Elaine Hagenberg makes beautiful music in general... but every now and then she comes up with a masterpiece that feels like it fell out of heaven's window. Thank you Ms. Hagenberg for such awesome, worshipful music that turns my heart to our King!
If you liked this, check out music of stillness. It’s basically this song but even more dramatic. Like same key and nearly identical chord progressions at some points, but it gives me goosebumps everytime.
Chills every time. Every song is a masterpiece crafted by the hands of God through Ms. Hagenberg.
I mistakenly gave the choir director my husband & I hired for our wedding this arrangement for this song instead of Paul Christiansen’s and was blown away by how beautiful it was. I got to experience this arrangement for the first time at our wedding along with all of our guests and loved every moment of it.

A lovely arrangement of one of my most favorite choir anthems. I first sang this in choir as a teenager. Some of the words are from Psalm 42:8, a prayer in itself alone.

As a musician, Elaine Hagenberg's music really is proof that it can unite people from all views, perspectives, etc through music. I may not be religious, but the way Hagenberg intricately and beautifully composes her work, she does a fantastic job at conveying a message and idea everyone can get behind. This is a great song for the times we're in and I think describes something we all wish for; comfort in such trying times. Yet another powerful, beautiful song. I only wish to be on her level of musical composition one day. I had the joy of singing "Music of Stillness" last year. If one day I get my dream of having a community choir in my hometown, there's definitely going to be a few (at least) of her pieces performed.
