Personally I think the cars are throwbacks to the first intro where he says he don’t care if he’s nameless everyone is driving around aimless he knows where his lane is…. He chooses to show he’s so damn comfortable in his lane he will crawl out the car and sit on the roof, for me there is no other way to visualize that because as you learned he doesn’t do anything without meaning!
The cage was representing his safe room in his mansion that he doesnt let anyone in. But now his growing fanbase is forcing him to start opening the doors to the mansion and let people in. I believe the cage is another physical manifestation of his mind; you saw a literal house as his mansion before, now it's a caged and he locks himself in his own mind because he feels more comfortable. The fans coming in for pictures show that he lets people in (his fans) his own mind through his music. I believe the car scene is him working outside of his mind for a bit, but then he goes back in...eventually, he lets all of his fans in at one so that we're all joined together with him...in his head, in his music.
