      Although we'll never solve it completely, we now know that consciousness exists outside of space-time. 3D space-time is a subset of a more fundamental reality. The work researchers have been doing over the past decades has be enlightening, particularly at places like The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Perceptual Studies (they have a massive website). So our birth, life and death are ultimately illusions, and our 3D space-time lives are routinely repeated many, many times - at different times and under different circumstances.

    • @garymac5571

      That's the ultimate question, really. I think it does exist beyond brain death, but what form it takes and what we retain from this physical form is entirely unknown and likely unknowable in this life.

    • @tgr5588
      @tgr5588 Рік тому +1

      @@garymac5571 it doesn’t make sense though. We know that certain parts of the brain are responsible for certain functionalities that form consciousness. Looking at this from another angle - mentally handicapped people are handicapped because of some defects in how their brains function - if someone has limited consciousness from brith, does their consciousness stay limited after death?
      It seems a bit too optimistic and unprovable to suggest that consciousness is something other than the product of a physical system

    I enjoy a lot the podcasts with Lex and especially the ones with Max & Nathalie... 🤗
    Our material life on Earth is nothing special, it is just one part of our "double (dual) existence", here on Earth as an individual human with limited consciousness and all power on one focus: survive as long as possible in a difficult and often hostile world (which concerns more the past than the present and less developed world).
    The other part of our "dual life" takes place after our death (and also before birth) as a spiritual community existence together with other souls (also called super-ego in philosophy/ psychology) without physical body and other limitations.
    It`s a state of full awareness (or consciousness), with no survival issues, absolutely peaceful and carefree - many people with NDE (near death experiences) have described it exactly like this. But even this perfect state is temporary, because our soul has to survive the next material and independent "short-term life cycle" as determined with absolut authority by our karma (destiny), which is the organizing tool of life...
    This is described in the Buddhist religion as reincarnation (rebirth) through a new material existence in one of 6 different natural environments (experienced as animal, human or plant) until reaching the "Nirvana" (the state of perfection and detachment) before we then enter the next higher "consciousness dimension" of our universe, which is a completely unknown territory for normal people without paranormal or spiritual experiences of consciousness...

    • @travispreble
      @travispreble Рік тому +1

      The 'detachment' part of your comment rings true to me. As I travel through time I'm realizing my fondness for material things has weened. I grew up and lived in relative luxury in the Bay Area of California but moved across country a few years ago and left everything behind. By everything I mean a 10x20x15 storage unit packed to the gills from my previous 5 bedroom house. I don't miss any of it. I'm so ready to be free from material things.

      I also experienced a very similar youth to yours and later freed myself from excessive wealth and finally broke out of the usual consumption system...
      When fasting or meditating, you will certainly find that your consciousness changes to a calm, positive mood and you will then certainly place more value on a “ballast-free” present and future...
      Even the wealthy neighbors with their restored royal palaces and the latest German sports cars, 6-door refrigerators, flat screen 76-inch TVs, cleaning and lawn mowing robots and all the other expensive affluent goods will then no longer make you feel sad and pile up with inferiority complexes...
      Later you´ll feel like this nice song from Sting - "Free, free, I set me free"...

    Since there’s no mythological god, you only live on in peoples memories, stories, and writings.
    This is standard Native American thinking.
    Meaning it’s best to create beautiful things, memories, and emotions for the living to remember you by.
    Believe that, the living will talk when you’re gone, the less people liked you the less they’ll remember you, and when they do it’ll be a reminder why they forgot you.
    So yeah, let the people talk when your gone, too, just make them good things if you can, by staying balanced and centered on this slippery road called life. Only leaning to the right or left in an attempt to regain balance and not become and extremist.

    If we are able to write something easy like point A and a point B on the palm of our hand and if we can successfully draw a line between them, we should certainly be aware that the line would consist an infinite number of points. Soo, if anyone of us is able to hold the Infinity in the palm of ones hand, than Jesus was right when he said that we are all gods. The only problem is that many people do not see that an infinite life (after death) would need to have an infinitely good and righteous leader, and we all know that there never was, is or will be a better candidate for such a role than Jesus.
