also as an electronics hobbyist I would sign up for the Patreon just for the insights so far (about low power consumer electronics, in the cycling industry or about BLE etc.)

Thanks. I'm still mulling it over. Glad to see you think it's not a bad idea.

I'd definitely support a patreon. Really enjoy learning about this stuff and would love to mod an eps groupset if the opportunity to get an epx board came up

It's conceptually still new to me so I'll have to do some more digging before I decide.

Very Cool! I've been following your projects for the past 10 years! I was working on an auto-shifting system based on RPM/power. My project failed. Glad to see you're still after it!

Well, not so much auto shifting. Just dealing with the whole lack of features, generating trash, and unreplacable power unit. They haven't made V3's in years and they actually can't because Panasonic stopped making the NCR14430 cells permanently. V4 is just 14500 cells but was intentionally made not backwards compatible due to the 11spd vs 12spd thing. So every EPS v2 and v3 system is dying, yet the derailleurs and shifters are good. In fact Shimano and SRAM's latest offerings are still slower and weaker in terms of speed and force. Just sick of disposable everything. Right to repair maybe?

@@kwakeham I’m with you 100%. Years back, when I supported a team that used EPS, the shifting was next level in terms of derailleur speed and torque. I think a lot of this was the high (relative compared to other offering) voltage of the system. Every system had controller/battery failure. I learned recently that all those broken systems were thrown in the garbage. So sad.

@borano2031 Missed this, yes, but they haven't made them in 4 - 5 years, so if you can find it it's old stock and might be DOA

@Alansutton I hate that this is where we are with tech. 12 Speed uses the same actuator but different mechanicals. There was very little reason to not support or at least use the V4 in a backwards mode, but with the wireless new 12speed both 11 and 12spd will be abandoned -- at least V4 powerunits might be able to be made for longer

Hi Keith Wakeham! You are a power meter guru so I ask youi. Is there any good reason that you can't dual record directly on Zwift, i.e. pairing two power meters and recording both, but using only one of them for in-game power? Limitations to Bluetooth/ANT+?

    Hi Keith,
I have a v2 battery Athena campag eps groupset. I haven’t used it for about two years. Had trust issues with the battery system so switched to Shimano…I have trust issues with the battery life.
Please can you advise me how to test the v2 battery and perhaps test my charger too. I can’t seem to be able to test the battery.
Charger just flashes and nothing charges….so seems like the battery is dead or the charger is dead.
Just some advice on resurrecting my campag would appreciated.
    Thanks Jason.
Is there another way to make a new battery (have done it with Shimano di2)?

Thanks for covering these topics, especially with the Nordic peripheral details etc. For the oven, you might want to try 'Reflow Master Pro' (from @UnexpectedMaker) which I'm told is very good and apparently achieves accurate 'burn profiles'. A small 'hot plate' also works for small projects (wouldn't take a panelized pcb, but you could do one board at a time)
What's that mini PnP you're using?

It's a Qihe TVM802B which is the one with a built in a computer but only one reel set. Due to the ikea table it's on it is much slower than it can go. I had a lot of early frustration and documentation is a bit light on what all the offsets mean. It was 0402 attempts that really pushed me to dial it in and it's much much better.
