Life as a Royal Marine Officer

- It takes a special state of mind to be a Royal Marines officer. Because you will lead your men during vital missions -- in all weather, all circumstances and across every terrain.
You'll need to excel in leadership, planning, tactics and decision making. Because you'll be responsible for the morale, training, effectiveness and the wellbeing of the men under your command. But with the training you'll get at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) you will develop all the skills you need to be an effective leader.

Training to be a RM Officer is particularly tough. You must be super fit, and that includes whole body. You need to be able to operate when cold and soaked through, either by immersion or inclement weather. You must be able to operate on little sleep and still lead your chosen men. At the end of all this, you must be able to share a few jokes with your men. Training is long and arduous, and only the very best will make it through. An important point -- You must be able to recognise right from wrong and take that course of action which would bestow honour to your Service, your men, and your friends and family. It is a tall order.
IF not sure. RE read on the above intel..👌👊

I’ve wanted to become a RM officer for years now. Finally submitted an application last week, before my A-levels. I’m already at a good physical ability from years of weight training but I plan to to do everything I possibly can to be in the best physical shape over the summer. I understand the application process is tough and arduous but I have faith in my ability to try my very best. And if it doesn’t work out, then best be sure I’ll be back next year for more.
Best of luck. I am also doing alevels but will go to uni then apply so I have a plan B.
I’m 11 and want to be an officer this is my dream since I was 5 in a couple years I will try tell you all if I made it or not

Man, I wish I'd joined the marines instead of going to uni.
Do it after, you’ll probably have a family by then

To be an officer you have to go to uni anyway.

I only wish for an attempt to try to become a royal marine, but i can't even try because my vision just about doesn't meet the standards.

I really love marine life
Are you marine?
He goes snorkelling.
Somethings in life you just have to bow down to and admit you’re nowhere near good enough in every sense to ever become a certain thing. For me, it’s being a Royal Marines Officer 👌🏻🇬🇧
how do they endure the different kind of weather?I'm here in a place with out snow, but, im trembling because of the cold weather. What more to the soldiers, they do the training on extreme coldness.
+Elizabeth Armada They send them to Norway during winter and make them swim in the icy water
Same here, just need to get them A levels and 180 UCAS points
you need to be fit
Really?

I found a mock Royal Marines officer entry test on the Royal Navy website and I got the pass mark. I’m 15 btw and joining when I’m 19ish

This may sound crazy seeming as I am a girl but I want to be a royal marine...
Gamer Girl061004 there has been more and more talk in recent years if that being an option. I personally don't see a disadvantage in that being a thing, as long as they are separate units.
You can now! They are allowing women to enlist as a RM :)
@the gaffa mate you are just sad you joined 2nd best and not royal marines
@the gaffa ok jaffa cake
I'm really keen in joining the Royal Commandos, especially as an Officer, but my biggest concern would be life after service, how hard is it to re-adapt to civilian life and make a living?
The Royals are actually pretty good at getting you readjusted. The Army's not bad either but because the Marines are such a small outfit, they tend to take much better care of their membership. As a regular Marine you'll have opportunities to do BTECs and other qualifications for your specialisations and the same is true of officers to a certain extent (apparently). But the other thing about an officer is that their job is essentially a management and leadership role which has huge applications in the civilian workforce.
I am 15 and I want to become a Royal Marines officer. Does anybody know if you are an officer, can you specialise as a sniper and do the sniper course?
No
thanks
However you can be placed within sniper ops. In the end mate, trust, you don't want to be a sniper. Shitting in cling film and lying in pneumonia giving conditions? There's a reason Officers don't do it.
@Nigel Shaw, your'e wrong, if they show the correct aptitude then they can take the sniper course, but they need to be in at least a couple of years.
@Statiq, it;s not just snipers who use clingfilm, ordinary Marines use it as well as they can also be in a OP situation.
I wanna go just to train than leave
Solider life is not for me to much stress
Wish i could join without my blooc disorder
i want to be a reme but i also want to be a royal marine comando
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great respect 🇬🇧
🇵🇱🤝🇬🇧🕊️
Why are they so piled up on every movement , got to spread out.
anyone know what is the minimum time you can sign up for as a officer to join the royal marines
I believe that when u pass training, you are signed up for 4 years. However, I believe you are allowed to leave in extreme circumstances.
cheers mate
+making money but you might need to pay money to leave early if
You can go straight into the marines as an officer but you have to be aged 17-24 years old
Do I have to go to college to become one?
Do all marines have to work on ships?
If you serve as a Royal Marine Commando, you're probably going to end up on a large ship at some point, as a sort of boarding team
When can u join the cadets
12 years old
BRUH these lads must be tired
Froggy your name and your picture 😂😂 I love him
I would love to jump out of a helicopter into the sea!
i think you need to have a degree to be officer
Sadik Ranuid not necessary
What else does an officer do apart from lead the men?Is there a lot of paper work to handle?
Of course
Well i dont know if the US Marines is the same thing but im pretty sure not all officers fight cause some may have different jobs and im pretty sure once you hit a high enough rank like General or something than you do nothing but paper work.
Paperwork, yeah, but less risk in the end, more reward, more valor and more money, which counts for more when you leave the force.
T D it's slightly different in the Royal Marines as unlike the USMC, Royal Marines are an all Infantry force
