Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy this vlog of a day in my life as an English teacher at an international kindergarten in Namyangju, South Korea. I have been working here since October, and I have really enjoyed it so far. Every school is different, so for those of you looking to come teach in Korea, don't expect that every school will be like mine. My own daily schedule has changed several times just since beginning my job! But this is close to what every typical day looks like for me from start to finish. If you like this video, be sure to leave me a comment or a thumbs up, and subscribe to see more content about life in South Korea :)
And for those of you who are returning viewers, I am SO SORRY that it has taken me a month to upload again. This video is much longer than some of my other ones have been, and it was a challenge to get back on top of my editing after I fell behind. But, the good news is that I now have vlogs scheduled to post in the next several weeks, so there won't be another gap between videos. Thanks to everyone for watching!
It's fun to watch your vlog as Korean living in NYC almost 20 years. I am missing Korea. Hope you have great time and memory in Korea.
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching! I am so glad my videos can be a reminder of home for you :)
Such a lovely overview! I just graduated from college and am moving to South Korea between February/March to teach Kindergarten too. Even tough my degree is in ESL, I am nervous as to what to expect as a new teacher. Seeing your video made me remind myself how exciting for this new experience.
Thank you so much for watching! I'm really glad that my video helped get you excited for this new phase in your life. Every school over here is super different, but I am confident that you will have a really impactful time over here in Korea. It's a great place to live and work. Excited for your move! :)
I loved this video! I’m from Canada and am moving to Korea late January/ early February to teach Kindergarten as well. I am quite nervous because I don’t know what to expect but this video has been eliminated some of that stress! I can’t wait to move to Korea and your videos always get me more excited! Happy holidays 🎄🎁

Stay safe
Great to know, I am planning on doing more vlogs like this in the future! Thanks for watching :)
Yes I love the daily life vlogs!
Yayy!! I’ll definitely be making more of them soon. Thanks for watching! :)
You need to start knocking them around when they get unruly, that's what my teachers used to do when I was in school in Korea. If it's still allowed that is 😊.
Oh gosh, definitely not still allowed! Plus, my kids might get noisy, but they’re almost never being deliberately bad kids haha
But thank you for watching!! :)
Aaahhhhh yesss finally 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you for watchinggggggg!! ❣️😊
Love this vlog, please do more.
Take care and keep thriving!!!! Xxx

Love this video!! Just curious, did you have to decorate or buy things for your classroom like we have to in the US? I’m moving to Korea soon and not sure if I should bring my teaching stuff.
Thank you!! My school ordered a few things for us to decorate with, but I also bought some stuff. Most things in my classroom are just things I printed out and laminated
I can’t wait to be a teacher 👩🏫
You’re welcome for the coffee! I got you 😘
Always having my back!! 🥰

Hi! Thank you for watching :)

Thank you so much for watching!
Love this :) Did you use a programme to apply for your job/apartment deal? If so do you mind sharing your process? Xo
I didn't, I just found a job via Kang Recruiting Agency, who I got connected with on Dave's ESL Cafe. It's really easy to get connected with jobs and recruiters on that website. You should check out my video on finding an English teaching job, I give lots of details there! :)
Hello

I’ll teach you to keep your plants alive 😘

Hey I love your videos, I have a question how do you communicate with the children do you know any Korean or ?😁
Hello! Thank you so much for watching! I don’t know much Korean, but my students speak enough English to comfortably understand basic instructions that I give in class :)

What school is this?
How long are you planning on staying in Korea?
At least a year! That’s how long my current contract is for, and I’ll reassess after that.
How’s the work load? Is the pay ok? At least no foreign income tax. Seems like it’s a taxing week for you. Welcome to adult world. I’m exhausted at the end of my week as well.
Work load is very manageable, and the pay is great. Especially because some substantial costs of living, such as your rent, are typically covered by the school you work for. Thank you for watching! :)

Thanks for watching!
ESL is a dead-end job, people are way better off staying in their own countries and looking for work.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I think the draw for most ESL teachers (including myself) isn’t the prospect of a long-term career, but the opportunity it provides to live and work in a country that isn’t your own for a few years.
