Yeah it honestly feels so strange. Like you can really imagine her voice speaking english sentences from that, before it was just cute mostly broken pronunciation
notice that her voice also changed a bit, it might be that the exaggerated voice she does for the streams makes it harder for her to speak english without her accent creeping in
Wow she is REALLY good at making the English "R" sound. That is one of the most difficult sounds for Japanese speakers, especially when it's at the end of a word. A lot of Japanese people learning English end up with a little bit of a British sounding -er where it's more like "ah".
I always wondered if her regional accent has something to do with it. It seems like her pronounciation has always been surprisingly good for English compared to most Tokyo-dialect-based JP speakers.
I think she mentioned ages ago taking not just English lessons but ones specifically for improving pronounciation. Not sure if she's still at it but it definitely helped.
@@Appers Yeah but at this point the American pronounciation is standard for most English learners. I started learning English with British pronounciation and basically shifted over to the American pronounciation just by being on the internet.

It’s crazy how she sounds so high pitched while speaking Japanese but hearing that “cucumber” with a perfect American accent made her voice sound totally normal
People's voices always sound so different between languages once they hit a fluent pronunciation (for instance I'm quite monotoned in English, but seem to be able to express a much larger range in Japanese). It's super interesting to hear even a glimpse of what a completely native Koro-san would sound like.
I have a feeling people are going to look back at this in 10 years time and be like 'ah, so this was the beginning of her pronouncing English words perfectly'
The video was almost over, so I stopped paying attention and scrolled to the comments to see all the "haha, she says cucambah" comments I expected. Then I heard someone say cucumber, and it sounded so normal that I didn't notice for like 2 seconds that it was Korone. really caught me off guard

For a second, I thought you baited us. Then that last cucumber smacked me in the face.
Same! Was extremely surprised by it!
That's what she said
It really hit different!
I didn’t believe it, and I’m sorry for doubting you, bros 🫡
TRUE
That's legitimately surprising how well she pronounced it. That's awesome.
Kind of jarring, honestly. I was not expecting it, even if the video title said that would happen.
Well, only after pronouncing it wrong first.
