As a choir director myself, this is literally the prettiest choir song I have ever heard. Almost drives me to tears! I love it and so want to use it in the future!
This is my Covid quarantine song. My senior year has been ended prematurely. I may never get to say goodbye to some of my friends, and I will never sing again with my choir. This song reminds me in this time of chaos and uncertainty that there is a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path, and that I am not alone.
I completely empathize with your statement. My senior year at college has been cut short too and I'm facing several severe tests of my faith. I'm sorry this had to happen to you, too.
We sang this in Baylor Singing Seniors, and the words and music hit me very strongly, as my wife is suffering from dementia, and these words were just what I need to hear, to feel, to remember. We do not walk alone. And the music also makes this a very striking and wonderful thing to hear, and was very moving to sing. Thank you.
I’m very proud to say that this was the very last song I would ever perform with my amazing brothers and sisters for my senior year of high school and no other words could ever describe how it moved me that day on my last concert with them, thank you all so much for everything ❤
This song reminds me of my siblings. My younger sister passed a few years ago, and my older brother the year after. The only thing that helped me and my mom through it was music. I felt like they got together in Heaven and showed us what music true, heavenly music was. I don't think they ever heard this song here, but they sure found it in Heaven and sent it our way. This is my favorite song by Elaine, and I love all her songs. This is why God sent angels to herald our Savior's birth. Music truly is the rope that ties Heaven to Earth.
Music 🎶 is how Jesus communicates with me. I feel my heart glow and soar with the eagle 🦅. I’m lucky because I can hear music 🎶 in my mind whenever I choose and music 🎶 comes TO me to comfort me on my life’s path.
This song has to be one of my favorites chosen for TMEA all-state. It completely captures the hope during this time of covid. That there is a light that doesn’t go out, and that we are all in this together - none of us are alone.
This song is my high school alumni song, and after making it into the top choir at my college, I just got word that we are doing a set at my old high school in a week, and I will get to join them again to sing this song that blessed me in such a hard season of life.❤
So beautiful and soothing as we recognize God’s divine presence in the words, lyrics, and Gifts 🎁 in its message, This is a gorgeous reminder of God who is always present, protecting, and the Providential Hand of God is Always and Forever integrated in the very fabric of our lives! Thank you for this gorgeous and soothing performance and blessing!
I always love Elaine Hagenberg's music! Our Civic Chorale accompanist and her husband gave this lovely piece to our church choir a few years ago in memory of their veterinarian. She died last week for a fast-acting brain tumor, and our Civic Chorale and church choir will sing this piece together at her funeral on Thursday.
I’m in tears with this exquisite rendition of a superb music by Elaine Hagenberg. I want to include this in my repertoire for the new choir I founded in University of Notre Dame. Kudos to the composer, to the conductor, pianist and of course to the lovely choir!
We did this with an orchestra a while back in March for a lent concert I was standing directly behind them and saw about 10 people crying when we did this. One of my favorite pieces we have done this year.
I sing this song for two people. First, my mom. She has been through so much but she continues to show up for me and my siblings and I will forever be grateful for her. The second person is myself. My younger self, that 11 year old girl crying in her room devastated that her parents are divorcing, the girl that sobbed in her moms arms when her dad left her, the girl that sat in her room during covid thinking that she was alone. Through all of my years of high school, I’ve felt like something was missing. This is my senior year and I feel more complete than ever. I have an amazing support system, and for the first time ever sense I was 11, I feel like I have an army behind me and that I’m truly not alone. I know that I still have a long way to go in order to truly heal emotionally, but I feel like this song is the start of a stepping stone for my emotional healing. ❤
Oh my God...inspired, from the composer's heart, beautifully performed with such artistry...I am a singer, but don't know if I could perform this piece without crying. That is my ultimate compliment. Thank you!
This song is such a comfort for anyone who has lost a loved one. I sent it off to a friend who just lost her husband -- and I'm learning it on my flute ... when this pandemic is done, I hope to play it with one of our pianists at church.
Elaine Hagenberg compositions and the words of so many that have gone before are a perfect marriage of depth and beauty and solace for me and so many isolated hearts through this time.
The University Choir I'm in is singing this song and I was given this version to listen to and it reminded me of Lord of the Rings when I first heard it.
I just purchased it for my ward choir (I'm currently the director). This song helped me through a rough time and made me feel closer to the Lord. I want to share the peace, hope, and joy of this music with others!
I am thinking on purchasing this for my ward choir! I sang this in high school and absolutely fell in love with this piece. I’m a bit worried my bishop won’t approve it😅
This fabulous song brings me some sense of loneliness because since of 2020 i havent been alive, i live in this state where i know i am an adult but things hast happened to pass so quickly that i feel like i missed something but im not sure what. Pray for me to not kill myself
Okmea 2022. Frankly I was worried it would be boring but....once we got there, with all the parts together, with such a talented choir.....damn. Just damn.
After two months of serious quarantine, this song lifted my wife and me to moments of tearful joy. Thank you , Elaine, for working so hard to share your great talent.
Oh, Elaine! So moves me to tears as I reflect upon the weariness of our lives right now in relation to COVID-19, social and racial justice, political upheaval, the difficulty of being a teacher right now, and the fires that are destroying so much in the western US. Thank you for using your gift!
I am a Tenor in a Episcopal choir just outside NYC. We have done this piece several times, starting during the Pandemic. It always gets tears from the clergy and congregation. We are doing it as a prelude to a funeral tomorrow. It is an incredible piece, thank you!
Hope one day my choir will have the pleasure to sing this wonderful piece for our yearly concert, especially for our anniversary concert. Knowing my choir, the water works will go wild.
Hallelujah. All I have is Christ, Jesus is my life. I believe that life is an endless hope with the Lord my God and Savior Jesus Christ and a hopeless end without Him.
Elaine - my choir has performed many of your glorious pieces, but this has taken on new meaning since the death of my wife. Thank you for providing healing in the wilderness by sharing your immense gift. You and your music are both a gift and a grace.
This songs literally brings me to tears as I remember my sweet days with my loving parents. I have to admit I have a lot of regrets, but as they say the only thing you can do is to accept that they are in a much better place and I have to learn to walk the path on my own. The path that I chose and the path which I know I will travel with them on my side.
WE DO NOT WALK ALONE: NOSOTROS QUE CREEMOS EN DIOS CAMINAMOS FIRMAMENTE CON FE EN JESUS CHRISTO. NO TENGO PALABRAS PARA EXPRESAR EL BELLO SONIDO QUE PRODUCE ESTA MUSIC PRECIOSA QUE LLENA LAS FIBRAS DEL CORAZON Y ALMA CON CALMA Y SERENIDAD!!! PRECIOSA VOCES!!! MIL GRACIAS, BENDICIONES!!!!
Beautiful music. All speak to us of God’s peace, tranquility, as well as human-ness. Thank you Elaine for sharing with countless people your God-given talent and abilities. ❤

Thank you! Those of us who are now widows and live alone find it so difficult at times when we aren't able to be at services as we once were! I used to sing in the big Dells choir for years. Bless you, my dear, for sending the beautiful song.
As a music education major and 1st Tenor (and usually 2nd Alto because I can easily sing Alto), that low Alto note on "stone" at 1:07-1:08 just hits *different* and I love it!
This piece provides comfort and peace every time I listen to it. Thank you for this gift to all of us especially during these trying times. You are a blessing from God.
This last year had too much darkness. This song has become my go-to to put me at peace and see some light. Thank you Elaine H. and to our Choir director Julianne who brought it to our church.
During this often stressful and challenging time for so many of us, this song has brought such comfort to me. My choir rehearsals are currently postponed and it's wonderful to hear such lovely chorale music. We sang "Through Love to Light" during our last concert.
As a choir director myself, this is literally the prettiest choir song I have ever heard. Almost drives me to tears! I love it and so want to use it in the future!
High praise from a choral director!
I am actually singing this song in school and I'm a tenor and I really enjoy it

I can’t be the only person excited to compete with this music this year
Hello you are not. This is my choirs finale piece
Sitting here in isolation from CV-19, and this is making me sob.I am a church music director with my choir on hiatus from the virus.
It is a sad time for all of us choir conductors.
I am in a synagogue choir, and we are singing on Zoom. Not quite the same!!
Ditto.
Seeing these comments from 2 years ago, and how things have changed since then, how is everyone doing now?

I feel the same way. It's one of my favorites this year for that reason.
If this doesn't touch your soul then you have my deepest pity. Enough to make a rock cry!
I’m not one to cry, but man did this make me.
I think this is the kind of song Angles would sing!! Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to listen to this song!
So glad Mrs. Christie chose this for our senior's graduation
This song is helping me get through the sudden death of my wife. May have to put it in the spring concert.
My mother died too last oct. 2019. And this song gives me comfort and peace. God never cease to give me what I needed. Praise Him!
Only God is the shelter where thou go...
And you will never walk alone . ❤ A beautiful hymn.
This is just lovely, thank you for sharing.❤
thank you for this beautifully sung song of faith to God

This piece is a healing piece especially when what the world is going through right now. No wonder my choir director chose this piece.

Beautiful in every sense - my compliments to all involved and most especially to the composer :)
