable.
I disagree. If there's no emotional involvement and practiced safely, it's no threat to the marriage. There's no such thing as "all people" agreeing on this issue. You feel how you feel about it, others have different opinions.
@@griffinina What a weird response. Everybody doesn't think like you. Everybody doesn't share values, boundaries and morals with you. What I consider horrific may be something you consider minor and vice versa. That's called a difference of opinion and the world is full of people with different opinions and perspectives. There's no tragedy in someone disagreeing with you. Don't be so arrogant to assume that the world is supposed to reflect your assumptions, it doesn't, other people aren't extensions of your ego.
No amount of communication will convince the sex that is driven by emotion to find you exciting again when they aren't even self aware enough to know why they found you exciting in the first place. Failing to acknowledge women's true nature the way we acknowledge men's means this will continue to be a problem that men are expected to "fix" without any idea how, and both sexes telling you the answer to a lack of sexual attraction is "communication" and has something to do with "love".
Japanese men, well Japanese people in general, are very agreeable. That trait is universally unattractive to women sexually, in the bedroom they want a man who is dominant and acts like a sociopath. Young women (college age) will date a guy who is like that 24/7 but as they get older they want a guy who takes her out on dates and is romantic but can turn into an animal once they enter the bedroom, but in reality the realistic option is to find a guy who is balanced in between those extremes. A lot of the time women will settle for a polite guy who earns well and is stable for raising a family but they never found him sexually attractive in the first place. Once they stop having kids they stop having sex immediately, that is not just in Japan but globally a lot of men are in sexless marriages. Recently we found out that most men paying money on Onlyfans are older married men and not incels in their early 20s, married women to to put out more for their husbands even if they never thought he was attractive. "Communication", "doing more around the house" and all that other crap will not make her have sex more, if anything taking out that sexual frustration out on her in bed by being ]aggressive and assertive (to a point obviously) will be way more effective.
"Women's true nature"? As in what? Sexual? Because yea I would have to agree, we need to stop pretending women can't or shouldn't be this way, stop shaming them and then wondering why women don't have as much sex with their partners as they (men) want. Truth be told, many women are afraid to let loose with their partners for fear of judgement, which is no surprise, and when there's a lack of sex, eventually things fizzle out. Husband and wife alike, inevitably seek comfort and sexual outlets elsewhere. Ultimately, men created this issue a long time ago themselves, with things like religion.. Kind of sad really, no offense to any religious people. Anyway, we're dealing with self-perpetuating cycles at this point on both sides which need to be broken. To pin it all on one half or the other, is dumb.. Perhaps once we acknowledge this, we can have some semblance of genuine health as a collective society, globally. Once we _all_ drop the hypocrisy and stop lying to ourselves on various levels, we can move on.

@@blazingfire_0712 sort of, Japanese seem to still marry for conveinence rather then love, so there is like an agreement that the man provides and the woman cleans house and gets to have children. When there is no bond people don't care about cheating
That last women said it all. Communication, trust and respect can build closeness and in turn physical intimacy and both people are fulfilled, but you need to start by caring how the other person feels and being honest with each other. This is a sad downward cycle nothing good can come from this - broken relationships, younger people viewing that divide between parents and not wanting a partner or marriage. How do you expect to resolve the issue of depopulation. Resolve this and it will be one step.
To be honest, a woman who is 60 is going to have to work a lot harder to satiate a man to the point where he won't be tempted by 20 year olds. Is it not socially acceptable to give your man blowies under the table and get kinky as a 50 yo woman?
it's probably a problem that snowballed intona bigger issue from other issuses. Attacking prostitution is addressing a symptom, instead of what is likely a much larger set of problems.
@@Braxtonkai that is correct. Lack of communication and inability to really be ones authentic self, bottling up all those unfulfilled needs, repressed desires and having to only show a nice smiling face really slips through the cracks eventually.
Sex work anywhere is a long held tradition. Taking escorts off Craigslist or newspaper classifieds is just a cover in the US. Human trafficking of minors occurs in all 50 US states, DC and territories. Before the US Occupation changed laws, actual human trafficking of children was a thing, and legal in Japan. Japan is just more open about it.
In some European countries, the workers are required to test regularly. All customers are required to use protection. If mistakes are made and the worker gets infected, they are required to get treatment and prove that they have a clean bill of health again before returning to work.
Is student debt such a big problem in Japan ? What is the need to study if I have to pay money after selling my own respect and body? Japan doesn't have scholarships to help those kids in study
I worked at a university in Japan and from what I've been told and seen its less about university costs and more about luxury items. Girls compete alot with each other when it comes to branded clothes, the latest iphone, the latest handbag and status. Japanese hate being looked down on by other girls more than anything else in the world. I often see girls I know are from poor families walking around in top designer clothes and designer bags. So when they say they need money for college. It is not the cost of attending they are talking about. Its the cost of status and keeping up with the jones so to speak is what they mean.
@@jw841 I understand sir but don't you think we should be always think and limit ourselves according to budget. Because it's impossible to compete with people in the name of nonsense things like branded and makeup. Like I am from a lower middle class family in my country girls don't want to show off It doesn't matter if we are going to study not to show off. Sir I think these are preplanned by the Japanese exploiters who exploit girls. They make such norms so that the bulk of girls get trapped.
@@AnneMary-h1s I agree with you in principle but there should also be accountability and responsibility on the side of the Japanese girls. Like I've seen many are not doing this because they have to or are exploited. They do it because it is the easy option to get what they want. Since the beginning of mankind women have always traded sex for resources or status. This is essentially what marriage has always been about. And university girls are no exeption to this. They are trading services for resources. We may not agree or like this but its a big part of female and human nature. I am always sad to see it happen but these girls will always justify their behaviour and always blame it on others as well.
@@AnneMary-h1s I totally understand you, keeping up with the trend and brands shouldnt drive you to prostitution. But when we think of limitation and budgeting, I doubt these young kids would ever think about that. it's the last thing on their minds because being accepted is more important. it's the toxic culture whether in university or places like Harajuku. 😔 perhaps they weren't educated to stand their ground, or they had been bullied etc.
What a horrible situation for children to grow up in, no wonder so many chose to not even bother daing/marrying when they were exposed to such corruption and deception
I‘m from Germany and had affairs with a few Japanese wives and the reason why they didn't have sex in the marriage was always the same two: 1. no emotional connection 2. the man does not respond to their needs Regarding 1) Everyday life = foreplay (for women). If you deal with each other objectively 90% of the time and only create a romantic/erotic mood when you want sex, then it doesn't work for women. In my opinion, this is more of a problem that men cause. Regarding 2.) The responsibility here lies more with the women. Because none of the women communicated their needs with their husbands. I still don't know why, because the women were very explicit about what they wanted. And there was never any crazy stuff involved, so no fetish that would explain any shame.
@@henli-rw5dw To be honest, it is wild how normalized cheating is in Japan compared to Germany. I was introduced to most of the women by women I had already met. Friends, colleagues, once even a cousin.
Man, I can address a LOT of issues that's going on with Japan when it comes to this, but I mainly want to say the lack of communication, presence (which I would pair that with time) and intimacy is what comes it as the top 3, in my opinion. I get that Japan cheating is different there, but it's obvious that this is a huge problem when it can also take a toll on families. I can understand why they do it (because of those that live with their job 24/7), but there has to be a way that something like this can help build up for something to have healthier relationships.
@@ToeKnife166 I'm sorry, but even if that's okay to them, that's not a solution either. Just because the women look fine on the outside, doesn't mean they're okay on the inside. Too many of these situations are being masked.
@@ToeKnife166, they’re doing it because their men aren’t turning them on. It’s on the men to be more masculine. A good romantic relationship has one person that’s a lot more feminine, and another that’s more masculine. If any of the two fail to maintain that core essence, sexual intimacy disappears.
Well alot of japanese dont consider buying sex to be cheating so I guess thats 1 reason. The culture. Another 1 is that people probably dont have time for a relationship or can be bothered so buying is easier.
If it's *just* sex, I get how one could consider it not truly cheating. The idea is that *emotional* stuff is cheating and this is merely a transaction-based service without any real emotion. Again, I get it. If someone goes out to find someone else to date on the side, there's more likely than not going to be an emotional component in there somewhere.
Watching this makes me sad 😭 I hope I can have a good communication about sex with my future husband so I don't have to deal with these kinds of things
Consider this: sex was great until cancer raised its head and surgery was required along with chemotherapy. Then she declares that she is no longer “interested” in sex. He has supported her all the way during the cancer episode ams still has sexual cravings for her. He has not yet found satisfaction outside of marriage. What to do? Communication has not resolved issue. He still loves her as she is a good woman. Life is hell at this point. Hope you are able to avoid this situation and find yourself a good man to have by your side.
SpoofNPC Yknow, marriage isnt only about sex. If you can bring something to the table, he wont cheat on you. My wife hugs me when Im tired and knows when to give me space when Im stressed. And I reciprocate her love in return.
The example you got was way out there. The key to a happy marriage is (source: me. I'm an old married lady. Whether you believe a random comment on the internet or not is up to you. I'm too old to care, haha. But the advice is worth the 2 cents if your comment was honest. Not PERFECTLY married, mind you, but happily married. There is a difference.): 1. finding someone who shares your VALUES and your cultural attitude towards sex & marriage (this is actually why marriages within the same religion have both higher success and happiness rates than secular ones). Not getting this one in order will cause you a lot of heartache & hardship if you choose someone with different major life-values, no matter which way you swing, ideologically. 2. Communicate with that person like your life depended on it. No secrets. 3. They do NOT exist to make you a whole person (and vice versa). If you are not whole without them, you'll never be whole with them. Their existence does not change your baggage, and your baggage is not their problem (even if they want to share your load because they love you. It's okay to share. It's not okay to make the burden their problem instead of your own. You have to be able to sort yourself out.). 4. Mediocre sex had out of love is WAY better than good sex with feelings that have been compromised. It's just not worth it with someone you don't trust, imho. Life is too short to waste your time on people you don't love or who don't love you. 5. Your commitment begins and ends with you. This is the weird thing that arranged marriages get right: you are the master of your own mind & body. Your urges/desires do not control you. You are more than that. Many people in cultures with arranged marriage (like Hinduism) say "the commitment comes first, then the love." The sensation of Love comes and goes over the years. MUTUAL commitment & loyalty does not (emphasis on the mutual part. Many honest people get burned by this one). The fights happen. The anger and tears happen. Saying "**** you, I'd rather sleep on the couch" happens. Both parties CHOOSING to work through it is how couples go the distance. And if #1-4 aren't in place, then choosing to work through seems impossible. If 1-4 are in place, then chances are you work it out okay. Good luck on chasing your dreams for the future!
Make sure to let it be known to every man you ever get to know and all women should do this if they don’t want to end up in such a materialistic state of affairs with their husbands if you’re looking for depth in a man make it be known and you will have that I’d even be willing to take any woman who isn’t a materialistic fool that will cherish each other over money or anything else let me know
Interesting. I think there will be a wide range of opinions on a topic like this because many people have fundamentally different views of commoditized sex industries. Many people viewing this video probably think prostitution and sex work should be completely legalized, while many others likely deem it immoral or rotten to society. Ultimately it's rising popularity is simply a symptom of a larger problem that exists in pretty much all first world countries nowadays.
That is the best summary. Most people in relationships, especially married people, generally wouldn't be using such services if there weren't some serious issues with their work/life balance and lack of communication with their significant other. Japan, the US, Canada, ect. really need to address the problems that cause people to have to work so much
@@glennlgg6871 the man said that he is helping them by paying them for sex, this is exploiting someone who are in dire straits. Imagine if you had a daughter and she opted to take money for sex rather than turn to family for support.

It sounds like Japan needs to find some way to lower college costs or offer alternative paths to decent careers. It was mentioned a couple of times that young girls go into prostitution to pay off their student loans(2:00)(5:02)(7:38). Does anyone know if it is necessary to have a degree if you want a decent job in Japan?
It's the logical choice if you don't mind being part of that business, and while it's not as wide spread in other countries, students elsewhere do it too. Would you rather work at McDs at 10 bucks an hour and continue paying your student loans indefinitely, or get paid 10 times more while having (arguably) a more enjoyable job, albeit frowned upon? In most cases, you can make that choice freely, and are a consenting party. Not talking about underage girls, that's a separate issue, but one that probably isn't gonna be solved if the country keeps getting poorer, and social services and police are lacking (and the behavior is somewhat "normalized")
I'm Japanese and I paid off my entire college tuition with just a regular part-time job. I'll be honest, 99% of students have regular part time jobs to pay back their tuition. I don't know about their personal circumstances, but honestly, unless you go to medical school or a private uni where tuition is extraordinarily expensive, it is possible to pay off your entire tuition with just a regular job.
Communication is the KEY to every successful marriage. However, Japan has brought up the culture of trying to be nice and not wanting to bother another party or person, and keeping the hurt to themselves. I think some Japanese wives would giving consent to the husband and the husband not telling the wife about their doings just for the sake of not hurting each other, but rather they would have them hurt themselves. Does that make sense?? bottom line, communication, and working it out together.
I lived in Japan for years. Married people, both men and women, have lovers outside of marriage. It is normal. I'd estimate that 60% of the women I messed around with were married. They simply don't have the hangups us Westerners do about having sex outside of marriage. They are comitted to the marriage and just want to play sometimes, "asobu". But come 3pm, it is time to go home and get ready for the kids return from school and the husbands return from work. My wife is Japanese. She told me many times that she doesn't care what I do as long as I come home every day and be a good provider and husband... and to not tell her anything because she doesn't want to know about it
If this works for you guys, great. But it sounds like coping with a sad reality to me. There is something amazing about devoting yourself to one person for life. Its not easy, but nothing worthwhile in life is.
@@koogeejee If that is how you feel, great. Having sex with just one person for your entire life sounds and feels completely unatural to me. If it is ones choice to have sex with as many femals as they can, I can respect that too. Both are not easy roads to travel. Each with their own set of drama and challenges.
So the big main factors are "economy/finance" and "communications"? Communication with your partner is the easiest part, it can be mentally hard to break down barriers and ego to open up to someone, but if the both of you really want to make it work, good and honest communications is absolutely doable and you'd be surprised at how much assumptions were wrong. The big problem is the financial part. That point isn't always attainable as an individual, even worse so if you're already at the bottom. For every big success rag-to-riches story, there's 1000 unspoken failure stories. It's crazy how so many people don't understand that as more and more of the population struggles financially, society overall degrades.

We are not simple primates. I have never used this kind of services. At the end, it is just a temporary satisfaction and you are using a human being as an object for a selfish purpose.
This has been going on in Japan for centuries with the samurai having mistresses and such. Many would be led to believe, as I was once was, it was because of Japan's patriarchal culture with the samurai culture's machismo of egotistical and selfish men thinking that they can have it all, even if it was at the expense of thier women. But now I'm thinking that isn't it at all, it's just that women don't give a shit so long as that a lifestyle is maintained, hence wives denying sex with an indifferent attitude.
Another thing that can be mentioned with this is that if men in marriages are having less and less sex with their wives, that must also be contributing to the population decline. Japan really needs to make some deep societal changes for its survival.
This would explain why so many Japanese women even before finishing High School getting to the AV business. Producers of this kind of content don't fail to produce what men fantasize about.

Unlike other countries where religion plays a big role in social norms, japan doesn't have any religious restrictions on prostitutions so their society never saw that as something immoral. Prostitution is a deep rooted culture in china korea and Japan. They don't even think about it as something very serious. So, should we try to understand or declare moral superiority over the definition of "love or marriage" from a Japanese perspective? Or everybody else around the world also does something similar covertly, and the Japanese are just more straightforward about discussing it?
nope, not really, this is mostly part of japanese culture, i have never heard of any people going to prostitutes especially when you have a wife, and while i myself am not merried am friends with several married men, i have also been to other countries while brothels do exist the only people i do know that have used similar services are usually single man who are not looking/are not in serious relathionship, and even that is frouned upon, prostitution in general is not viewed positively, the reason its commen in japan is cause its more accepted and mainly because of the sex less marriage, in other countries, okey i dont know about others but in my country having no sex for so many months can lead to a divorce, again i dont think its bad, its difference in culture mostly i dont think others can claim moral superiority since people would do similar thing for no reason, some women/men cheat just for the exitment but even that will probably lead to a divorce the moment you are cought, as i said its just difference in culture, men use it cause they dont get it at home, women do it cause they get money, regardles of moral views from other countries its help both parties as long as the women are not forced to do it, but choose to, both those reason happen due to iconomical and marriage problems, and thats very, very commen problem in most countries
It used to be that way in France in Paris before the 2nd world war There were a mix between love mariage and mariage to get a life style. Some families would be very faithful, some others would accept "cheating" the important thing being to keep providing a good life for your family. Victor Hugo was one of our biggest writers (Notre Dame de Paris), the most famous of his time, at his death it was rumoured that half the brothel of Paris closed to pay him an homage (as he was a very regular client)

@stefanswiss3760 many things happen in life. Many factors affect life changing decisions or lifelong philosophies. Likewise, many aspects could contribute to a well functioning society or individuals. I hope it's not just a Japan only issue but rather a state of being for many other nations as well. But i do have to acknowledge the peculiarities of Japan as it is a country with its long complicated history, culture, mentality, and constant natural disasters.
It's Its excellent how you brought so many different points of view on the video. I think it would be mind-bogglingly stupid to start developing and implementing stricter law or any type of legislation against prostitution before trying to solve the economic reasons behind the surge of such type of business. Its appalling that the police only focus on punishing street prostitutes, it would be even worse if the police started tackling the customers as well. Street prostitution should not be criminalised at all, and instead should be properly regulated.
there is no supply without demand but there for sure is also (almost) no demand without any supply. the two sides are completing each other - only with some few little adjustments here or there. We already had videos on this channel - and others too - stating that not only men but even women in sexless marriages seem to use or provide that kind of service. but no matter of what people think about the morality of (married) people using prostitution, as long it is not forced and consentual between the parties involved, isn´t it better to have such option? what is with countries where prostitution is prohibited at all? this wouldn´t reduce cheating but might possibly increase sexual assaults and r*pe.
The biggest problem I am seeing is the lack of necessary communication and awareness of the other person's feelings. It's really a social issue that Japan in particular struggles with. The mindset of the people is not healthy and needs to change, or else the birth rate and the mental health crisis will continue to get worse. The women are too harsh in their expectations for their man, and the men need to be more masculine and deal with their issues, instead of ignoring or running away from them. Both parties are at fault here and it needs to change in the community level, not through the government. These are just my thoughts on the issue, and I would like to hear more possible solutions.
Looking at the commet section it doesn't give me much hope but they might be incel westerners tho i agree it both it more on the men side that need ro improve

I think it's very much like the one lady said, that if the women feel overburdened they might not want sex as much due to being so drained. It is also not ideal that the men are expected to work such unreasonable hours. There is no time for him to unwind much less help his wife either with raising the kids. It is hard to keep a healthy life that way, sex or not. I do think both sides could do more to communicate with each other their needs and work things out between them. The whole situation just seems kind of sad to me. The only way for it to change would be if the Japanese wanted it to, though, and that is entirely their decision.
Because most (not all) japanese married woman see infidelity as a hobby, and nothing wrong. It's ingrained in the culture. Married men don't get any at home, and single men don't see the point of investing so much time and effort to get a gf, just to be betrayed.

I believe the root cause of this social issue stems from a strong cultural background that is outdated and needs to be adapted to modern life once and for all. Below is a list of traditional Japanese cultural practices where both genders are forced to comply, hence causing Japan as a whole to regress in both economic and cultural progression: - Avoidance of conflicts of any kind in social and private life. - Culturally suppressing men from emotional expression due to traditional norms around masculinity. - Culturally expecting women to maintain harmony ("Wa"). - Culturally expecting women to restrain negative emotional expression. - Culturally expecting women to conform to the social role of “Yamato Nadeshiko” (the "perfect Japanese woman"), maintaining qualities like humility, patience, and gentleness. In recent years, there have been shifts in cultural attitudes; however, a collective update is essential.
@@markmuller7962 You mean the problem is the job market? There is no freedom of choice where you want to work? Is that a problem only in Japan that people are exploited to work in jobs they don't really like?
@markmuller7962 You don't know that. You don't know me. I know very well different job markets. Even in Japan, lowly educated women get jobs in fast food restaurants that are exploitative. You don't understand.
Probably, in many cases it's not "even they are married" but rather "because they are married". Commonly, with a marriage, as soon as some kids are in the house, you can forget about sex since the Wifeys seem to switch that activity OFF, never to be seen again.
it also doesnt rly help that lack of sex ed also makes that perhaps there's lack of knowledge on female pleasure. I bet that if their women actually enjoyed the sex as more than just tolerating it for the man or procreation, they would create the time to have sex together, kids or not. Not even a "Japan" thing; that's just how marriage works, which is all the more reason men shouldn't marry. Men don't gain any actual benefit by marrying; they only lose things.

I agree with many points in this video. It's true some men have a larger sex drive than others. This can be very hard and difficult for your partner or spouse. I don't believe sex services in Japan are bad, however it should be kept private from your spouse or partner, unless you're in a relationship where your partner enjoys multiple partners (?) It's true that many girls that choose this type of work can also become great partners in no way does it diminish their role as productive members of society. Unfortunately, mostly due to religious and cultural preference, some people might deem such work as negative.
Where's the decency? Or self respect. In marriage it's love making. You only do it to the person you love and marry. If it's out of marriage it's just a lust. Better to be single in Japan because marriage is just a piece of paper.
What infuriates me is when women say ‘you’re bad in bed’ and then expect you to just know what they like rather than tell you what they like, then they get upset when you inevitably seek comfort elsewhere. Ladies COMMUNICATION IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!
GENTLEMEN COMMUNICATION IS YOUR FRIEND TOO! If men would improve their techniques in the bedroom then women would not complain. All that book studying in school and no socializing, not to mention no dating allowed in schools has permeated adults in Japan to doing this. No communication and the aboslute fear of confrontation is a huge problem is Japan.
For better or worse, prostitution has always been a thing since forever and will continue to exist till the end of time unfortunately as much as people may not like it. A lot of people need to start asking themselves questions and look inward when it comes to stuff like love and sex.
A bit different from the topic of this video, but I wanted to input on “Because other people are doing it” mentality.. This mentality is another reason why people who tried to be righteous is always at loss, so there’s more people who don’t care anymore. But this excuse should not be justified. This has been a huge problem in Japan. Example: Guys going up to the girls doing Tachinbo. People stealing clams from places you shouldn’t steal from. Smokers smoking outside the area which is permitted. Bands playing outside when they don’t have permits. And many more.. This happens because there’s no law strict enough for people to stop. The police only warns you not to do it, but these people will never stop. If they get caught you get doing it multiple time, you will fined/arrested but that’s only if you get caught. There’s loop holes in the system because Japan is a country that heavily focuses on people’s goodwill. It’s a good thing but there should be stricter laws other than just warning..
It is. Your paying for companionship for the night. Sex isnt covered. But they can sleep together consensually if they want after the "date." They also define sex as contact of male and female organs. So BJ, hand jobs are "not sex." Clinton logic. Techinicalities and loopholes.
unfettered and unregulated prostitution is illegal. However, if you are a hired escort by a legitimate company, brothel or service, it is legal. Meaning, a woman cant simply choose to prostitute herself just because she wants to, it has to be decision stamped with her legal name,

1. Getting married only to have kids as society dictate, it's a milestone they need to achieve to be considered success life as an adult
2. They no longer like their husband but also don't want to get divorce to save their own face
3. They got married simply to be housewife because then they will no longer need to worry about earning income. Well, at least this is what I can assume from watching Japanese & Korean dramas
No women in their right mind can stand seeing their husband with another be it sexual workers or other type of extramarital affairs.

@@jkhmr8283 Indeed. In America or Japan
this
Exactly.

Is student debt such a big problem in Japan ?
What is the need to study if I have to pay money after selling my own respect and body?
Japan doesn't have scholarships to help those kids in study
Not only are Japanese colleges not free, neither are high schools.

It doesn't matter if we are going to study not to show off.
I‘m from Germany and had affairs with a few Japanese wives and the reason why they didn't have sex in the marriage was always the same two:
1. no emotional connection
2. the man does not respond to their needs
Regarding 1) Everyday life = foreplay (for women).
Wow 😮
Haha. You are helping them out. The man pay for it. Women gets it from u for free.

Why sugar coat it, women in Japan think it’s perfectly okay to neglect their husbands sexually.
If you like everything about your future spouse, except they are twice as interested in sex as you are, what do you do then?

Yknow, marriage isnt only about sex.
There is a difference.):
1. finding someone who shares your VALUES and your cultural attitude towards sex & marriage (this is actually why marriages within the same religion have both higher success and happiness rates than secular ones).
Make sure to let it be known to every man you ever get to know and all women should do this if they don’t want to end up in such a materialistic state of affairs with their husbands if you’re looking for depth in a man make it be known and you will have that I’d even be willing to take any woman who isn’t a materialistic fool that will cherish each other over money or anything else let me know
So this problem would be solved if couples just talked it out and communicated like adults. Unfortunately, not many adults act like adults.
Japan, the US, Canada, ect. really need to address the problems that cause people to have to work so much
Taking advantage of a persons circumstances is not helping them its exploiting them.
Ban employers then. Most people work because they have no other choice to survive.

Yes, it's almost impossible to get a job above minimum wage without one from what I understand
Thats a wrong take. Its cultural problem not financial. Even free college wont fix this.
Or maybe the girls should learn to cope in the same way that boys do instead of taking the easy-but-sleazy option?

This has been going on in Japan for centuries with the samurai having mistresses and such.

It is also not ideal that the men are expected to work such unreasonable hours. There is no time for him to unwind much less help his wife either with raising the kids. It is hard to keep a healthy life that way, sex or not. I do think both sides could do more to communicate with each other their needs and work things out between them. I believe the root cause of this social issue stems from a strong cultural background that is outdated and needs to be adapted to modern life once and for all.
Below is a list of traditional Japanese cultural practices where both genders are forced to comply, hence causing Japan as a whole to regress in both economic and cultural progression:
- Avoidance of conflicts of any kind in social and private life.

@@glennlgg6871 Even if it was that easy to find a job *for everybody* (it's not) you clearly don't understand the Japanese hob market and contracts
@@markmuller7962 You mean the problem is the job market? There is no freedom of choice where you want to work? Is that a problem only in Japan that people are exploited to work in jobs they don't really like?
@@glennlgg6871 No, you don't know the Japanese culture, the work culture and the work ethics
@markmuller7962 You don't know that. You don't know me. I know very well different job markets. Even in Japan, lowly educated women get jobs in fast food restaurants that are exploitative.
You don't understand.
Probably, in many cases it's not "even they are married" but rather "because they are married".
Commonly, with a marriage, as soon as some kids are in the house, you can forget about sex since the Wifeys seem to switch that activity OFF, never to be seen again.
for many that was the plan
@@valdius85 Lol
it also doesnt rly help that lack of sex ed also makes that perhaps there's lack of knowledge on female pleasure. I bet that if their women actually enjoyed the sex as more than just tolerating it for the man or procreation, they would create the time to have sex together, kids or not. So eat your woman out fellas, it does wonders.
Not even a "Japan" thing; that's just how marriage works, which is all the more reason men shouldn't marry.
Men don't gain any actual benefit by marrying; they only lose things.
Evening from the U.K, just come across your post and I seen a few you have posted, this is a hard won for me, if a lady wants to be involved then so be it, if you are forced then it a different question altogether, sadly it's been around for Hundreds of years in all Countries, it's not only women, men are often not spoken about, thanks for sharing ❤
Your belief does not apply to everyone
My favourite is pre modern Japan, Yoshiwara. 😶 Guess we never move on from that period!
We all pay for sex one way or another😂. Prostitution, if consensual, should be legal.
amen
What infuriates me is when women say ‘you’re bad in bed’ and then expect you to just know what they like rather than tell you what they like, then they get upset when you inevitably seek comfort elsewhere.
Ladies COMMUNICATION IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!
GENTLEMEN COMMUNICATION IS YOUR FRIEND TOO! If men would improve their techniques in the bedroom then women would not complain. Men never will accept that fact that they may not be good at sex but okay i guess that is above all logic and common sense. If you suck in the bed just find ways to IMPROVE your intimate life!
@@mariegiardiniThe key is..none until there is any real concession and sacrifices are made. well, unfortunately with the way the world works and so many rampant femin*sm who love to berate men at daily basis because of past grievances from even nobody like many of those in the comment section, good relationships are relic in the past. women and men need and expect different things and there are no ends to this, just like these two. It becomes the circle of evil spiralling down to destruction.
What kind of stupid take is this? Girl tells you you're bad in bed, so you have a reason to cheat because boohoo I need a girl who will call me daddy? What a fucking loser mentality lol
I bet you, that women that say that are also terrible in bed
Good job shifting blame away from cheaters. If your sex life is such an issue, break up. Doesn't justify this crap even if you find it "frustrating"
Everything balances itself out. It's not perfect but nothing rarely is.

@@begobolehsjwjangan2359 didn't you hear that the man interviewed basically couldn't satisfy his wife? Instead of trying to improve her pleasure too, he took the easy way out. Would you like to catch teeth while getting head all the time? fuck no. You'd try to tell her to change it, or shut that activity down, and thats what these women are doing. Because i bet that if these men actually made their wives have orgasms, there would be a lot more sexually active japanese relationships. So eat your woman out fellas, it does wonders.
All that book studying in school and no socializing, not to mention no dating allowed in schools has permeated adults in Japan to doing this. No communication and the aboslute fear of confrontation is a huge problem is Japan.
Dating in school doesn’t mean you will have a sex filled marriage. America has the same issue of sexless marriage
For better or worse, prostitution has always been a thing since forever and will continue to exist till the end of time unfortunately as much as people may not like it.
A lot of people need to start asking themselves questions and look inward when it comes to stuff like love and sex.
RObot Waifu's are on the way.
japan culture

Techinicalities and loopholes.
prostitution with penetrational sex is, non pene is ok, seems.
unfettered and unregulated prostitution is illegal. However, if you are a hired escort by a legitimate company, brothel or service, it is legal. Meaning, a woman cant simply choose to prostitute herself just because she wants to, it has to be decision stamped with her legal name,
@@youtubesadhominem9118 It's not legal. Only "play" is legal. But of course, in the bedroom, police can't check what they do.
Buying sex in both Japan and America it’s a little dangerous but simpler than a regular relationship such as marriage, where you can lose half of your possessions, if and when divorce comes….🇯🇵🇯🇵🇺🇸🇺🇸🇯🇵🇯🇵🇺🇸
Does that apply in Japan too?
Yep.
This also happens in Brazil... 🤦♂️
Korea is HELL.
The issue is not the divorce but the lack of integrity of both parties and that we have allowed feminist causes to poison the mind of women
It seems like Japan's birth rate problem isn't being handled at the source. Some better sex education would be a great start
I got annoyed when the man being interviewed said he was 'helping' the women by paying them for sexual services. If he wants to help them, he can gift them the money! Thank you for the video.
If his offer of work is not helping them then neither is their offer of services, so why do they do it?
That's called being a simp and a sucker.
@@Rampart.X Well said.
@danielintheantipodes6741 This is a silly statement. If you're going to put money out you should receive a service in return. It's good for both parties involved.

The way they just take being in a sexless marriage as normal is sad.
We live in a new generation where modern women’s standards are very high when it comes to dating you can pay an escort 200$ for an hour and a half and they leave right after but you could be spending more than 200$ for gas, drinks, 5 star restaurants and clubs and still won’t get no play by the end of the night
I say good for them high the bar because the bar been low for us men if you not going to improve have empty meaningless sex with a prostitute who put up an act no same if you like that but don't act it better because it different or be maidenless dont complain when yoy make yourself undesirable as andrew tate
A flesh light costs $50, is reusable, and won’t give you an STD.
Ah see but the 500 woman won't care if you sick and won't cover your back when it is attacked. Treating a potential partner to dinner and so on just for sex is the wrong idea... in that case you are better off just buying the service. Dating a woman is for the relationship ( which happens to include the Sep in due time). Not for the money spent on her and whether or not it gets you laid.

So it all comes down to the lack of communication again because of Japanese culture of reading the air. Anmoku no ryokai or kuuki wo yomu. You can't communicate about your sexual needs, so you outsource them and because your wife needs to uphold kuuki wo yomu or anmoku no ryokai she says she's okay with it but she's dying inside. So much for men reading the air
Well it's legal there so that's a major reason why it's so prevalent.
