Love this interview. Would’ve loved to hear him talk about Val Nichushkin a bit and what he meant to the run. There were some nights I thought he was giving Makar a run for the Conn Smythe.
This video was recommended to me. I was confused by how such a relatively small (not in a negative way, this is well produced) podcast could get such a big name. After 30 sec of research, I realized this is where he’s from! No wonder he’s so chill here, really great interview!
I've been an Avs fan since they were still in Quebec. I am so thrilled to have been able to see this team take 3 cups in my lifetime. This last one was surreal, so many years of watching an hoping. If only the internet was a thing back in '95 to the extent it is now. It would have been pure magic to have been able to see Sakic, Forsberg and Roy in a setting like this after winning the cup. I relish these kind of interviews so much, raw and uncensored, the way it should be. Makes me love the players even more than I already do. Fantastic stuff.
I've been waiting for an interview like this. So many narratives during the cup run, good to hear what really went down and how the Dogg saw it. I'm pumped up now. Today is going to be a great gym workout!
Nate’s been here in Denver a long time. So I was most happiest for him. And of course Gabe and EJ. But Nate is such a great guy and incredible hockey player and he turned it on when it counted most.
Love u Nate. You got that Dawg in you 😤, Go Avs, we’ll always love you. Grew up watching him since he was drafted, he was 18 and I was 8 when Mackinnion changed my life as an Avs fan. I love you Nate
@@RIPJimmyA7X MacKinnon played out of his mind in Game 5 with that Hatty only to get let down by his teammates, but Darren Helm and JT Compher were so clutch in that series.
That loss did sting but I didn’t have any doubts they were going to win the series. Mostly because of how dominant they’d been on the road and also how resilient they were all season. The difference between this team and the previous few years was that I never felt they were out of a game. They kind of had the ole, “We’re down 1 or 2 goals. Pfft…we’ve got this” mentality.
Warriors were a three seed this year, bucks were a three seed last year, and the 1 seed lakers beat the 5 seed heat in 2020. Upsets are the norm in basketball. Just say you don’t watch 🤣🖕
The 1 seed suns we’re almost knocked out by the 8 seed Pelicans who took them to game 7 in the first round, and then the suns were subsequently destroyed by the 5th seeded Mavs in round 2. You and mackinnon know nothing about basketball lmfao. That would be equivalent to the preds forcing a game seven vs the Avs and then the Avs subsequently getting gentleman’s swept by the LA Kings
Such an awesome interview! Loved seeing Nate Dawg in his natural habitat. He must think highly of the host because he never gives interviews, let alone sitting for a full hour. New subscriber here! Can’t wait to hear more!
Huh, here I thought I saw Makar had an amazing hockey head, and his physical skills were catching up, Nate says the opposite pretty much. He would know more than me. Imagine having those two and Gabe as leaders. Crazy star power leadership you couldn't even ask for. MacKinnon hasn't stopped moving his legs in about 3 years now, guess he really wanted that cup. Love that he noted the two way game. Such a perfect top line all playoffs long. Didn't historically shoot the lights out but still all at a point per game together, with mad possession and +/- domination.
My biggest questions as an avs fan going in to the playoffs: 1 can girard stay healthy and can he play his game. 2 is MacK gonna be on all the time on defense... he blew me away with how good he was defensively, made the ultimate difference imo.
I love this man and I'm so glad we drafted him instead of Seth Jones (no dispect to SJ). Listening to Mac talk makes me such a fan... he is so so humble and I'm so grateful he is (kinda) this generation's Peter Statsny-- not exactly, but an iteration for the modern era!!!... I also appreciate his comments about how the media frames things vs. the reality of how they actually go down (discussion in the 10 - 12 medium range somewhere)... and Mac's insights into the Oilers series were fun to hear too; in the Edmonton series-- they (the Av's) showed that they were ready for the big moment, and Edmonton showed that they were not (props to AJ from DNVR-- that's his observation)... remember Manson behind the bench losing his shit?!?!.. anyway, fabulous vid-- instant like and subscribe
@@Dhelmise29 He say he doesn't believe in superstition, but if you have been to Avs games in Denver. I noticed a few things Nate does. For warmups- Nate have to be last following Rantanen on the ice. When warmups are over he is the last player to leave the ice. He also spends time skating with Lehkonen when the clock ticks down to zero. They both leave the ice at the same time, Lehky first, Mack last...Weird.
The hug between MacK and EJ immediately after the final horn was my favorite moment of the celebration
It's so nice to see Nate relaxed
For sure, guy finally reached his life goal. You can just see how relieved and blessed he his for it all.
@@tegridy27 He'll be back working hard to try to get more Stanley Cups for sure. The guy is too competitive to be settlr for only one.
Loved to hear MacKinnon talk about his win and hear the relief in his voice.
This is what the Dogg does, wins cups, and gives nothing but love to his guys

Never been so happy for someone I don’t know personally. Congrats, Nate!! Well deserved man.
Great interview. Mack seems so down to earth and this and the chicklets interview really showed off that great character
This is big for you as a channel my man! Nate’s such a cool guy, nothing but respect for him. This was a fantastic episode
Amazing podcast. Love hearing Nate more relaxed and natural. He usually gives pretty dry responses to media, but he really opened up here.
Such a great interview!! Loved seeing my Avs winning the Cup again after 21 years and Nate finally getting his Cup. ❤

Best hockey interview I've ever seen, just fuckin awesome!!! Seeing Nate so relaxed is WEIRD BUT INCREDIBLE!!!! So happy for MacK and the boys!!!!
Awesome interview!! Really well done. Was great to see this side of Nate. The city of Denver is proud
A+++ interview
"when u get angry u waste energy' so true natemac
I really can't overstate how, as an Avs van, devistating game 5 against st Louis was for us fans. It really did feel like "here we fucking go again"
Equally impactful when Helm scored to win game 6. What a rollercoaster that week was.
Yep exactly and it was game 6 where I truly thought to myself ya this team is different. The response the boys showed was absolutely incredible

Great stuff, I'd mark out if I met Nate
The crazy thing is I knew we were going to win it this season just had a gut feeling since the first game of 2021

Nate Dogg. I’m a Zamboni driver in Glenwood Springs Colorado I would love for you to skate my ice.
Great interview. Still don’t understand the 1787 thing though.
He’s best friends with Sydney Crosby. Mack having room 1787 was a nod to Syd (#87)
Superstition rarely ever makes sense. Once you understand that, youll get it
Also 17 - the Penguins year for winning the Stanley Cup, 87 - Number Crosby wears on the ice...1787.

I wish you asked Nate Dawg his thoughts on Nazem Kadri potentially not signing for next year?!
That game five loss was awful! I paid a lot of money to fly from Tx and be at the game. Then we went back home to watch game six on tv. Terrible!
