The Yorubas are not running to Ivory Coast as you claim. They've been in Ivory Coast for several generations, even before Nigeria and Ivory Coast became independent nations. They are a part and parcel of the Ivory Coast fabric. Having said that, notice how they're not bad-mouthing Nigeria and are still proud to identify with their homeland, even with Nigeria's shortcomings? Even after being there for almost a century, they're not claiming Abidjan to belong to them and I'm sure that for the most part they live in peace with the indigenous Ivorians for this reason. This should be a lesson for Nigerians as a whole.

That's so good of them. They don't claim that Abidjan is now a no-man's-land like some people are claiming in Lagos!

@@adegboyegaogundiran8679 Not at all. As a matter of fact, they have also borrowed some of the culture of the Ivorians and incorporated it into theirs back in their ancestral hometowns in western Nigeria. In those places, they speak French, Joula, and eat Acheke. That is what a beautiful exchange of cultures looks like.

They are not "running" there, they've always lived there for over 50 years. Same with Togo, Republic of Benin and few in Burkin-Faso. There are Igbos living in Guinea Equatorial for over 50years. And you will find "Hausa/Fulani" in almost all the West African countries.

Shut your mouth cos you do not know what your are writing. Imagine the nonsense you spew here about UAE and it is the Igbo who spoilt UAE after they arrive, which a lie from the pit hell. Imagine the bigotry you are spewing here. Continue carrying your tribalism like a badge of honour.

Ivory Coast is a land of welcoming. You we never see this in any other countries in Africa! We should appreciate the Ivoirians. Also, there is a mixed marriage happening a lot.

Many West Africans settled in Lagos and western Nigeria too. They've inter-married and have been assimilated but Lagos was made up of Yorubas, Nupe, Beninois, Togolese, Ghanaian, Sierra Leonean and Liberian. Lagosians know this to be a fact. This predates Nigeria as a country. I don't think anywhere in West Africa has a history as diverse as Lagos does.

This has nothing to do with Oyo empire. Ogbomoshos and Ejigbo traded with Mali, Liberian, Zambians, and Ivory coast people more than 200 years ago.

if you understand who yorubas are, you will rethink. A group of people who did not only live since a long time in that country, but are even given a community by the locals, without any problem since decades or probably centuries, is definitely a group of good people. These are not drug dealers or human traffickers. Try to associate yourself with yorubas in your country and notice the differences in the different tribes of nigeria. If you watch this video and listen to the conversation very well, you will notice that the people living in this community are building the community rather than extorting money or involved in illicit acts.

Those Yorubas and some other tribes have been travelling back and forth to Ivory coast or lived there and other West African countries years before Europeans came to create borders or talkless of before Nigeria independence and Ivory Coast never cry. So no be today
