Imagining Jonathan as J-Roc is really almost unfathomable. It just goes to show what a god damn good actor he is. And he just jumps into and out of it so easily.
There is no-one on Earth that cannot be feelin this interview. Hosts were great listeners, it’s so awesome when hosts do that and to hear JT talk so candidly and openly. 10/10, keep up the good content boys
Working poor from Michigan! the show speaks to us heavy, like watching home movies, thank you Johnathan for your role in countless hours of entertainment and comfort. You are a national treasure.
Absolutely love the episode Jonathan Torrens was one of my favorite characters on the show and I love how genuine he is in this he sounds like a great guy!
Being from Louisiana, I loved TPB from the first watch. My ex is half Cajun (the Acadians or the Canadians) and the characters on the show remind me much of her family. One of the best crawfish boils I’ve ever been to was when her uncle got out of prison. Good people that do what they want to do and sometimes, they get sideways with the law but they’re honest and true. Great interview. Love it !!
Thanks guys. This is awesome. G'day from Australia. Yes we love TPB's here. I really enjoyed listening to Jonathan. What a cool bloke. I would enjoy listening to an entire BTS conversation with more of the cast. Great work.
I haven't even thought about TPB for years, and this interview came up in my feed. I'm so glad it did. I listened to the entire thing. I appreciate all of you guys, thank you!
nothing better than a kid in dartmouth actin hard with the boss. Jono plays that character so well i feel like i'm back at dartmouth high whenever i hear him do it
I always thought Jonathan was very entertaining and talented. I also could tell he has a beautiful soul! Thanks for all the laughs you have given me over the years. My wife and I recently watched a bunch of TPB and I he still made me laugh out loud!
10:46 learned a lot from this part and onward. Loved what Jonathan had to say about negotiating, knowing your worth and how precious your time is. Good stuff.
Im Australian and love TPB.. what a great interview and what a top bloke JT is... good stuff. Was livin in Canada in 2001 and had a roommate from Moncton.. he was tellin us about how these guys used to be in character at pubs etc and people thought they were real people and that they had made a show based on the characters..I remember finishing work that day and roomie was hyped as it was goin to be premiering on TV that night we all set ourselves up and watched the first episode..from that point I was hooked...saw them many years later in Australia live and had meet and greet tickets but pulled out cause I was too wasted and didnt wanna meet them..haha sorta regret it but oh well.. great interview again enjoyed it a lot. RIP John Dunsworth.
Jonathan Torrens is a national treasure. His characters are amazing and are as funny as anyone anywhere!! Thank you for all the years and characters you've given us once!
Ayyyy, thanks for the Shout Out Jroc for Recognizing The Pas Manitoba!!!!! I'm from Winnipeg Manitoba, and my family is from The Pas!!! Thanks for the ShoutOut! And btw it's crazy cuz in some parts of driving to The Par there's no Cell service or anything. So we're still stuck in the mud on that part
A fantastic interview, very interesting. Jonathan's comments at the end about you listening and guiding the conversation, were what I'd thought well into the podcast and its great he acknowledged that.
Great discussion. With all respect to JT, the character "J-Roc" does change over the course of the show. He becomes a father in Season 9 and has to deal with those challenges. He's patient and compassionate when he deals with MC Flurry who at first doesn't respect him. There's a real maturity there and in this interview I feel like you can see the influence of the man Jonathan Torrens on the character J-Roc. Great, funny guy, super down to earth.
I've watches trailer park boys show and all movies like 15 times over and always wished there was a bit more jroc injected in the show. It was a great character and I always wanted more. It never gets old going back and rewatching everything.
Ive watched trailer park boys a few times through. Is hilarious. You know what I'm sayin' b. Just because of this I'll start watching it again. Rock on jroc
i only came across TPB a couple of years ago and just finished up the series. Its crazy to hear his voice NOT as jay rock. I do not know of any of his other projects, but I am interested in checking them out.
I can't share this video via my youtube channel. who can I get privileges or permissions from in order to share this podcast episode. I'm from New Hampshire USA, we share a small border with Canada, clearly Trailer park boys spoke to me b'c our behaviors, cultures, are very similar, and it reminded me of every trailer park in New Hampshire to Vermont, Maine; I've been told from Canadians just because you hold a US passport doesn't mean you're not Canadian. You're looking at an Honorary Canadian boys. Thank you for this conversation, it was really interesting for me to see and hear.
This is a fantastic interview, little fun tidbit, here in northern Maryland myself and a hockeyteam played a tourney as the shithawks, custom jerseys and all. I was j-roc 🫰👌👌

As a 24 year old, this is great information. Especially the part about negotiating salary and knowing the value of your time.
