    That method works perfectly specially on reefs. If you use the anchor the way the companies sells them most likely you will lose a lot of money on equipment if you use it on rocks. I recommend re-tying your anchor like he has it on this vid! Happy fishing 🎣.

    LOTS of good info for a total newb(ME!) to kayak fishing.......or even just kayaking. Definitely subbing to see what else is coming along.

    The ring clip is not strong enough to hold. Use a large dog leash clip or a carabiner. I use SS on my clips. Though it is a good system the ring clip is really a weak poing.

    Nice job on the video. I see so many people use big zip ties on the top of the anchor, you can’t break the big zip ties.

    Mi amigo. Buen video. Solo una observación, si la soga la dejas asi de tirante el precinto nunca va a cortarse si queda trabada. Debes dejarle unos centimetros de panza para poder cortarlo. Saludos desde Argentina.

    Perhaps, a thinner, tangle-free cord would be a better choice.

    It looks like you used zip lines around the line to secure your anchor for the emergency jerk if it ever hangs up. Can you break that top zip as planned when you're 20' on the surface?

    • @BillsCatch22
      @BillsCatch22  6 років тому

      I did use zip ties. I used small ones. I've yet to get the anchor stuck so I can't say for certain, but I think it should work.

    • @RenaissanceMan929

      might be a good thing to test it BEFORE you really need it?

    • @831sabino
      @831sabino 6 років тому +3

      It will break, I have done it at 110 ft deep. Use a small zip tie. Test the zip ties with your fish scale (if you have one) at your house to see how much force it will require when you really need to break it loose. Hope this suggestion made sense!

    The zip ties are actually surprisingly strong. I would recommend giving the edge of the zip tie a little nick with a knife just to get the break started.

    Don't ya need a chain on your anchor 1st so it lays right?

    • @BillsCatch22
      @BillsCatch22  6 років тому

      I don't know if that applies here...

    • @federicareverie8198

      What do you mean by "lay right"? Why, is a chain necessary?

    • @Vera-xu3xw
      @Vera-xu3xw 3 роки тому +1

      @@federicareverie8198 you should watch a video on anchoring a boat.
      The chain is heavy so depending on the size of the boat you need so much chain to rope.
      The chain will lay flat on the bottom of the lake while rope just floats.
