Glad to hear that. I used to get a bit frustrated back in the day when I would watch plant UA-camrs that would bypass the name of the plant. It drove me nuts. I try to always give the name so that others can go orchid hunting. That’s part of the orchid collection…the hunt!😎

Lovely video! If you are interested in producing your own vanilla pods, vanilla has to be trained along an upright stake and as the vine reaches the top it has to be guided down and up again to form loops.
Thank you! 💚I was experimenting with them since I got so many cuttings. I don’t really have that many trees that would work for the vanilla. Most if not all my trees are fruit trees. Most orchids don’t like the sap from fruit trees. Vandas are the only ones I find that handle it a bit better. Palm trees are best to use. My Palm out front has a vanilla on it but it’s struggling. To my surprise the ones on the wood fence are thriving. I may put another one on an avocado tree and see how that works since avocados don’t release sap that I know of.
@@naturenel Good luck with your vanilla. It is commercially grown here and the support used is Gliricidia sepium. We had vanilla trained on a frangipani tree. We got a good harvest from it.

I kept saying it’s a cross with Laelia rubensence. But perhaps you’re right. It’s a full blown Laelia rubesence pendicularis. Thank you so much for that. 👍🏼💚🙏🏼

It’s daily observation of you orchids. This is how you catch any issues before they become uncontrollable. Don’t over water. I feel that overwatering is a main problem in raising orchids. I’ve been skipping days of watering in winter. I’ve learned they don’t need as much and too much watering causes root rot and fungus.

I only add heaters or bring some indoors if it drops below 40 for several days. Other than that I leave them alone and not water as much. Perhaps I water every 2 to 3 days. It is raining the way it has and it’s cold, I don’t water at all.

It does look like it. My God does it smell amazing! I think I need a couple more in the greenhouses. Lol!
