Day 11, How much sleep are you getting? How did you manage sleep? Its a lot of trust in your equipment and technicals to be able to turn off for a few hours each time.
I never really 'turn off' as I can only sleep for 2hr at a time. I wake up naturally. But on that crossing I lay down most of the time so just dozed as my body needed. One has to be careful with the self steering if wind shifts occur, but that far away from land in a predominate W/SW air flow not so much of a problem.
@@sailingopheliacompass2997 That is a long time to be focused and very little 'real' sleep. Its easier for me to imagine now how accidents may happen. Congratulations to you. I really enjoyed your videos. Thanks.
Really enjoyed this video. The little Bukh i presume burns approximately a litre an hour. You say you had 140 litres in Jerry Cans. How big is the tank on the boat itself? That was quite an extended sail and you planned your limitations well.
Bukh 10HP & it uses less than 1l/hr on middle revs. Don't have a rev counter. The main tank is 45l & I normally carry another 4 jerry cans of 20l each which gives me 700nm range at 5kts. Enough to motor across the Great Australian Bight.
How do you find the Compass 29? I’m looking at getting one myself and doing the east coast. What’s it like in very rough weather?
Interesting video good seas. Looks like sails pretty well.
Ophelia is slow with all my work paper & extra wt. like generator, 5x20l diesel containers, food etc. Sails/motors at 5kts so can't complain.

Hi...What motor is in you yacht, and how much fuel dose the main tank hold, and how many ltrs per hour dose she burn...?..

@@sailingopheliacompass2997 thanks, I just bought one, but she is powered with a larger Volvo, so will have to work out fuel flow.
