  • In a slight deviation from my normal content, this video encompasses an entire week in the town of Hirtshals, Denmark with some lifelong family friends! If you’re interested in a slightly lesser known part of Denmark I highly recommend visiting this town and spending some time on the beautiful (yet admittedly cold) beaches, hiking through the endless sand dunes and checking out the very picturesque lighthouses in the surrounding area.
I was lucky enough to spend my time with a family of friends that I have known for a long time, basically my whole life, and I’ve got nothing but kind words in thanking them for their hospitality in letting me stay with them for a week. I was able to see old WW2 bunkers, go swimming every single day, eat some delicious danish foods (not all shown in the video) and really unwind and enjoy my last week in Denmark.
    I hope you enjoy!

I grew up in Maine, but never had fresh dill (or the stale kind) on crab or lobster. Much of Denmark reminds me of Maine, including the laconic directness that verges on rudeness, though I guess it's more extreme in the Danes. I could imagine living in that beautiful country, had I the money. Maybe I'm homesick. Great tour. See you in Italy, Fionn. Cheers!

I found Danish food to be really unique, I wish I had gotten more on camera but breakfast with my friends typically consisted of black bread with different kinds of cured meat/fish spread, very different from anything in North America! I’ve not been to Maine, but I totally agree the Danes are very direct and to the point in conversation, no messing around haha. It really is a great country, glad you liked it Todd!
