so sad that hes retired, but he did it for his own health and happiness so power to him
Pretty weird seeing this knowing that he already retired from volleyball completely a couple of years ago.
I personally wouldnt call less then 2 years a couple of years :D
But yeah idk if he completly retired as well, he had some personal problems but its unlikely for him to come back.
@@nunilp2055 It was never personal. Speraw never liked him although Ben Patch did everything to go to Paris, Speraw cutted him to insert Ensing overnight. Ben Patch always said it was homophobia to say the least and it seens likely. Speraw kept Stahl who never really was very impactfull to the team but was a vocal Trump supporter, who Patch obviously never got along with.
Patch is not human, but huhmann is.
He hit the ball at 382 cm, it is not his vertical jump. Let's assume that his hand when standing reaches something like 280 cm, then his vertical jum is 382-280, which 102 cm.
dont be stupid , the volleyball net is 243 , he can not reach over the net 40cm while standing
@@theannguyen2336 Stupid? You do realise this is a 6'8 (203cm) guy with an even longer wingspan.
@@theannguyen2336 BY name calling, you showed what you are. Regardless how far above the net he can reach, this is the definition vertical jump. By the way, if he is 6'10', that is 208 cm, his reach could be easily somewhere close, t what I used a a demonstration point.
Interesting debate@@jiritichy7967 . Let's see. I'm 185 cm tall and can just touch top of the net (243 cm), That means my reach is 243-185 = 58 cm. Assume reach is proportional to height. Ben's height per Wikipedia is 203 cm. so, (203/185)x58 = 64 cm. Add that to 203, get 267 cm. That's his purported reach. 382 - 267 = 115 cm, or 45 inches. That's a rare vertical, but not impossible. Does anybody remember Jason Ring? He supposedly had a 50 inch vertical.
The real question in the minds of myself and many others is what happened to this young man? he seemed the natural successor to Matt Anderson. In one clip above he's got braces on both knees. Knee problems? Makes one think, how does a Matt Anderson do it, year after year, match after match with practices inbetween...Personality issues? Is USAV still somewhat homophobic? Anyway, with sadness we say best wishes Ben, we love you, appreciate what you've amazingly done for VB, do what you need to do.
Good work, thanks.
Did he permanently end his career ?
he ended it for ever, he is doing model work now
Prime example of jump height =/= volleyball skill
How is he an example of that as a professional player who played with the US national team??
@@hh-mq9roFr, Christenson just carry>>
Nah, dude just play with Micah and Grankin, if u don't set him fast and high enough he 100% will be blocked
@@MolodechYou can't block him cuz he will hit above 3.60 meter😂
@@Molodechcuz he has a HUGE reach
Why did he stop playing so early
lost passion
You don't measure a vertical by the tips of their fingers, You measure it at the bottom of their feel. NO ONE can jump 12 and half feet in the air.
He can reach 12 feet easily cuz he has overpower vertical jump
3.80 but 4 point from 80 attack mach
That is a stupid short
