- Chain typically comes in pre-cut lengths, so you will need to cut your chain to size. We will show you how to use a chain breaker tool, as well as how to reconnect your chain with either a Master Link or a Master and Half Link Combo.

You made it look so easy. I spent like a 1/2 hour trying to get mine on but I couldn't get one of the pins to go through the hole at first I don't know why it wouldn't fit through so I ended up drilling the pin hole out a little bit till the pin fit through and then once i got the ppin through the hole it was like the pins weren't long enough to hold on the plate and clip on the other side. I could only fit either the plate by itself or the clip by itself not both. So I skipped the plate and only put the clip on the other side and yeah that was a mistake cause not even 3 minutes of riding and the hole chain fell off lol. So annoying !! Now I'm waiting on a 10 pack of master links to come in the mail to try again.
Don't forget the closed end of the master link clip goes in the direction of travel

Ive never heard of a half link but its seems useful as hell. Is it rated just as strong?
Not as strong. I wouldn’t use one on a race bike. But strong enough for most applications

You would use the half link with the master link if you needed a bit more length? Would this be due to a new chain stretching?
Sorry if it’s a silly question but I am completely new to all of this and trying to get as much info before I start my 1st project this spring.
So I’m the chain there is inner and outer plates. To put the master link both ends need to be an inner plate. But sometimes when you measure out ur chain it always ends up with an inner plate on one end and an outer plate on the other. So you break the outer plate and add a half link so the chain fits. Hope this helps

Half links are shorter than a typical chain link. I only learned about them because I was informed one would be ideal for my bike. They can also be used if one needs more precise chain length.
With the current length of my chain now the rear wheel bolts are at the end of the dropouts. The ride is super spinny(48x17 ratio). Chain only has about 100 miles on it as well so it hasn’t stretched out much at all.
I realized I’d need to remove a few links in the chain but the owner of the shop recommended a half link. The seattube of my bike is aero designed and takes up about an inch of the chainstays. The chainstays are a little short so this doesn’t give me a lot of space to work with in regards to my rear wheel and chain.
Hello I just installed a stage 2 kit on my gx200 I'm having trouble with it cutting in and out at high rpm it's getting plenty of fuel I have checked my coil Gap over and over the coil test good ... any suggestions?? I'm running a 22m carburetor with bigger jets.

Can you split a chain without a chain breaker tool?
Grind the pin until it is flush with the plate and use a punch to push the pin through
