Aviation is amazing. It’s great how someone like you that has just gone on their first long haul flight, has been a part of aviation for much longer. It proves that aviation as a whole is just bigger than going on planes (although it is great).
Love long hauls, don't remember my first LH experience of Hong Kong to Dubai with the Cathay queen of the skies when I was around 2 months old, but I still wish I could relive that at my current age till this day. Very well-put together trip report Brandon, huge thumbs up from me!
Cool did they let you look inside a cockpit, I went this airline when I was flying from London Heathrow to Islamabad airport pakistan via Abu Dhabi intl airport before my wedding back in late february 2022 . Love to fly again with them, but the food was bit bad unfortunately. I will love to look at the cockpit of an etihad 787. Didn’t get change to look at the cockpit. Maybe another trip arrange soon tbc.

Hi Matt, I would be lying if i said I kept it on at all times, took it off for obvious things and sleeping (not that I slept much but I can’t sleep with a mask on!), seeing as masks aren’t a requirement at all in the UK, people certainly took a more Laissez Faire approach especially on the way back to the UK - A lot of people on board didn’t wear there’s at all and flight attendants didn’t seem bothered. All in all I was probably masked for about 2/3 of the flight, frequent drinks meant that it wasn’t practical to keep it on!! Enjoy your flight

They didn’t weight my hand luggage at all, could’ve been 20KG for all they know! It was only a small backpack so I guess looking at it told them enough

A long haul flight is usually classed as any flight longer then 6 hours or longer the 2500 miles (both apply here) but i fear we are delving into minutiae here.
Worst first experience of our flight. Especially at Abudhabi check in. Check in people treat you like criminals and they definitely are racists . Had a horrible time during the checking in. We are never again flying in Ethihad ever.

Great video, not done a long haul for years to the Dominican Republic and that felt long. Approach also close to the F1 track at 12:43 🙂

7 hours is not long haul. More like medium haul. Try flying to the far East. For example. Abu Dhabi to Sydney is 15 hours. Now that is long haul
