I listened to this game with earphones on in the pub. Everyone else was watching the UEFA Cup final, which was goalless. They couldn’t work out why I kept screaming my head off! What a mad night! Can we have the final against Barnsley?
@@keithstapleton7805 I don’t you can blame the managers or evans for the first few years. Evans threw a lot of money at the managers and the fans were supportive of those appointments. Criticsm of evans really comes from about 2015 onwards when he has a manager (McCarthy) who got the club into the play offs but he wouldn’t support him financially then sold players. The club should not have been relegated from the premiership in 2002, that was where the real rot started. They had come 5th and had everything to build on. It was this relegation and the huge money wasted on players which caused the club to go into administration and it was from that which the rot started.

Bolton , dirty cheats got what they deserved. All their players, bar one, including the substitutes were either booked or sent off. Not one Ipswich player got booked. Justice prevailed, just, and it was Magilton who pushed us through with his will to win. Amazing game, I was there and I'll never forget it.
Best match I’ve ever been to! Be hard to beat!!!!
Arguably my favourite Town match ever ,we were down and out but won!
Bolton seemed to be playing some form of Rugby league.
My childhood watching this. Great times at Ipswich back then!

The day Magilton was fired as manager was when the rot started. Sad to see both Town and Bolton where they are 20 years later.
No, the rot set in when burley destroyed the team he spent 7 years building and the club were relegated having gone into administration
@@MarlboroughBlenheim1 That was the rot before the other rot, then there was Roy Keene and all the Paul’s as manager….the list goes on and on.

The rot is well and truly over now.
Such a tiny ground in those days yet 38,010 were crammed in in 1975 FA Cup sixth round toe v Leeds!
Just breaks my heart when you see town nowadays

NICK MULLER every club has its fair weather supporters. More successful periods always bring in more fans

Clear dive for Ipswich's first penalty though. Referee lost control of this game from then on.
@@myfanwy7 the bolton.players lost control, not the ref
Bolton tried to kick their way through to the semi final and it didn’t work out
