Bugger... I was satisfied with the powercage I've starting saving fire, and here you come with this great review of a rack I've never seen before! Hehe, thank you for the review, and if I manage to get them to ship to Norway, I migth go for this one instead!
Hi Peter, research is so tricky isn’t it? I had a rack ordered the night before I saw this one. I cancelled it and ordered this instead. I wish you luck in your search and, if you decide this is the one for you, your shipping to Norway!
@@thegaragegymgeek2210 With so many choices, it really is! But sadly, they don't ship to Norway, but, you have at least got another follower! Great videos so far! Looking forward to seeing what you'll do next!
Thank you for posting this, it was great to see the rack in action. Is there any up/down movement on the front of the rack (via the pivot pin) to accommodate a slight slope on the floor? Keep up the great videos!
Hey glad you liked the videos. There probably isn’t any movement to accommodate much of a slope. You might get away with a very slight one but the frame needs to be square and true otherwise you can’t fully utilise the safety arms.
Good video dude! My main concern is how smooth the cable system is? Does it feel similar to that of a gym standard cable machine? Or is there a clear difference in friction/quality of movement? Look forward to your reply and potentially starting my home workout journey 💪
Hey thanks! They cable system is excellent. The main thing to consider is loading both sides equally. I found fractional plates helped me as sometimes I need a light weight but the lowest equally loaded bumper weight is 10kg. With the smaller plates I can load as little as 0.5kg a side. It’s not commercial grade but I am very very happy with it. It’s a high quality bit of kit and slides/works very well.
thanks Nick! I was getting lots of questions so hopefully this wraps them up nicely. Although I did note today that the rack is now £800 - still a bargain! (don't tell @Musclesquad that though!)
@@thegaragegymgeek2210 yeah I saw they’d pumped up the price to £800, I should have bought mine a couple of weeks ago but haven’t got the space with everything that’s going on in the garden! 🤦🏼♂️
good review. i am thinking of buying one but not sure if i have room, could you tell me how much room you need from back of the pulley with weight on to the end of a bench when doing bench press in the cage. really appreciate a answer.
Thanks for the walkthrough and indeed, have mine on order. I've just emailed Musclesquad a question, I may as well ask yourself the same one if it's not too inconvenient? Can you advise the height of the chinning bar? The spec advises a height of 2261mm but It looks lower than the pulley arm that comes upwards and over the top from the back. I'm just wondering if I'll need to take out some of the false ceiling in my home gym to allow my head to pass above the rack on a chin up and not clatter into the ceiling?!?! hope makes sense and sincere thanks in advance!

I found it hard to find bundles too. I went for a Big Jim bar from Amazon which is truly outstanding and then Vulcan bumpers. They are great because they’re not as thick as the really cheap plates.
Awesome. That rack wasn’t on the market when I was purchasing. I saw it a while after and it looks amazing. The mono lifts excite me! I think it’ll be a great bit of kit.
@@thegaragegymgeek2210 great video BTW dude. You can purchase the monolifts separately too (on pre order atm). Really interested in the jammer Arms too.. They do p2 & p3 models
Thanks for the video. I bought a similar spec rack, big mistakeI Like this, 60x60x2mm box section. Very thin and flimsy - thus the low capacity. Also the weight stack is on this is only 80kg. You'd be better off with a 75x75x3mm half rack with catchers. All the other accessories you could pick up for peanuts.
Hey, sounds like you’re lifting much more than me. The rack is well within my capabilities but I hear what you’re saying on bigger/thicker box sections if you’re a stronger lifter. I’m really happy with the rack, especially the folding capabilities and range of accessories. But it won’t be the right fit for everyone.
Shame there are delays. It’s worth the wait and still worth the £900. They had a bundle on recently for around £1500 with a bar, bumpers and a bench included.
Hi mate is the 1mtr folded size including the top cable bracket? What is the actually size not including that? As it’s at the top I’m not concerned about it but just wondering if it’s less than one meter without including that but sticking out
Just measured it. Folded including the pulley and the weight horns on the side it’s about 95cm deep and 1.6m wide. Folded or unfolded it’s around 2.3m tall.

Either. Mine is completely freestanding and perfectly fine. It’s billed as a freestanding rack but does have bolt holes in the feet if you want to bolt it down.
Hey man! Binged your videos today. This one kicked it off so I'm back with some questions! Firstly, thanks for the content - love how thorough and honest you are, this is the best UK channel I've found! I'm 24 and have been looking to buy a home gym and just like you, I need pulleys, and space. This looks like a fantastic option with a great price. Before I pull the trigger, are you still super happy with this and is there anything you feel you're missing? If it helps, I'm not a super experienced lifter but used to be very athletic, and I can't commit the time to attend gym regularly (or at all lol) want a solution which means I can get a lot of the main exercises (will likely start a PPL split), but I'm hoping not to have to replace this at all really. Basically once I become "experienced" I'm hoping that I don't have to outgrow it if that makes sense. Once again thank you for your in depth reviews, and love what you've done with your space :)

@@thegaragegymgeek2210 thank you! My garage ceiling is 240cm so I don't think I'll be able to get full form reps in for pull ups, would you consider that a dealbreaker for the machine? I'm a little disappointed but I don't think any of the other functions would be compromised.
@@DomHoran mine is 249 tall and I manage ok. But I wouldn’t rule it out just for that. I don’t think you’ll find any shorter with the same features. I think you can do a good pull up without needing to get your whole head over the bar. :)
The rack is heavy and doesn’t move easily. I have it on 30mm rubber flooring designed for heavy weights. The rack on its own weights 80kg so would definitely dent lesser flooring options. There are holes in the legs to bolt it to the floor if you want to be sure it can’t move but mine never has without bolts and I loaded up 150kg on squats and heavier rack pulls.
@@thegaragegymgeek2210 thanks. What I mean is does it leave indentation on the mat or scrape the floor when you open and close it. I plan on keeping weights on the sides to weigh it down anyway but the scraping was a concern. You know, some leave the arc shape
