I have a two of these chairs and they are very comfortable. I chose this model due to its max weight capacity and long backrest. But I was still very weary at first as I weigh 105kgs, and they are so light and flimsy looking. But I needn't have worried as they fully support my weight and they are comfortable for my wide-ish frame. But since they are very light, on windy conditions, I would highly recommend pegging them down to the ground using a string/guy rope & a tent peg. Otherwise, you'll find they will be blown half way down the campsite or worse, into the river before you know it. Ask me how I know. 😁
Great advice thanks, Fatman Overlanding, I too have found my Helinox chairs to be blown over in the campsite on account of them being lightweight, I've made a habit of tucking them somewhere secure overnight or if I am leaving the campsite. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors When I leave the campsite or go to bed, I pack them away. I'm referring to while being at camp. Such as quickly getting up to get a drink or food from the fridge, only to find your Helinox chair has flown across the campsite. I've even heard from other owners their Helinox has been blown onto their firepit and melted the seat material. 😲
@@fatmanoverlanding The Helinox being blown onto the camp fire has happened to Stefan from AllOffroad Adventure YT channel. But lucky for him, you can buy parts from Helinox.
I have a pair of this exact chair and I can confirm their high-end quality materials and finish. NOTE: This is not an ideal chair to be used sitting up on a table, either for eating, playing cards, or trip planning etc. I still bring my compact director's chairs for that. The Helinox Savanna is a chair for reclining back to chilax, or take a catnap, by the camp fire. 💤😴
Good advice, Hammer Rocks, these are definitely more for reclining than sitting at a table. I carry some collapsible stools for use at my camp table, and use my Helinox chair for relaxing. ~ Ben
I own one and for me it had a critical flaw is that the seat depth is to short. I am 6ft tall 106kg. I think the build and material is top notch, but for me I am more comfortable in the REI XL but that one the fabric didn’t hold😕
Thats great feedback - I've heard from a few big blokes that they absolutely love this chair. It just goes to show comfort can be quite subjective, so its always great to try chairs out in person if you can. ~ Lauren
The Savanna is basically a bigger, more loungie version of the sunset. Whilst the overall dimensions and weight rating are the same, the Savanna has more fabric and a much larger/deeper seat area. Hope that helps. ~ Lauren
As much as I wanted to love the savannah chair I just couldn't get comfortable. I'm 199cm and I had the seat cutting into my thighs I am sticking with my sunset chair which seems to have a longer seat.
Is the sunset seat depth deeper? I want the deepest seat depth I can find. Looking at other premium brands like Agnes, Nemo? Any other high quality brands out there?
Great review for a great chair. I have two and recommend them to others. You mentioned rocking in the chair and I noticed that rocking feet are made by Helinox. When will Snowys get them in as I want two please?
We don't carry the rocking feet as a readily available item as they are not large volume items sorry. It would be most efficient for you to order them directly from Helinox - helinox.com.au/. ~ Ben
They have a weight rating of 145Kg, Rob, so you should be fine. The only consideration is that the heavier the occupant, the more they sway around. ~ Ben

Thank you! I am looking for this style chair with armrests. I will have to find one of these and have a sit.
They're so comfy!

Hi Ben and Lauren. When will you guys be getting the tactical sunset chair and tactical tables made by Helinox?.. Thanks 😊
We don't have plans to include the tactical range from Helinox sorry. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors No problem Ben. Thanks.
How does the Savanah compare to the Sunset chair?
The Savanna is basically a bigger, more loungie version of the sunset. Whilst the overall dimensions and weight rating are the same, the Savanna has more fabric and a much larger/deeper seat area.
Hope that helps.

hi sir, what detachable chair frame/rod design like this that you think have taller backrest & wider seat size than Helinox Savanna? thanks 🙏
The Savanna is the biggest and has the tallest backrest of chairs like this that I am aware of, 247noc. ~ Ben

How do these chairs cope with 130 kgs
They have a weight rating of 145Kg, Rob, so you should be fine. The only consideration is that the heavier the occupant, the more they sway around. ~ Ben
One chair how much price

Not as good as the Playa chair !
That's a great option too, James, it has a different leg design that is ideal for soft ground. ~ Ben
Snowys have the optional accessory of a ground sheet for very soft ground.
